  1. Anything is possible. LEGO is still making Clone Wars sets and that show went off the air 4-5 years ago. And we have a long time to go (well over a year) before sets for Episode IX show up. But I would expect the last 2018 wave to include a mix of sets from various movies, esp. if we're getting both the Resistance Transport (TLJ) and V-19 Torrent (CW) in it. No. It was just depicted as an example. Expect mostly older and poorly-selling sets to be on sale.
  2. Kylo's TIE was listed as an example of one of the sets that would be on sale in an ad that LEGO sent to catalog subscribers/VIP members. So pretty much assured that it will be on sale.
  3. Yes he did, along with the V-19. They’re just not the set numbers previously reported, so presumably coming in the last wave of sets later in the year.
  4. LEGO can put whatever figs they want into whatever sets they want, so long as WB doesn't object. If/when we ever get GoF sets again, and there is a set with a dragon in it, Rita could easily appear in it... or in most any other set for that matter. That said, I think a CMF is also a likely place she would show up.
  5. 3 Solo sets (train, hauler, Enfys Speeders), TLJ Snoke Throneroom, Luke's X-Wing, Anakin's Yellow Starfighter (Ep 2/CW design), Sandcrawler (smaller than UCS). A couple of retailer exclusives TBD. The first four have been reported by multiple sources, but not seen. The other named sets were pictured in a retailer catalog. Later in the year: Advent calendar, supposedly a UCS-style Porg in scale with BB-8, and possibly some other unknown sets before the end of the year.
  6. Yeah, seems like you'd have to cover the entire mold in bricks to get the shaggy texture needed for a bantha (sort of like how they did the bantha in the movie!) which doesn't seem all that practical.
  7. Right, that’s my point. When you present rumors as facts, you just give them credibility they’re not necessarily due. When you answer a question asking β€œwhat are the figs?” without qualifying your response, it sounds like you actually know. When you don’t. All it takes is adding β€œsupposedly” or β€œrumored to be” to your response.
  8. Next time, if you’re not confident of the information you’re providing or are quoting a rumor, identify that upfront. A lot of people here interpreted the above quote as solid info, when it’s not.
  9. Peeves was filmed for the movie but cut because the director wasn’t happy with the end result. That doesn’t, however, mean we are getting a minifig of him. It would really help if, if instead of describing the set descriptions you have found, you could quote them in their entirety or better yet, link to them. It’s really hard to differentiate the info you say you’ve found from your own speculation/interpretation.
  10. The Aragog set is supposed to be very small (~150 pieces). It's highly unlikely this would be enough pieces to build both a car and Aragog (unless both are incredibly small/simple). The Shelob set from Lord of the Rings had over 200 pieces and it only included the spider and a very small archway build for Gollum. Actually they have, and recently. Officially released "preview" photos of the Solo Millennium Falcon deliberately omitted 2-3 minifigs (low-res photos of which had already leaked several weeks earlier... leading many to believe that the figs had been cut) but they are indeed in the final set. HP sets have historically emphasized minifigs, and tend to have substantially more figs for the money than most other licensed sets like Star Wars.
  11. This is kind of hard to parse without seeing first-hand what the guy actually wrote, but most of this sounds accurate as far as what has been leaked so far. But therein lies the problem: it's almost entirely information we already knew. New rat and mouse molds were already revealed in the Great Hall and Birthday CMF, respectively, and a new cat mold has been discussed ever since the prospect of an HP CMF was raised. There's also been a lot of speculation that only the students in the Great Hall will have short legs, since that is based on the first movie, and that the remaining sets, Hogwarts D2C, CMF, etc., would have articulated legs. So no real news there. As has been discussed already, Peeves could be mistaken for Sir Nicholas, and Tom Riddle could just be "hidden" in Quirrel's turban. So, the long and the short of it is, this guy might have actual information or he might just be aggregating leaks he's found and adding his own speculation. Which happens a LOT.
  12. I think you're right and you're wrong here. Right that these three sets appear to each be focused on a different year (1/2/3) which is something that doclord and others have been suggesting for months now. Wrong that this means the line will only go on for one or two waves, and that the next wave will round out the remaining years/books. The principal reason being that LEGO has clearly invested a LOT of resources into rebooting the HP line, and would not realistically do so if they intended to wrap it up in two waves. And, there are 3 more FB movies planned after CoG, which they'll certainly want to promote with new sets (HP sets included). There isn't solid confirmation about the Anglia as far as I've read. There is (seemingly reliable) confirmation that it includes a tower from the castle, which is the portion that connects to the Great Hall. The Anglia bit originated in an old list of set descriptions (which is at best partially inaccurate, and at worst someone's wishlist with some lucky guesses) in which the set was supposedly called "Anglia Escape" (which we now know to really be "Whomping Willow").
  13. He says on page 78: "The toy fair figures are all half finished stand ins, only look at the press release figures. We based these sets on movies 1 and 2 with a few bits from 3 added for flavour, it is Dumbledore, which actor we don't like to say."
  14. He answers questions on pages 75-78.
  15. It's pretty early to be speculating on what comes after this wave β€” we don't even know all the sets we're getting this year at this point β€” though of course that hasn't stopped any of us. They could still do more sets from 1 or 2 and especially 3 in the next wave, for instance. I doubt they will rush through the movies if the first wave of sets sells well.
  16. When the Great Hall was announced at NY Toy Fair, the designer of the set answered some questions about it here and volunteered some info like what deskp mentioned. It seemed far more legit than most of the stuff that gets discussed here, but you'll have to judge for yourself. It's back in February of this year, I believe.
  17. But what's the source of that clipping? If it's an official Lucasfilm-authored publication, I would accept that as accurate. If it's a magazine, it could just be the writer making assumptions, or not having all the information.
  18. The list of characters could leak any time between now and then, and there has been at least one purported list already, though most people believe it to be fake or at best inaccurate. Photos would likely leak a month or so before release, and official photos distributed some weeks before release. But LEGO is doing things a little differently with this line, so anything is possible.
  19. It’s August. That may be the 1st or the 31st, or anywhere in between. The April CMF was released on the 1st, for reference. And the D2C is now rumored be coming out closer to Christmas, or so some say. These things are all subject to change... a few of the SW products in the catalog have been cancelled, for instance.
  20. The LEGO retailer catalog clearly shows 22 figs for the August CMF.
  21. The mix of figures in a licensed CMF is fairly predictable. Any Harry Potter CMF will include at least one variant of Harry, Ron and Hermione... There's simply no way an HP poly bag would not include Harry, etc. front and center on it. With 22 figures in the series, it should also include a few of the "second string" of main characters like Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall, Draco, etc. The rest will be obscure, quirky characters that might not ever make it into a future set (I would put characters like the Dursleys in this category, along with house ghosts, The Fat Lady, etc.) Characters who also appear in other sets will be differentiated by additional detail (dual-molded arms/legs, side arm/leg printing, soft goods, accessories, etc.) or unique outfits/variants (Hermione as Millicent's Cat, Ron Barfing Slugs, Harry in Quidditch Uniform, Harry/Ron in Christmas Sweaters, etc.) There is plenty of precedent for this... just look at the Disney, Simpsons, LEGO Movie, LEGO Batman Movie, and LEGO Ninjago Movie CMFs, all of which follow this formula.
  22. At this point, generally speaking, yes. There have probably been a few exceptions, years ago, such as the smaller SW UCS sets. Note that in the US, some lower-priced sets are shared LEGO/retailer exclusives, so those aren't technically D2C but they also aren't widely available. There are supposed to be a few retailer exclusives for HP, such as the rumored Quidditch set, which I think is for Target? Many D2C sets also start out LEGO exclusives and then become available at larger retailers a few months later (the UCS Falcon, for instance, became available outside of LEGO at the start of the year.) The what-is-and-isn't-a-UCS-set debate is a deep, dark (and incredibly tedious) black hole that you don't want to go down.
  23. UCS is a label applied to Star Wars D2C sets. Hogwarts (assuming it exists) would be D2C, not UCS.
  24. I think a lot of people will pick up multiples of the Thestral set, especially in the US where it is just $20.
  25. They were released last Friday, but some stores seem not to stocking them on shelves yet... they may be waiting for this Friday since the date seemed to be April 20 at one point. Target had them online, last I checked.
