Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Brickmaster replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Cool, a review of the only set I would be interested in getting. Finally! Someone gets it. -
Hence, it being called a teaser I will upload more if it gets a good enough reaction - Otherwise I will wait untill it is actually finished.

Months ago, you may have remembered I had a big ole' WIP on my hands. No, I didn't give up on it, and no, I'm still not done almost a year after starting. And no, obviously I am not dead around here, I mostly just lurk, but have been posting more often. Yes, this is still a WIP. It is not finished. So far, it is over 3 feet long, has a fully accessable interior, and many details, such as a biological interior, with all the nice entrails and such. So, without further filler, here are the pictures. I apologize for the bad cropping and fairly bad quality beforehand. (IMG tags not working, will edit later) But for now, here it is on flickr: Flickr Any commentary or criticism, or suggestions, will all be well read and taken into consideration. Anything you can manage from these quasi pictures will be appreciated. Thanks for looking. And sorry to tease (If I actually accomplished that, heh)

The space needle is pure awesome, the others are just simple stacks of bricks. Interesting news, however, thank you.

Purist Clayface (Power Miners)
Brickmaster replied to SirNadroj's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Ah, I kindof figured. Oh well, it is still a very nifty piece you have created here, and if anyone was devout to making a clayface for his or her own cause, some simple glue would do the trick. I love that the arms are actually swappable aswell. -
Dan Siskind's WWII Dioramas
Brickmaster replied to Brickadier General's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very classic. I thoroughly enjoy looking at works like this, thank you for sharing. -
Pure awesome. This has it all. Intricacy, awesome looking-ness, color scheme, and hell, just skill. One. One thing I nitpick on. The shoulder joints, are nice and open.

3 treads, odd angles, those weird curvy white pieces in back. I like it. I may recommend or say it would look alot better if you didn't use the white grill pieces, but rather smooth white tiles, at thr front, and also, the 'missile pod' looking things could be abit more, 'missile pod-y'. The trans red also seems out of place. Kudos on making a tri-track, and using some interesting parts.

Purist Clayface (Power Miners)
Brickmaster replied to SirNadroj's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Is the top head thoroughly fixed onto a part, or is it just resting on something; meaning is clayface suitable or not for some actual play? Very nifty. -

Hmm. I really like that trans green viewer, how did you get it to be fixed on there, some form of plastic apoxy, plastic glue, or?

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Brickmaster replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I've been waiting for a review of 8961. Does noone want that set or something? It's the only one I'm considering getting, I just need more pictures to confirm. And no, sorry, I don't mean to complain, It's just I really want to see this set. -
I'm not sure how suitable my avatar is for being christmas-ified, but, I could always add a tiny santa hat on the guy, just wouldn't be too noticeable.

Hahah. Good stuff. Reminds me, this year for highschool jersey switch day, I took a friend of mines corset and plaid miniskirt and wore those. Oh, were pictures taken.

What was the last movie you watched?
Brickmaster replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I saw Bolt. It's good reviews are quite deserved, cute movie, well made. -
If you'd like to add it, sure, I have no qualms with that.

Let's be honest, noone wants to read long lists, so I'll put a short one of my simply favorite bands: Shinedown Avenged Sevenfold Dream Theater In Flames That'll do it.

I have high expectations for these. I somehow think we are looking at something more like the new agents, mixed with space, rather than the classical space era, however.

I sense free advertisement. I also find the article redundant, in that the picture showed no form of glorifying terrorism, it simply shows a very real aspect of the world, and it cannot be ignored. Most people who buy these items are not children, either, like they seem to expect.

Some of the best Apoc/Rubble stuff I've seen on these boards. I may get hammered for this, but I can't help but being reminded of Fallout with the dud bomb

What was the last movie you watched?
Brickmaster replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I saw a few year's old movie: Keeping Mum. It was charming, disturbing, yet in the end had a surprisingly meaningful underlaying tones. I highly recommend it to anyone with a good, or cynical, sense of humor. -
Although there is nothing stupendous about building techniques, size, or glamor, I think this Moc (more like a comic, actually) has significant and original charm, and reminds me of the things I used to build years ago. No matter the distaste, grammar, or the wavering from the 'actual story', I still have a distinct admiration for this little moc. Also, in the second picture, I presume some form of editing was used to achieved the blurry effect of the background?
