  1. Is it worth pointing out that we just got an all-new UCS set only a month ago? You can't expect everything, all of the time.
  2. The Advent includes ANH Luke.
  3. Yowza! That is steep indeed. I’m no expert in secondary market prices, but seems to me that is exactly twice what the going rate for a UCS Imperial Shuttle ought to be.
  4. Man you guys sure know how to go down a rabbit hole. Perhaps this will help you dig out. It's time to get up, and stomp your feetTo this great foot-stomping Transylvanian beat!Stomp nice and slow (one, two...)Then speed up more (one, two, three, four!)Then stomp away! Cause we're about to find out the number of the day!So what's the number? (stomp stomp)What's the number? (stomp stomp)What is the number -er -er -er?The number of the day,Well let me tell ya, shorty,The number of the day is... Forty!
  5. No offense but that seems kind of dumb. If anyone stands a chance of getting the Razor Crest on its original release date, it would be the people who originally preordered it. There is no downside to leaving your preorder as-is. They don’t charge you card until the order ships.
  6. The CMF Birthday Party Boy hair piece would work reasonably well for ROTJ Luke — same basic shape but a bit more detail in the sculpt — but it only comes in that very bright yellow. https://www.lego.com/en-us/kids/characters/minifigures/birthday-party-boy-ecd3df4e92a34af4a103694c35c36b7b
  7. I wonder if some of you are confusing Clone Wars sets with Rebels sets, which by multiple accounts did sell pretty poorly. I believe a LEGO rep said as much in a Brickset interview, and one or two resellers said they went over like lead balloons, to the point where they weren't interested in ordering more of them... Several Rebels sets retired much earlier than would be expected (the Ghost retired before the second season even began, if I recall correctly, and A-Wing/TIE set within 6 months in some markets, whereas sets that large typically last 18-24 months). I've been collecting LEGO since the first Star Wars sets were introduced, and this is the first time I've seen anyone suggest Clone Wars sets (specifically, independent of larger market conditions) did not sell well. I know the face prints were almost universally despised, but it seems like the sets themselves engendered a lot of love from the LEGO community. Having said all that, I think LEGO could have put more effort into the sets being released in this wave, especially those from the Clone Wars/prequels. The Star Wars line is clearly operating on a smaller budget this year (and next, from the look of it). Which is a shame.
  8. They are not retired. COVID-19 is causing disruption to the supply chain (factories closed, etc.) so stock is constrained on many of the more popular sets. Once factories reopen you should see stock return to retailers (and lego.com) within a month or so.
  9. And yet people will still complain. D2C sets generally have a 2+ year development cycle, so any release date before 2022 would be pretty aggressive. Especially considering they acknowledged no work had begun on it prior to the vote.
  10. I'm so glad you're expending this much energy debating this really important point, rather than doing something truly productive like gazing at your navel.
  11. Unless I am misreading the quotes in the article, it seems they are confirming this will be larger than minifig scale.
  12. That is a pleasant fantasy, but it's completely, utterly unrealistic, at least at a scale anyone would be happy with.
  13. It was never real. Everything about the initial set description screamed "fake", and yet it lived on in the imaginations of this forum for months and months.
  14. Poe is in just two TROS sets: Y-Wing and X-Wing.
  15. Step 1: Get a job at LEGO. Step 2: Leak things. Step 3: Get fired. (Just kidding! There is no step 3.) Be sure to tell them your intentions when you apply. It’s sure to help you through the door.
  16. Lego doesn’t explain decisions like this. But if I had to guess, it was probably because the rebel pilot helmet was universally despised. The stormtrooper helmet wasn’t embraced by everyone, but it didn’t get the same kind of backlash.
  17. Wow. With praise like that I'd definitely feel encouraged to "carry on".
  18. There are several good pictures and schematics of this TIE variant in the TIE Fighter Owners' Workshop Manual book. I also assumed this was just a TIE Bomber until I saw it in the book.
  19. Can a moderator please put this thread out of its misery before it takes on a life of its own?
  20. Bear in mind that a lot of us won't even consider buying a MOC that hasn't been built in real bricks... I've tried to build too many digital-only MOCs that just fall apart when you try to build them, to the point where I rarely even look twice at something that's depicted solely in renders. LDD and Stud.io can't really account for weight or balance or stability, and make it too easy to position parts that are just floating there, without actual connections to the larger build. If your goal is to sell instructions for your MOC, do yourself a favor and build it in actual bricks. Modify your design to ensure it's stable and balanced and stands upright, as needed. You'll sell more instructions and become a better MOC designer in the process.
  21. Your EU prices include VAT, which can be as much as 20% of the listed price. US prices do not include sale tax, so a $100 US set typically costs consumers closer to $110. It's still not entirely equitable, but it's not as bad as it often seems to people in the EU. (And some themes are priced lower in the EU than the US, like many of the creator expert sets).
  22. Maybe, but the AT-AT doesn't really relate to the other sets in the wave, and as the flagship set (and an ESB 40th anniversary tie-in) it could easily stand alone as its own announcement. There is also still a long time between now and August during which the other sets could be revealed. But, who knows.
  23. It's on the UK Star Wars twitter feed, not their Facebook page. Hence the confusion. If I had to guess, this was probably meant to all go live at a future date, and images and tweets and such were queued up for publication whenever LEGO made the official announcement (e.g., via the Star Wars Show, or at least their own twitter feed). Then Amazon Japan accidentally posted the images early, and the UK social media managers followed suit. Again, just a guess, but would explain why it's not been fully promoted yet.
  24. Not seeing it, if so. If it were officially announced, I would expect to see a press release, or at least a tweet from LEGO, and the product would show up on the LEGO website within a few hours... a day at most.
  25. It hasn't been officially announced yet; otherwise it would appear on LEGO's website. But even if it were, there's no reason to think it would be available for preorder on LEGO's website. The helmets and D-0 weren't when they were added to the site, nor is the $30 not-a-501st-battle-pack, which is part of the same wave as the AT-AT.
