  1. Here's a problem that I see: If more and more companies copy lego's part molds, Then how do we tell what is genuine lego ?. No rules stipulate that they have to be the same quality. And, a butt ton of lego parts do not have the lego logo printed on it so "just print the lego logo on real lego parts" is not really a solution. I don't want the lego brand to perish because of people mistaking bad quality parts for real lego. idk if this reply is off topic or not, so pls delete if so.
  2. Lets see: only a 2 stage boom not a 3 stage, counter weight is probably a gimmicky function No gearbox or motors or function gearbox No suspention or working engine, not even a pendular axle don't buy it, 42114 costs more but has most of these features
  3. They are gone, however please see my PM. Regards, Snipe.
  4. Yes this was a cutaway from a model and will of course be braced more. You could use a drive ring and rotate the frame longways but that looked crazy for a 42054 mod :P
  5. I used this part to have gears for a diff lock:
  6. Here you go: The ball is moved up 1L because theres no parts that have a ball which do not get obstructed by the new female CV joint :/ unless you start going into weird parts/building its probably best to use these wheel hubs with the old male CV joint for now. though the mounting holes are 1L lower you can still kinda get around that.
  7. I have an unfinished project that uses a simular idea to this, except its a model inspired by hypno disc from the british tv show 'robot wars' and it uses a ring of 87745 clamped in place and driven by rubber tires on the inside of the ring. The wheels are taller than the body so that it can flip and still drive around.
  8. Thanks @TechnicBrickPower and everyone in this thread. Now for me to work on using it with the orange rotary shifters and making it more compact
  9. This post is every new part and recolor for august 2020, great post. https://www.newelementary.com/2020/08/lego-pieces-august-20-rebrickable.html
  10. nope, the closest you can do is part 48989 connector block with 4 pins.
  11. I can only add the extra motor if I have instructions or at least, an LDD file. Studio is a pain in the megablocks IMHO and I'm not talented enough to mod the original set (which I have dismatled and only have the lxf/ldraw files for I do have a ldraw file with 8 motors but its a bit messy how the guy modded it and its all power functions

  13. @LegoM4 This is amazing! and it's still neat and tidy on the outside, bravo. does it have 7 motors or 8? it would be cool to have two steering motors so you can have different steering modes like in set 42054! and the 42100 has a spare motor output sicne it has 7 motors. Any chance you can replicate this model again but as a digital model? I wanna build this so bad :).
  14. @sariel this is what I was talking about before re your automatic gearbox idea. you might wanna put a half bush or full bush at the end of the spring instead of a 1x1 beam because the spring coils have a tendancy to get stuck in the groove or an axle hole and then unwind their coils which obvioustly damages them. Since axle holes don't have this groove, it fixes that, (eg: a half bush.) Regards, S
  15. Wew I just realized something when building the 42114, you can fit the white linear clutch inside of the black half of a mini turntable Now you have a 28 tooth bevel/spur gear with a built in linear clutch. The white half meshes with the turntable while the DBG half can rotate independantly if theres too much load, otherwise it rotates with the white half, And the turntable and clutch seperate with no damage. Note that it only wants to go in a certain direction, the opposite way just pops out. It's almost like they were made for each other. Ill upload the photos and video when my computers start working
  16. I want to replace the small turntable behind the cabin with a large turntable. And add ducatti shocks to each wheel.
  17. Full RC would be cool. it has been done but they are a bit of a bodge job in places
  18. Indeed but we all know that we will use it as a trailer hitch :) Also those 1x4L tiles can be used on tank tracks, as see in the LEGO nintendo NES + TV set.

  20. Cracked it!. I needed to have a way to mount the gears and housing as well as the dark bluish gray wheel so that they allow an axle to slide in and out through it yet still rotate. Here's a video of it working: https://youtu.be/CIRMnGynUJE The pin with ball joint changes the blade pitch. The rotation is just done with a red frictionless 8 tooth gear which is stepped down to a pair of 12 tooth bevel gears (I will replace this with a 20+12 thin bevel gear pair actually for more torque). Also the wheel hub allows the axle to slide through the axle hole whilst still keeping the wheel clamped to the gear housing. This was the hardest part. One slight problem that needs fixing is the two discs can still slide along the axle because of the friction working against them. Also everything needs to be placed inside of a 7 x 11 technic frame since the spring keeps forcing the beams apart but now that I have a working prototype (the hardest part) the rest is easy. ldcad file coming soon! Regards, Snipe.
  21. Solved it :) The first idea I had was to replace the 47501s with 3164s and attach the blades onto the two studs but this made the blades angle in and out on the wrong axis though it did look kinda cool. I actually, made the blades rotate in yet the 3rd wrong axis last night, which also looked kinda cool because it could also be used to unfold the blades like an umbrella. I'll post the other two designs just for fun soon in this reply. So then I figured out that I could just use some 32138s along with a thin beam and axle pins. One oversight I had was, since the blades are now pinned to the gark bluish gray wheel, I need a way to clamp the wheel together with the red gear while alllowing the axle to slide through it as well as rotate.
  22. So I finally figured out how to make a super compact blade pitch and rotation mechanism *yey*: This has been tested IRL except I didn't have part 47501 so I just used a 1x2 plate and two pins with stud. Here's how it works: (The VTOL axle is hidden here but will still be present) The mini turntables are in the same place as the original model. The ball joint is actually not just tied to the VTOL line, it is its own function axle so you can change the blade pitch in VTOL or normal mode. Here is the LDR file Perhaps someone (Maybe @efferman ?) can figure out a way to attach the blades? The pinholes should really be on the sides not on top so the blades are awkward to mount. Regards, Snipe
  23. Today I did a quick and simple mod of replacing the white 2L pin joiners and friction axle pins under the wings with just 4L axles, because for some reason, When I turned the motor on, the axles were rotating just fine on both sides until it got to one of the white pin joiners on one side, then it stopped. However the other side worked fine on both sides of the pin joiner. The 42100 linear clutch is still activated when the VTOL is at its max or minimum rotation and even if the blades or spinning or stationary.
  24. Wow I had no idea that it takes that long to design a set :O
