oh I didnt know they were soft shocks. maybe not then idk. Linear Clutches if they are needed just for protection. I still badly feel the urge to put the new diffs in even though they will slow the final gear ratio down a lot... it's just because well, they're a new part which makes the model feel more special. However this topic is not nessecerily a pimp my lambo topic athough a pimped up lambo moc would be nice so you can all make your model how you want it of course Oops lol typo there
-
I made a way smaller 8 speed gearbox than whats in the pimp my bugatti and it has space for a center diff underneath it. Heh they are nicer parts :P and its easier to add a nose lift since the shocks have more mounting options The old shocks are 6.5L also and I've wanted to see something easier to work with for a long time.

I know it's a little early (3 days) but we have been seeing people make replicas and even MOD sets before they have came out so I thought I would make a threat thread to brainstorm some MODs and improvements for this set Here's my 2 cents: New Ducatti shocks on all wheels New differentials from 42109 front and rear Red 4L center differential from 42110 Make the doors open outwards more like on the real car CV joints from 42099 on the differential end of the axles. Linear clutches where necessary from 42100. Adjustable ride height like real car (IDK if it's just a nose life still or full adjustment) And heres the big one: PF motorisation, I think we can learn from recent super car MODs that you can indeed have many features and nice body work as well as cram motors in. And the new frames and biscuit joints will help make more compact mechanisms. If we want manual features too then that's not too hard actually because you just use a 9396 one way clutch mechanism but with 8T gears not 16T, so very small. PF LEDS or lego Night Mode Go Nuts!

One solution for adjustable ride height might be to use the ducatti shocks mounted to a T beam. the middle beam hole is mounted to the chassis and lets the T beam pivot. the end hole mounts the shock and the other end hole mounts the end of a mini LA. But as you said it might still not be reliable or legal. The other end of the shock of course goes to a suspention arm and the other end of the LA goes to the chassis and maybe some knob wheels to sync the left and right wheel ride height. rear axle ride height can just be the same as above but independantly controlled compared to the front axle ride height but lambos only have a nose raising feature as of the murcialago onwards at least.

Here is the finished version, I tried to move the white stepper mechanism within the buscuits but its very hard because the 20 tooth gears dont let you push any axles through the holes on a buiscuit

I could take a look at it and try to add motorised spider doors? I think the current solution is a bit "how ya doin"

YEY thanks @Philo I think I can just use pins in the pin holes or studded pins or tiles to centre the tyre :)- 5,504 replies

@Philo or someone else with the real parts, I don't suppose you know if the large spike prime wheel fits inside of the motorbike tyres? it looks like it does in LDCAD :) I mean the tyres from the lego creator harley davidson or the offroad motorbike tyre of the same size. yeah this is true, a 12 tooth idler would be nice though. The only way would be to have a part thats a female clutch ring fused to a 12 tooth idler gear in one part. it will be 2L thick though, 1L for the female clutch ring and 1L for the 12 tooth gear bit but again in just one part. The new shocks that come with the 42107 ducati can be paired with a small LA to get either adjustable suspention stroke, or adjustable ride height depending on how you hook it up.
