Great MOC! I love the custom Galadriel. Is her outfit custom for official? P.S. My word, that last picture is terrifying.

Well, you could also say the same thing about Saruman and the orcs/Uruk-hai. But a guy can dream, can't he? I do hope for at least two eagles from the LotR/Hobbit themes.

I love your LotR MOCs! I can't wait to see what you with Minas Morgul and Barad-Dur!

Exclusive Orthanc, huh? I really need to start putting money away. I think it will retail for about $130 - $150. I don't think it will be $200 - $300, like other members are saying. It'll definitely include Saruman, hopefully Grima, some Orcs/Uruk-hai, HOPEFULLY one or two Ents with Merry and Pippin, and maybe Gwaihir (right?) with Gandalf the Grey (a necessary evil if we want a giant eagle. Oh, that rhymes! :D)

I'm pretty sure the line is selling well. Yesterday, my local LEGO store was sold out of ALL THE LOTR/HOBBIT SETS. Not a single one was left on the shelf.

Nice MOC! I love the Sauron figure. -
Hello, As the new year dawns upon us (and has already come for some), what are your plans for your LEGO in 2013? Is there anything LEGO-related you did in 2012 that you now regret? My plans for 2013 are focusing on Lotr & the Hobbit (army-building, the new sets, and MOCs). I regret not focusing on the theme earlier. How about you? Any LEGO plans for 2013?

Unless Flobnodmob (or something like that) put that picture up there, someone ripped off his work. It's sad what people will do these days. However, I really do hope for a Witch-King set at one point (actually, a whole slew of Pelennor Fields sets would be amazing).

I love this MOC! This is a great expansion on the Barrel Escape set.

Great Rivendell and Lothlorien MOCs here! I think I'll try adding onto the Council of Elrond set once it's released.

That's a hard question. I've seen the trilogy several times, and I'm currently working on reading the books. So far, I equally like both. I've heard of the Scouring of the Shire, and I also think it's anticlimatic (the same reason it was cut out of the movies). The only two things I wish the movies had were Saruman's death and the Mouth of Sauron sequence.

Not bad for a first MOC! The only thing I would fix is the fact that the dining room is open to the outside. Otherwise, great MOC!

Mordor Orcs with hair are $6 USD and up on Bricklink, so the key chain is a better option.

Actually, how does someone get a hold of one of those magazines?

Um, that's just a shadow. Deskp, I your Rivendell model. I think I'll try beefing up the Council of Elrond set once I buy it. Quick question: where there any towers with a dome top in Rivendell? I thought that perhaps the Council of Elrond set, a tower with a dome on top, a bridge, and a structure similar to the Council set would make a nice Rivendell.

Why doesn’t LEGO provide any battle packs?
Mr_Malfoy replied to Elander's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
LEGO could very easily do that. Lord of the Rings BPs can include siege weapons (catapults, ballistas, battering rams, etc), weapon racks, scenery (rocks, bushes), and so and so on. They actually could mini-waves midway between LotR and Hobbit waves consisting of battlepacks. I already know of some ideas they could make a lot of money on: Mordor Orc Battlepack (4 Mordor Orcs - 2 regular, 1 armored, 1 captain, catapult, weapons rack, rock, standard) Rohirrim Battlepack (2 Rohan soldiers, 2 Rohirrim, two horses, weapons rack, tent, standard) Gondorian Battlepack (4 Gondorian soldiers, trebuchet, weapons rack, standard, bush) Uruk-hai Battlepack (3 Uruk-hai, 1 Uruk captain, catapult, weapons rack, rock, battering ram, standard) Easterling/Haradrim Battlepack (2 Easterlings, 2 Haradrim, catapult, rock, weapons rack) Elven Battlepack (4 Lorien Elves, weapons rack, rock, bush, standard, some sort of assault vehicle) Warg Battlepack (2 Orcs, 2 Wargs, standard, weapons rack, rocks and bushes) Army of the Dead Battlepack (4 Soldiers of the Dead, weapons rack, rock, catapult[?]) Corsair Battlepack (4 Corsairs, mini dock, weapons rack, catapult [cannon if they had cannons]) I would buy at least two of them, maybe several depending on what they are. -
*Deathleech's post* . 100? Man, I really need to get going on my army building plans. Not on that large a scale, though. I only need 40 - 50 Uruk-hai.

On Bricklink, the orcs with hair are about $6.50, and the hairless orcs are about $4.00. It makes no sense that hair should cost an extra $2 more. There's a keychain of the Mordor Orc with hair for sale at LEGO stores and on LEGO.com, so that's a better option.
-
That looks even better! I think I'll bricklink the parts for the tower once I buy it.

Lucky. I never got a chance at one, but, I'll just wait for the Council of Elrond set.

You did! :)

I didn't even think of that. I'm now pretty sure that perhaps the source only took a picture of one page, there might be two for LOTR. I'm still hoping for Balrog and Treebeard sets, and something with Gondor.
