  1. So, let me get this straight. You heard from a video Just2Good posted, who heard it from a post by FalconFan, who heard it from BrickFanatics? That is your idea of a credible source? And more importantly, do they have any info on how Ferris is doing? Because I heard he’s like, really really sick or something. $39.99. 373 pieces.
  2. I've said pretty much all I can say... but that info is incorrect, unless he's quoting Canadian prices perhaps?
  3. That's still not the name of the set. In any event, you're entitled to believe whatever you want to believe. I'm just suggesting that you temper your "educated assumptions" a bit so that when reality doesn't live up to them, you're not disappointed. A reminder that this is a small set... and just because characters appeared on a barely-identifiable skiff in a brief shot of the teaser trailer, doesn't mean LEGO will follow suit. Plenty of examples showing just the opposite.
  4. Umm... Where did you read that exactly?
  5. The figures we've seen all appear to be leaking from the same factory. Not all sets are produced at all factories. So we may never see leaks from certain sets, if other factories don't have the same security problems that this factory has. I would put the chances of that happening at near-zero. I think it's worth pointing out there that the contents of this set β€” and its figures β€” are not yet known publicly. There are a lot assumptions going around. Assumptions are often wrong.
  6. The list you saw was conjecture, from before the European city codenames for Episode 9 characters began to show up everywhere. And, LEGO does not generally use codenames for products based on already-released movies... typically only the upcoming movie gets them.
  7. The tusken raider's torso print is also new.
  8. I'm not the one throwing a fit. Just trying to get those of you who are, to see things from a different point of view.
  9. This is generally what's known as "revisionist history". He didn't just say "another minifig is coming" and nothing else. He said it was female, different from the leaked characters we've gotten, that it should be leaking soon, and that it looked really good. That's at least three details β€” gender, timing, and quality β€” more than you had before his post. It's not a lot I admit, but it's something, and something is better than nothing. (You can debate the value of that information all you want. But again: it's not for you to tell people here not to share their info, opinions, etc. If you don't like hearing incomplete info, there are easy solutions: Don't read it. Ignore it. Block the guy. But please, please, please: stop chewing up pages and pages with self-entitled complaints about it.) I don't know this Renown guy, have never interacted with him before today, so for all I know he's having a go at you all. I am inclined to believe him, though, since around the same time as his post, I was shown a pic of a new fig (female) that looked pretty good, and the past several times I've seen similar photos, they've shown up on Instagram within a day or two. Perhaps it's just coincidence, but if it's not, and Renown has other info he might have shared here, he's certainly read enough to know that this is the last place in the world he should share it. (Oh, and to head off the inevitable next twenty questions: No, I won't say more about the fig, in no small part because I know that answering one simple question leads to another and another and another, each asked with a greater sense of entitlement, and then the inevitable "can't you DM it to me" and "what's your source" and "prove you're not lying" and so on.) I'll say this again, as plain as I can in hopes that maybe this time it sinks in: you guys really need to grow up. Three year-olds expect the people around them to cater to their demands, respond to their every whim, endlessly adapt to their needs and desires on a moment's notice. The real (adult) world does not operate this way. People share what they want to share when they want to share it; it won't always (or even, often) be to your liking. They have their reasons β€” reasons which aren't subject to your scrutiny or approval. Balrog is now laying down the terms of discourse that would "satisfy" him.... uh, seriously? Did you read your own post? Shall those of us with actual info run it through your personal filter to ensure it meets your exacting standards, before posting? Perhaps you guys would like to form a committee to decide who gets to share info and who doesn't, and whether a post is substantive enough to be published? (It probably doesn't matter, since anyone with a lick of sense knows to turn around and head elsewhere, after reading the above dozen or so posts.) This place used to be an actual resource for new information, provided by the insiders and leakers and data miners who frequented this forum. It has devolved into little more than an echo chamber for people to react to whatever showed up overnight on Instagram. It's just... sad.
  10. I feel like I have to say this every six months or so, but here goes again: people are selective about the information they post for all sorts of reasons. Maybe Renown has been told by his source not to reveal it yet, and in the interest of getting more leaks from the source, he's respecting their wishes. Maybe revealing it would "out" his source for some reason. Maybe he's waiting for confirmation about a detail and doesn't want to post something inaccurate. Maybe he's concerned that, with LEGO cracking down on leakers more and more, revealing too much too soon would expose him or his source, if the info has been selectively planted by LEGO. In any event, there are many reasons not to share every detail with everyone, outweighing your seemingly insatiable need to know everything anyone else knows, as soon as they know it. Regarding the secrecy attached to Star Wars information versus other themes: that starts with Disney/Lucasfilm. As Star Wars is a licensed theme, LEGO is under a lot more pressure to keep things under wraps than they are with a new modular, or the next wave of City sets, or whatever. LEGO caught a lot of cr@p from Disney over the Last Jedi leaks (which came before most of the designs had been revealed by Lucasfilm), and so there is more pressure up and down the food chain to ensure that doesn't happen again. That pressure trickles down, even all the way down to Joe and Mary Leaker revealing a set name here or a photo on Instagram or wherever. So don't equate Star Wars with other themes, even other licensed themes. They're different animals. I understand that it can be frustrating to not have all the facts, and it's easy to see people withholding information as being on some kind of power/ego trip. But my experience with the more informed people here is generally the opposite. The fact is, there are always going to be people on this forum who know more than you do about this stuff. And beyond this forum, there are others that know even more. Just the fact that you're here means you know more than 99% of the people who buy LEGO. Can you not be content with that? Regardless of how much more or less I know than you or anyone else here, I am perfectly fine with others knowing more than me. I can accept that, because I'm an adult and I am patient. I do not feel the need to pressure other users into revealing their info, or berate them incessantly the fill in the gaps in my knowledge; I'd rather have a little info, than no info at all. That information will come when it comes, but it will come quicker if it's not met with the kind of reaction you and a few others seem intent on bringing, over and over, when it's not as complete as you would like. You are not the sole arbiter of what gets posted here; telling people not to share incomplete information isn't your call. You can whine and moan about how unfair or unhelpful it is and act like petulant children who want Christmas to come every day but all you're doing is discouraging those with actual info from sharing it on this forum. There is a reason people like Sir von LEGO, Azani, Tidy, and probably a dozen others have left this place. The only people being immature and ridiculous here are you. The only people bringing the toxicity are you. Keep it up; you're only hurting yourselves.
  11. The problem with sharing even a little bit of info here is that it inevitably leads to demands for more and more information, or worse, a slew of skeptical challenges to prove that your info is legit. Makes those with actual intel wary of posting here at all.
  12. We also have two sets confirmed by LEGO themselves, complete with official set photos.
  13. Well, you're comparing Creator Expert Modulars to Creator Expert Fairground sets, which despite both being in the same line, don't appeal to the same number of buyers. Fairground sets are more sporadic β€” I think there are only 5 so far, over a 10 year span, versus 1 modular a year for 11+ years running. There are typically only 1-2 fairground sets available at any given time, versus 4 (or even 5, in a few recent years) for the modulars. Simply put, modulars are kept around longer because they continue to sell. Each new modular helps bring more modular collectors into the fold, and to effectively build a modular city, you need a critical mass of buildings. If there were only 1-2 available at once, they probably wouldn't sell nearly as well overall, since new buyers would see them in isolation, rather than as one part of a more expansive whole. Fairground is more of a niche segment of the Expert line. I tend to think of it as a subset of the modular collectors... people with the room/money to expand their city to include an amusement park as well. Some sets retire more quickly because of lack of demand. Parisian Restaurant should have retired last year (or the year before it?) but instead Brick Bank and Detective's Office did, out of order (in terms of release date). One can reasonably infer that PR is still a popular set that sells consistently, and that BB, on the other hand, did not. We can't know for sure of course, but there has been anecdotal evidence supporting this over the years. I'm not aware of the PR price dropping worldwide... that might be a regional thing based on currency conversion or some other factor. And, looking at more than just the Expert line... sets tend to retire faster/slower based on size. The smallest sets ($10-15) often only last 6-9 months. The largest regular retail sets ($100+) typically remain on shelves for 18+ months. D2C (Direct to Consumer) sets like the modulars (increasingly $150+) usually go for 2 years or more. But there are exceptions, which seem to be demand-driven. The original UCS Death Star playset lasted 7 years.... and then the most recent UCS Snowspeeder only made it Β±15 months. One sold really, really well for a sustained period of time; the other didn't.
  14. You guys reallllllly need to stop biting the hands that feed you. For anyone curious why everyone who actually has inside information (like tidy) eventually gives up on this place: this is why.
  15. Yeah, it's pretty unlikely they would attach such a small item to a set that expensive, especially considering they won't sell nearly as many Star Destroyers as they would make of the polybag. It's more likely to be a GWP of $50-60 for Triple Force Friday or the week/end that the Star Destroyer is released.
  16. Wake up. Check. Is the sun shining? Check. Are the birds chirping? Check. Has the Eurobricks 2019 Star Wars Set Discussion thread once again been driven wildly off-topic by another vaguely-related tangent? Check. Welp, time to start the day!
  17. How do I fast-forward through the next 30-40 "another land speeder set?!?" posts?
  18. It's on the list not two posts above yours. Because it's a cheap hero vehicle that sells well to kids, makes an easy birthday present purchase by parents, etc.
  19. Good lord. When I posted in this thread over a year ago I never imagined a) it would still be active today or b) my suggesting that splintering the Arctic/Jungle/Volcano subthemes into a separate Explorers line would prove so controversial... or elicit this kind of vitriol. I hate it when people say this to me but in this case I think it fits: It's just a toy. Hardly worth this much energy.
  20. The January set list (and even the October list) did leak very early, yes. But that was partly because a certain YouTuber ignored warnings that publishing the info so early would jeopardize future leaks. I think in past years advance info like that has been kept under wraps longer by those in the know. It's worth noting that sometimes conventional wisdom about future sets is just plain wrong... the recently-announced Jurassic Park/World D2C being a very good example of expectations falling far afield of what is actually on tap. "Group think" at work...
  21. The treehouse is, I believe, the largest Ideas set to date. From what I've heard, it's taken LEGO more time than usual to get the set ready for market... something about it being a complicated build. So it coming "out of order" relative to other Ideas releases isn't all that unexpected. The figs from the set may leak early, or they may leak late, or they may not leak at all. But I would expect at least a handful of new torso and face prints for it. But whether or not figs leak from the treehouse doesn't have much of anything to do with when the Friends set is released. Figs leaking from the Friends set, on the other hand, is a pretty good indicator (based on what we've seen with previously leaked figs/sets) of when the Friends set will release. The anniversary of the TV show (Sep 22) is another fairly strong indicator, since LEGO will want to capitalize on it from a marketing perspective. So, mid-August to mid-September is a pretty good guesstimate.
  22. If the figs are leaking, the release is likely only a few months away. That's generally how it works.
  23. I think you're overlooking the "not" in tidy's original statement.
