I would not treat that price as fact. -

Not really. We got an August wave in 2018 (second wave of Solo sets, Snoke’s Throneroom, X-Wing). The sets were revealed in a private viewing event in June if I recall correctly. -

Seems odd that LEGO would omit the seam between the same two parts in 5+ product renders, across two sets and two part colors. -

I know it is fashionable for some of you to blame Disney for all the ills in the world, but the more likely (and less conspiracy theorist) explanation is the fact that factories and shipments are disrupted, demand for Lego is through the roof given everyone is stuck at home with nothing to do and kids to entertain, and Lego simply sees no upside in discounting what stock they have left to sell. -

You must be new to this game. So they can put out another, slightly upgraded version next year, of course. -

I don't have any problem with people posting the photos they find. Nor do I even care if they trickle them out bit by bit (which I understand others are particularly upset about right now). What I do find problematic is people broadcasting where they find the images, because it only ends up burning that source for future images and "leaks". -

These sorts of leaks come from (usually small European or Asian) resellers who load the images into their server once they receive them LEGO. If the reseller’s identity had not been broadcast to the world when these pics were first discovered, more photos might have been mined from the reseller’s site before LEGO shut it down. But unfortunately certain “leakers” don’t think these things through in the rush to be first. So at this point you just have to wait to see if another reseller does the same. -

[MOC] UCS Nebulon-b frigate (by Dranac, feat. onecase))
jdubbs replied to Dranac's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oftentimes, MOC designers put all the buried/hidden/invisible parts in red, which can then be swapped to any color. There is probably a note about this in the description. -

Personally I don’t think it can be greatly improved upon with the parts currently available. Multi-dimensional curves are always hard to pull off in LEGO and A sphere that size would be either a studdy mess or a bunch of plates with gaps between them, like the last Death Star II. -

We just got an all-new UCS set, not yet on shelves, so it's a bit soon to bemoan "another re-release". Not to mention an all-new gunship coming next year, with an all-new TIE Bomber and/or Medical Frigate likely to follow thereafter. That's a lot of potential new sets.... there are bound to be at least as many reissues in between them all, given LEGO's past cadence. -

Not sure you need to make that argument, it's generally considered to be fact. The Imperial shuttle was also minifig-scale. One of the few remaining UCS sets I wouldn't mind seeing updated... -

LEGO said to expect updates about the Gunship in 2021. So, don't expect it to be the next UCS set. -

The last polybag figure was from Solo, almost two years ago, so I don't think Hasbro's new license had anything to do with it, since that was just finalized a few months ago. -

Since the reveal of the UCS A-Wing is imminent, here is a handy-dandy checklist for you to craft your complaints! [ ] TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS?!? This set should have been {insert your own absurdly low and completely unrealistic number here!}. [ ] IT’S WAAAAAY TOO BIG!!! This isn’t to scale with any of the other UCS sets I didn’t buy! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! This set should have been minifig scale, like all the other UCS sets. Oh, wait... [ ] ONLY {redacted} PIECES?!? The UCS Y-Wing had 300 more pieces at the same price. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! All parts are clearly created equal and thus this should have exactly the same number of parts (or more) as all previous $200 sets or else it’s a complete ripoff! …and a variation if you want to get creative: [ ] THE PRICE PER PART (PPP) is 12¢?!? THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Previous UCS sets have averaged .1¢ lower than this! Disney tax at work once again! [ ] ONLY ONE MINIFIG IN A UCS SET?!? Even the Star Destroyer had 2 minifigs! [ ] TOO MANY STUDS!!! This MOC I found with 10,000 pieces had fewer studs and is clearly better! LEGO designers can’t design for $#!T! [ ] NOT ENOUGH STUDS!!! Anio’s MOC had way more studs and is clearly better! LEGO designers can’t design for $#!T! [ ] WHY ISN’T IT {Insert your color here}?!? Did it have to be dark red? I have some dark red bricks that broke! I wanted it to be {blue/green/turquoise} to match {whatever obscure Legends variant I prefer}! You’re welcome. -

It really depends on the Advent. There are some that lend themselves to it and others that don't. And some that function as pretty good parts packs, regardless of the figs. It's maybe not cost-effective at full price, but they drop 20% (or more) sometime before Christmas and tend to remain discounted until they sell out the next year. -

I don't recall this ever happening. Typically we get 3-4 unnamed, massable figures pulled from the prior year's sets — Cloud Car Pilot, Bespin Guard, Stormtroopers and Rebel Soldiers, an officer of some kind. Battle droids a plenty. This year is uncommon in that we are getting multiple named/primary characters, more like the Harry Potter Advent from last year. -

The shop is wrong. It is not. The snowspeeder was an even smaller vehicle (in-universe) and it was $200. -

I think Disney would kill for a repeat of Baby Yoda. The publicity generated from that reveal was clearly worth whatever they sacrificed in immediate merchandising profits.
