  1. Excellent! Must have been a lot work with all those hoses. Even the ball catcher at the end is there :) Please also make the ramp a full 4 hoses so the balls are enclosed by 4 hoses otherwise some balls may shoot out.
  2. Here is the full train stud.io file with online building steps and parts list https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=79421 After approval on Rebrickable I will post the link to Rebrickable which will also have a PDF with building instructions.
  3. Couldn't write it down better myself, thanks :)
  4. @Doug72 It looks impressive, I hope you can get it to work. Meanwhile I'm creating a Stud.io building instruction for the rechargeable train but can't find the stupid PF switch 8869 in Stud.io (hide unavailable colors disabled). Anyone an idea how to add this switch to Stud.io so I can complete the building instruction? Otherwise I will publish it without the switch. May be it is possible to import it as a custom part through its LDraw.dat file but would like to avoid to go that way. Update, 8869 is a set number and part number would be bb339c02 (u9333c01.dat) but still not available in Stud.io Update, it was fiddly but had to add the switch as a custom part to studio through three .dat files obtainable from ldraw.org
  5. That's funny to read but not so funny for you at that time but at least you got to visit it :) What also may be is deviating is the amount of children I have placed in the MOC. I've put in as much boys and girls that I had, I've read that mostly adults visit the shop :)
  6. @dunes I hope you get the input timed properly, it's looking very good so far with the black and red. It's a very nice module to look at so worth while the efforts.
  7. The tanks are hard to come by these days, also because any shipment is almost immediately a package in most countries making it even more expensive. I just finished my 4 cilinder version without Akiyuki frame and have a ton of bricks left over from my 8 cilinder version with Akiyuki frame. It runs very smooth by the way, no bouncing. I made a quick phone picture but the forum won't let me upload.
  8. Thank you all for your kind remarks and LEGO Ideas votes so far, I see more support coming in now that the Leicester store is featered on the Eurobricks frontpage
  9. Thanks, also for the tip. I looked at that but it's not half a bird but a full bird so that means a hole in the wall to 'hide' the other half. But who nows what TLG comes up with when it gets approved :)
  10. @HRU_Bricks Thanks! I've tried using an automatic cut off switch but found it didn't work well with the trains and scissor lift module but that was may be because one of my cilinders probably was leaking although new. My setup had a pressure drop when not pumping and it's better the system has full pressure when a train arrives. i steer the pressure cycle with a 9V train power supply to have optimum pressure when the train arrives but with eight pumps it ran on power supply position no. 2 (too low) and sometimes power supply would cut out because the eight cilinders required to much power. So now I'm trying 4 cilinders and your design partially, thanks again.
  11. @HRU_Bricks thanks for Stud.io file (although without hoses). I've also build a compressor for my pneumatic scissor lift in the video below but it is actually too powerful with 8 pumps so I'm going to rebuild it using part of your design and try to fit it in an Akiyuki style frame :)
  12. The Ball Factory was my first GBC to build and my first and only GBC I dismantled. It was too delicate, couldn't even pick it up without destroying something and got tired of re-syncing it after every ball drop. It was a great brick donor for other GBCs. Some day I build one again that will be less delicate and more reliable so it can run on events.
  13. Thanks all! I wondered why nobody had this idea before me, not only TLG :) LEGO stores seem to be hot these days although that was not the reason I designed one, I just wanted a LEGO Store modular worthy of adding to my collection and didn't see one so far so made one myself :)
  14. No problem with it if it's to create an existing part in your desired color to obtain the result you have envisioned. Real building still beats digital building where you can use every color!
  15. I designed and build this LEGO Store inspired by the largest LEGO Store in the world at Leicester square in London as I thought it was about time to add a LEGO Store to my modular collection of 22. Ground floor: Technic, City and on sale product shelves Tube train photo opportunity with Royal Guard, William Shakespeare and the Queen Tube train with tram driver and Charlie the Conductor Two story high Big Ben with Constable, Detective and Judge Brickley the Dragon Welcoming by Lester Counter with register and Lester polybags 1st floor Friends, Duplo and other product shelves Phone Box photo opportunity Pick and Build wall Play Table Stair case with LEGO Logo history View on the Big Ben and Brickley the Dragon, 2nd floor Overall the modular has been designed to keep the amount of bricks as low as possible through the use of panels and large bricks. The 2nd floor is not a fully utilized floor to keep the brick count below the 3000 maximum. It is designed to have optimal light conditions in the store through the use of more glass and contributes to the already open inside structure of the building. The roof has four studs on it so the store can easily be recognized as a LEGO store on satellite map images :) If the brick count restriction would not apply I imagine the top floor could well be a shop for tea/coffee with cupcakes and a terrace to enjoy. If it reaches 10.000 votes on LEGO Ideas but is not approved by LEGO I will publish a free building instruction and parts list. I have a Studio design and as you can see it can be build in real bricks. So please vote if you like it :) LEGO Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e015f9c8-3faf-4308-b8ed-b5e09c6ebcef High resolution Flick album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/r53/albums/72157690132930563 A picture overview: Free building instructions, decal sheet and parts list on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-54534/BrickPolis/the-lego-store-leicester-square/
  16. As said, i ran the Invisible Lift last LEGO World seven days in a row without desyncing and almost without dropping balls. It only desyncs when a gear breaks or ball gets stuck. I took measures to prevents balls get stuck if they drop, all listed in my Invisible Lift Flickr album together with other improvements. It's worth it, it's a public favorite.
  17. @rskamen Don't start with glue for grip, timing and alignment is everything. PTFE is Teflon lubricant. From your posts I gather you want to start well prepared but sometimes it's just better to start en grow your knowledge by building :)
  18. @rskamen entry ramp is 3mm rigid hose from LEGO. Clamping method is like the method Akiyuki used in his marble run of which the building instruction is available here. I made the new entry and exit so the module could be moved better for events, the studded bricks entry already breaks apart when looking at it. I don't have a parts list. Here's some pictures on my Flickr: Two years ago it dropped a lot of balls at LEGO World. Last year at the same event it dropped almost none the whole seven days after finetuning it. Finetuning was 1 tooth shift on the 40t gears and bending the antennas slightly so they were exactly opposite of each other. Also apply PTFE.
  19. @rskamen next weekend I should have my mobile studio up again for a different project, I'll make some pictures of the pulley system although in the quoted video it is well visible. Or I will make a short building instruction for it.
  20. Correct :) Participated 3 times. It's an event organized by TLG with a large high quality fanzone and almost 100.000 visitors last year. It's 7 days but you can opt for part of it.
  21. Would have come in handy a while ago when I'd made a simple one turned by hand utilizing a microwave dish on top, I used it extensively in this video. A motorized turntable I made for my Roulette GBC :)
  22. @SWL I used 42 pieces of 32L 3mm rigid hoses as they were the cheapest to get through bricklink at that time. That's almost 5,5 meter. A different length is also possible as they are connected to each other but wouldn't recommend to go too short. BTW @9v system is making building instruction for the Marble shooter but on 1 motor I believe.
  23. @rskamen Definitely soft springs! And there are apparently two types of soft springs, older and new ones. Mixing them good be detrimental for reliability although I did not have the issue, my springs were all new.
