40% shrinkage of the 8479 Barcode Truck. Obviously without the electronics and also without the Flex Cables. The idea is to 'program' the truck by road plates. The road plates will have Technic Gear Racks and the truck will have gears catching the gear racks when driving over them. The gears catching (rendered red in the image) will result in movement of the front arm and tipper as in the original model. It will also have HOG steering. I will try to stick to the original green but don't know yet if there will be enough Technic green parts for that. Obviously there is still a lot of work to do but already got the dimensions and steering that I'm happy with.

Nice MOC! In 2016 I created a sauna, showers and dressing room as part of a squash centre. I also used 'polished' Classic Spaceman but also found a naked torso with a belly.

[MOC] Nakano Camera Corner - A new district 7 cyberpunk building
Berthil replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Very nice, great details on every facade and corner! -
Sure you can. Have you checked prices? Any elevation makes a city much more interesting, not only trains or monorails. But it is hard/expensive to achieve. The Green Zone in the LEGO House is a good example of what can be done with an unlimited brick supply.

Pybricks Q&A
Berthil replied to Pybricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
On the remote I'm using the center button to switch between three modes. My Load Zone MOC on Rebrickable has the Pybricks file as a download, it's easy to see how I programmed the modes. -
@LEGO Train 12 Volts Thank you! Since you are from Italy, I had a dive at the Trimiti Islands. A lot colder than in the Caribbean and first time a saw ánd felt thermocline :)

As always with great attention to detail and excellent roof and shop front. And a new way to create awnings which is very hard as there are already so many ways to create awnings.

16 x 32 modular with 3 floors in (Dutch) colonial style. Ground floor has a scuba shop to rent out scuba dive gear. In the back a shower area to rinse off the salt water after a dive. 2nd floor has a working air compressor with pneumatics! It is operated by hand outside the modular. An attic with storage space completes the modular. This modular has a working service lift that can reach all floors and is operated by hand. A while ago I acquired my Padi diving certificate on St. Statia so connecting the Caribbean design with a Scuba Shop seemed logical. Some questions about LEGO's online Pick a Brick store
Berthil replied to Ferro-Friki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If Bricklink (or Stud.io) is used as the part (color) source, use the LEGO SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) code available through 'color images' on Bricklink to search for the part in the LEGO PAB to avoid color confusion. When searching by SKU on Bricklink and PAB they will show the color name for the same part, also with different color names. If the PAB cannot find the SKU it is not for sale on the PAB (and PAB color name does not matter) so other sources must be used to acquire the part, mostly Bricklink. Example: 1 x 1 Magenta brick code and color name on Bricklink: 6022035 Same brick in the PAB when search on code: color is called Bright Reddish Violet When buying on the LEGO PAB the new parts are cheaper than Bricklink although available later (or never available when only in sets with IP (like Starwars)). On the LEGO PAB you get free shipping, VIP points and GWP (Gift With Purchase). On Bricklink you get high shipping costs, handling fees, Paypal fees, missing inventory items and seller attitude. Lately I prefer LEGO PAB and just start another project when waiting for parts :) -
I've purchased instructions and have build this but meanwhile the Rebrickable entry has been removed! For me the model was too fragile, especially at the back section. I write 'was' because I disassembled it. I will not be making a Pybricks file for it, why should I if the model has been removed from Rebrickable.

Missing pieces in Stud.io
Berthil replied to JLiu15's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Update 2.23.3 did not fix the issue. Having the checkbox on in a previous session and closing and opening Stud.io, the checkbox is still on but the parts filter is not active. Uncheck/recheck now seems to work better, at least now the checkbox reflects the actual state of this setting after one uncheck/recheck where previously it needed multiple unchecks/rechecks to get in sync (on my iMac). This seems a good workaround but has to be done after every color change! -
Generic Contest Discussion
Berthil replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Since I'm building mostly when the 'sun don't shine' (evenings/nights) the summer hardly slows down my building and hoping the color restriction is not Lime, Black, DBG and LBG :) -
I have created free building instructions for my version of the rotary dumper and elevator. It's running very reliable, smooth, fast and consumes less battery power. Here is a Meccano version by the way, unfortunately Akiyuki is not mentioned but it is very clear where the inspiration came from. Good thing we don't have to bolt down modules and tracks to the table :)

[MOC] Jeep Grand Wagoneer 1991
Berthil replied to syzygy87's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well done! Nice detailed smooth finish on the whole build. Also not a fan of the green but understand why, may be the Landrover brings new Sand Green pieces to try in that color if you can motivate yourself to go through the whole designing process again. Not easy to do that again on a finished model. If any remark I would add some details in the back of the car, picknick basket or something like that. -

[MOC] Union Pacific Big Boy 4014, free building instructions
Berthil replied to Berthil's topic in LEGO Train Tech
@The_Cook Thank you for your feedback! I think I have solved most of your mentioned points with the remark that it is not possible to change building steps anywhere without the need to rebuild all pages from that point on forward. As you already noticed, a Herculean task so can't make any step changes without starting over again.- 50 replies

[MOC] Hanging Temple of the Big Foot Buddha
Berthil replied to Berthil's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you all! Indeed contest rules limited the baseplate to 48 x 48. By placing the gulch diagonal over the baseplate I got more room for the mountain and temple but building all rocks under an angle on the baseplate wasn't easy. Happy with how it turned out.
