Thanks for the replies, I didn't not expect such a huge response. Just wanted to know if basic steam machines were a possibility for a mine or something. On a flip note, if a galleon can take on a ship of the line, how about a Roman galley? :P

I'll slap 50 in a ship, put them all together, connect them to fans on the bottom and create a steampunk USS Enterprise ;) But yeah, no worries. Was thinking of using them in simple factories/mines

Ah okay, so for example the Watt steam engine would be allowed? As that's from 1776 and was mostly a development of the Newcomen engine, just a lot more efficient at it ^^

[COR-FB] The Conquest of Fatu Hiva pt.2
Thomas Waagenaar replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice ending of a short story! But what did the Count consider heresy? What's going to happen to the papers now? So many options for the future! ^^ -
So, I'm just gonna go ahead and ask it here... For era wise, what technology are we at give or take? Basically everything I found says "around the age of sail", but this lasted all the way until like the mid 19th century. Mostly asking since I want to build a steam engine. And the earliest steam engines are from like 1720 and their development keeps going... I personally just particularly like how the Corliss Engine looks, it's from 1849, which would mean that it's still in the age of sail, but at the end. Hence the question, what is give or take the technology level we're at in the Brick Seas?

Reconstruction of a city is not just repairing and replacing buildings. It also includes building places where people can remember the events that have happened. The Terraversan War Memorial in Kingsport is such a place. Where people can go to mourn the people they have lost due to the horrors of the war. Soldiers, who lost their comrades. Fathers, who lost their sons and daughters. Partners, who lost their lovers. Children, who lost their parents. Building memorials ensures their names will be remembered forever. Terraversan War Memorial Terraversan War Memorial OOC: I wanted to build a memorial site like the ones you see for WW1 and 2 all over Europe. And so I came up with this. It includes a large obelisk (I think that's what they're called) with characters and a cross depicted on it. On the top is an angel to represent the afterlife all these people have gone to. I also made a large wall where the names of all the deceased would have been written on. Sadly, due to this being digital, I can't really make the letters tiny. Otherwise I would have used a custom sticker to add lots of lines making it look like a massive amount of names. And it's the first try using minifigures in Studio! I definitely prefer using real minifigures, but I'm definitely not good enough at photoshop to make that happen :P. My plans are to license it as a medium Arts/Culture in Kings Port, this is in support of Oldis (Whilst not specifically Oldis, it's definitely in support of his citizens)

Just gonna put this here... Anyone from COR (or other factions) up for a small colab for Category D? I was thinking of making some kind of Checkpoint Charlie like-thing, with a little bridge in the center and guard posts and cannons aimed at each other on either side. Let me know if anyone wants to join in! ^^

Good looking shrine! I'm especially a big fan of the underground lair -
As King's Port was in shambles, and Westface wasn't sure which direction it wanted to go. A group of loggers have set out into the forest just outside of Westface. Settling near a small but rapid creek, they started clearing the area and laying the foundation for a small sawmill. Construction of the roof is still on the way but they are ready to start logging any day now! These logs and planks would be used for construction in both Westface and Kings Port, to aid the reconstruction of the cities. Small Sawmill Front-left view Small Sawmill Rear-right view Small Sawmill Waterwheel and sawblade Waterwheel design in the spoiler: OOC: I never expected this to be my first post to BOBS as I honestly haven't even started with my own SigFigs story... But I've been working non-stop on my ship (That as this point has gone way over budget, woops) and wanted to do something else for a change. Digital only as I simply do not have the bricks or budget to build anything non-story related in real bricks, sadly. So all my future things will be a mix between real life and digital too. Everything you see here is fully viable and buildable using real bricks. No fake-colours and unrealistic techniques have been used, as it's all pretty much straight forward of build. It is a 32x32 terrain, so it would licensable as a medium factory. I only called it "small" since it's small for a sawmill in my opinion. But such are the BoBS rules :P. License has been purchased by the Beauchamp Shipworks, ownership transfered to @CapOnBOBS

José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole

She is coming alone quite nicely. Once she's done I intend to license her as a class 8, I think. This because of her size and capabilities. The ship is about 80cm long on the waterline. Which is 10 large hull-pieces plus a bow piece. A class 7 would be 6 hull sections, but I feel that with 10 I'm well above that . Anyhow, I'm starting ordering parts for the brick-built cannons next week and start designing the masts properly too. 44 guns total, 30x 24 pounder long gun on the gun deck, 14x 18 pounder long gun on the top deck, 2 of which are stern-chasers. The 18 pounders can be switched around for 32 pounder carronades if needed for the task! I hope to have her done by the end of may! Able to set sail and hunt for those mystical artifacts! ^^ L'Aurelie, finished hull -

Woah, it looks stunning! I love how you did the angled pillars with SNOT, and the colours are nice and balanced too! Really tempting me to make something Japanese/Chinese too now :p
