It seems LEGO will reveal anything but Jedi Bob's Starfighter, which will obviously be legendary. -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I like both sets for what they are, but man, these prices are ridiculous. It was a good choice to focus more on the Sarlacc this time, with a smaller Desert Skiff imo. The minifigures are fine, nothing particularly interesting. It's a good set — if it was 60€ at most. I think that the Duel on Peridea is actually fantastic. The minifigures are awesome, and while the build may be boring for most, I like those kind of minimalist display pieces. The problem, yet again, is the price. Why would anyone be willing to pay 55€ for a grey baseplate with a few minifigures? -

That set is just plain boring imo. Helicarrier feels completely irrelevant at this point, they're like 10 years late. The price is just bad. You pay 60€ for 500 pieces and no minifigures? Yeah, no thanks. At least they should've included a data plate with an exclusive minifigure, like the Winter Soldier. -
It's honestly really cool that Batman's suit from Caped Crusader is basically the first appearance suit with black gloves. You could take the DC CMF 1939 Batman, change his lavender hands to black ones, and you have the Caped Crusader Batman. I'd still love to get some sets for it tho — the villains look so unique. Getting these versions of Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Clayface would be fantastic. Could also be an opportunity to get our first Onomatopoeia.

That is, if we get sets at all. There are four possible scenarios: 1. No sets, Batman reigns supreme 2. No sets, Batman reigns supreme, BUT Superman appears in a single set (re-used comic version) 3. We get a single set with Supes, Lois and Lex (and a generic vehicle) 4. We actually get a full wave with various superheroes and supervillains

What I want: dark azure and red colours, new torso print (with a beautiful yellow belt), dual-moulded legs with printed underwear, and a cape with a printed symbol (a moulded one could work well because of its shape) What LEGO will give us: blue and red colours, new torso print... maybe printed underwear instead of just a red hip piece They messed up Battinson so much that I don't have any hope honestly. The suit is really simple, but requires a lot of effort from LEGO, which they just don't have for DC. Maybe I'm being a bit pessimistic, but I really hope they don't mess this one up.

Genuine question — why do you buy every single set? I think we can all agree that, especially recently, most of the sets are somewhere between lacklustre and plain bad. I get the urge to be a completionist, but... is it really worth it? Don't you ever want to just stop, and collect the sets you actually really like (unless you somehow like them all )?

Because it has to do with people overestimating both his acting abilities and popularity. Some people, mostly Snyder fans, have acted like he's one of the hottest names in Hollywood, but not only isn't he popular enough to carry a movie (because all the ones he did flopped), he's also not a particularly great actor. He works in certain types of roles (he was great in The Witcher and M:I — Fallout), but he doesn't have a lot of range.

Not really. Cavill works in certain roles, but I feel like people have really overestimated his acting ability and popularity. He's handsome and he sounds like an extremely cool guy to know, but it's not like he's a great actor, nor is his draw big enough to make a movie financially successful (The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Argylle, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare). Gal Gadot is just an awful actress all-around tho. Haven't seen her in any role that I could even classify as mediocre. People only like seeing her on screen because she's beautiful, but she absolutely cannot act at all.

It's even more painful when you get reminded that once upon a time Super Heroes sets had awesome names like Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas or The Goat Boat. Now the latter would just be named Thor with the Goats and a Boat and Mighty Thor and King Valkyrie and Korg vs. Gorr. -

Absolutely love this set. The sheer audacity to make something so random and out of place alone makes me want to give it a big applaud. The Falcon itself is well-built, like all of them are, but this time in black. Nothing special. The minifigures tho. The greatest, strangest selection I've ever seen in a set. Everyone looks awesome. I don't really have even a single complaint. -

"Iron Man with Bike and the Hulk" how about I storm your HQ with a pitchfork LEGO, how about that? The funniest part is the word "bike". It's so generic. They didn't even bother to use either "motorbike" or "motorcycle". Just "bike", which sounds more like Iron Man is on his ride to school than anything. -
Just buy whatever you like. I try to limit myself to as few sets as possible, the necessities if you will. The only theme I buy at least a single set from every wave is Ninjago. I usually buy smaller sets (usually 20–40€, but I buy a few bigger ones every year (up to 100€), and if there's a huge set based on a property I love and know will never become a theme, I can buy that too (Stranger Things, planning on buying the D&D set too).

No it's not. We all love LEGO and DC here, but let's not act like LEGO cares about it even half as much as they do about Marvel. The latter got five times as many sets this year as the former (exactly 5 vs 25). The content argument is also totally irrelevant. Name one MCU movie coming out this year that LEGO has made a set for? Oh right, there aren't any. The one movie MCU has this year is something LEGO can't capitalise on. Same goes for the TLBM argument. It got made because LEGO and WB had an agreement, and so they thought combining LEGO and Batman into one movie was a good idea (it was the best idea). The thing is, LEGO works with Universal now. If they worked with Sony, we'd get a LEGO Spider-Man movie (at that point, maybe not now). Marvel has become much less relevant in the recent years, compared to the Phase 3 era. A few projects are extremely successful, but most of them are just a bland slog of content. Has this affected LEGO in any way? Surpsingly, no. It feels like we're still getting as many sets as before. So to sum up — no, right now DC is not as important to LEGO as Marvel and no, it has nothing to do with the recent content. There is room for improvement tho — the DCU. If it's successful, if the general audience becomes once again interested in DC characters that are not Batman, LEGO will notice that and they will capitalise on that. As for Superman, it will obviously be PG-13. Hoping for 4–6 sets is ridiculous tho. At this point, we'll be lucky to get even a single set — but do not expect more than three sets. That would already be the most beautiful day LEGO DC has seen in years.
