  1. Thanks! Good observation, there will be a plateau of 120 by 80 cm attached with a Powerfunctions GBC Ball Recycyler, that's a tracked vehicle with which children can collect balls and push them to the Paternoster. All for Lego World Netherlands in October. Below a picture. The gondolas (nice word) are just dragged over a series of small LEGO wheels to tilt so de balls drop out.
  2. After my Rainbow Wave it was time for something different. Inspired by the Paternoster in the Wall-E movie I wanted to create something like that as a LEGO GBC. I kept the in box as low as possible for reasons I will reveal later. As a result of that the ball pickup after the ball release from the buckets is just 1 brick high. Hope you like it:
  3. Just stared working with the 3mm rigid tubes for a new project, finishing touch :) I summarize: Size is exactly the same, good! They are a bit softer and easier to bend, as a consequence they retain their shape somewhat less after bending. They can however retain their shape but have to bend further and easily 'nick' when bending with fingers. Better use some kind of template when bending because it's difficult to get a smooth bend, even with a template. After bending they retain their shape without wanting to bend back. Probably some heating up can help with the bending but not too hot and with a template. Because they are softer I have the impression they are less tight fastened in clips and openings they fit in. They shine more as the finish is not so 'grainy' as the LEGO tubes. Black and white are a good match to the LEGO colors Dark Bluish Gray color is a bit less dark grey than the LEGO colors. Red, Blue and Green are a bit darker (less bright) than the LEGO colors. Very pleased with them, very good alternative to the real stuff keeping the remarks above in mind.
  4. Thanks, went through 3 forms on Youtube to claim it is mine but I don't think it has landed at Youtube. Anyway, it happens in this digital world :)
  5. Thanks for the review! To come back to my earlier question, I've build the model and it runs close to two hours with the Lego lithium battery. But for my purpose the original model wat a bit too nervous, steering the nose in the exact direction was difficult and it was a bit too quick. So I build this one with added/subtracted steering but you might recognize the track layout as that runs very smooth.
  6. Thanks!, Yes, all that work for 3 min. airtime. Unfortunately also camera bag stolen with a Canon 5D MII in Madrid after the show but it was worth it :)
  7. Here is a link to the Brickjournal article of my adventure with Eva Longoria :)
  8. Got them but didn't have a chance to try yet, I will have a look tomorrow.
  9. I really like this build and movie, I think from a Korean GBC fan. It shows the improvements made by Courbet also well and nice finish box. Haven't got any reply from Brickjournal on a publish embargo date so will be sharing the 5 page article from the El Hormiguero adventure soon.
  10. I know it's like cursing in a church (Dutch saying) but may be some Akiyuki designs are not meant to run for hours without dropping a ball and just should be greatly admired because of their amazing ingenuity and leave it like that.
  11. That looks very good, wish I had known that before. Did you test these tubes and do they work with the Marble Run? Thanks. Doesn't matter, hope it works because I just ordered, they are now out of black :)
  12. There will be a 5 page article about the Spain adventure featuring the Rainbow Wave in the next Brickjournal issue #46.
  13. Thanks! The flight back was no problem, very few damages, almost intact.
  14. I tried that one but they don't ship to Europe. Other I have not found or were not suitable.
  15. Looks excellent, top!
  16. Looks excellent, thanks!
  17. Here is the link to the El Hormiguero show and the 3 GBC's Akiyuki Invisible lift, my RainBow wave and modified Marble Run. And Eva Longoria and Maria Bravo http://www.antena3.com/programas/el-hormiguero/secciones/ciencia-marron/la-maquina-creada-con-piezas-de-lego-mas-impresionante-del-mundo_2017040358e2b79e0cf2f2c87554eab4.html All were damaged after flying to Madrid, the Marble Run almost destroyed. I managed to rebuild and test them but bricks were lost and I had to help the Marble Run. The Rainbow Wave has 37 colors instead of 38, one was lost during transport as all colors (but 1) were scattered in my transport box. Here an iPhone picture as unfortunately my photo equipment was stolen in Madrid.
  18. Thanks Fernando. Actually the box came in on it's side in Madrid despite many 'Fragile - this side up' labels, also in Spanish. The Marble Run was totally destroyed, others damaged. Fortunately I was able to rebuild and test with a lot of stress in 6 hours but the Marble Run refused to run without hickups. Luckaly in the show things went well. Still enjoying Madrid but when I'm back home I make report out of the special experience :)
  19. Good tip, thanks! They are 64 pieces of 32L 3mm rigid tube, the only length that was available in that quantity on Bricklink. They are connected together with 60470b which works well.
  20. Yes, I have to because it is too big to take with me through security. But it will travel as 'musical instrument' so not with the automated suitcases, I guess manually. Costs 100 Euro extra but the TV show pays :)
  21. All 3 including Rainbow Wave on base plates and connected/pinned to each other as one block to go to Madrid and make their TV debut. Hopefully everything stays in one piece in the plane.
  22. It's nice to be put on the same level as Akiyuki but the Rainbow Wave is 100% my design with improvements and instructions by Courbet :) The rainbow wave got me on Spanish television, Sunday I'm flying to Madrid to show it on El Hormiguero, Eva Longoria will also be in the show.
  23. Question please. Does anyone know how long it runs on the 8878 battery, on a smooth surface like a wooden floor? I've designed a snow groomer with additive steering to use in a GBC but it drains the battery too quick, this track design seems exactly what I need (light, robuust, agile) if it can run for a few hours on the chargeable PF battery. I may add a gearing to a what lower speed, that probably will help to let the battery last longer? Thanks.
  24. Thank you Laurent and thank you very much for the improvements and excellent building instruction!
  25. Flights booked, now making a box to fly with 3 fragile GBCs checked in as a 'musical instrument' to Madrid. Excited to show them in a TV studio with live audience and millions of (Spanish speaking) viewers around the world on 3rd of April on Antena 3.
