  1. Such a weird wave. The minifigures sound fantastic — some new variants of Spider-Man and Iron Man perhaps, new Ultron, Anti-Venom, comicbook Red Hulk, Spot, updated Civil War variants. Two new characters is huge for a single non-MCU LEGO Marvel wave. But the builds? Mech, mech, car, car, [I hope not a car or I'll lose my goddamn sanity], a... logo? and hopefully a diorama [probably a Quinjet tho]. When did LEGO Marvel become so boring... Now for the set that made my heart burst right out of my chest — SPIDER-VERSE?! Now, it's too late to keep my excitement in check. Already hyped, too late. Realistically speaking, I don't think it's actually based on ATSV — I would die a happy man if it was tho. I just hope it's not another Spider-Man car. If it's not based on the movie, I hope I can at least display it as something reminiscent of it, so a location build.
  2. It might not sound like much, but it looks like a LEGO DC renaissance might be on our hands — the last DC set we got without Batman was in 2020. Let that sink in — DC, a franchise full of hundreds of popular, colorful characters. For four full years, not a single set without Batman. As for the sets, they are not particularly innovative, but there's a few exciting things for sure. Another 4+ Batmobile sounds boring. Hope at least it includes Robin or someone other than Joker or Harley Quinn. Superman mech is still another mech, which does not interest me in the slightest, but we're finally getting a new Superman minifigure. Lex is a great bonus, too! I don't think they can improve much on the Scarecrow system Tumbler. Since the piece count is basically the same, I don't think they'll even try — but the price is 20€ higher, hate that stuff right there. TDK might be my least favourite live-action Batman movie (controversial, I know), but it's great they're not keeping the movie exclusive to D2Cs. Fantastic that we're getting this Two-Face variant.
  3. Uhh, guys... those ideas are way too good for LEGO. New Nightwing? Lanterns? Aqualad, Oracle? WALLY WEST?! We'll be lucky if we get any sets that don't include Batman or Joker next year, yet alone any comicbook DC sets.
  4. At first I thought "Huh, what are you even talking about?" But then I checked the Star Wars forum and Instagram. This is genuinely one of the worst ideas for a set line I've ever seen. Just simply awful, boring and completely uninspired.
  5. I really like how this wave sounds. Sora getting a Spinjitzu gimmick set is great, and I love the fact that we're getting a double pack. Lloyd's forest dragon sounds awesome, could be a fantastic set — if done right. Glad to hear Ras is returning, and with his own vehicle too! Dragonian Storm village has potential to be incredible, I love the sound of it. The rest are regular Ninjago sets (at least by name), but it's good to see some fantastic-sounding names.
  6. Man? Who is that? Is he like Batman? Wait... No, I'm going crazy. Who is Batman? Is he like Man?
  7. Do NOT give him ideas. Yes. We all are. Jonkle forever.
  8. What do you think about the Bane figure? I Bricklinked it a few years ago, could not resist doing so because it's just that good.
  9. The reason why I don't agree with people saying Battinson should've been the DCU Batman. I'm sure Pattinson would've great chemistry with Corenswet, but I don't want another Year 2 Batman — I want Robin. Nightwing. Batgirl. Red Hood. Plus so much more.
  10. He... mostly isn't. But I guess you're not ready for this conversation. Nolan really ruined the public perception of Batman.
  11. There is sooo much to unpack here. You want DC to succeed... but you don't want to support the movie on which this success hinges? You don't want flying in a superhero whose most iconic power is... flying? You think James Gunn will ruin DC for... being faithful to the comics which the universe is based on? You're an absolute mystery Mr. Turtle.
  12. I love Batman, but I'm gonna say something controversial (well, maybe not for actual comicbook fans) — he's much more interesting when he's wacky, has family and friends surrounding him, and deals with more supernatural threats (not exclusively obviously). Even more controversial — I don't like The Dark Knight. For me, it's the essence of the boring, uninspired way to approach this character. I hate the hyperealistic climate of this movie, and the fact that it's much more interested in Joker and Two-Face than the titular character. I find Batman Begins and TDKR much more interesting and fulfilling, even though they both have their shares of problems. I also have a problem with people putting The Batman in the same box of hyperrealism as TDK Trilogy. Yes, the movie doesn't have any supernatural elements, and it's not trying to be particularly wacky — but man, does this movie have style. It's masterfully shot, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. You can tell that Reeves had a particular vision for this movie, and they let him execute it perfectly. Even more so — this version of Batman is kinda a loser. He isn't presented as this cool, hyper-competent, unstoppable guy. He says stuff like "I am vengeance", but people like Catwoman and Penguin, who are more self-aware, tease him about it because they know it's a superficial edgy line that's just supposed to sound intimidating. He's also competent only to an extent. He needs help, and even though he doesn't like asking for it, he's usually working with an ally — whether it's Gordon, Catwoman, or Alfred — because he needs them. Also, the scene in the hospital with Alfred is peak live-action Batman, probably my favourite scene with him. Anyways, I have no idea why I'm rambling on about The Batman, but I'll post it anyway.
  13. Exactly what happened with Superman's suit — after the initial reveal (which, granted, was a really bad way of revealing Superman's new suit) the majority of people disliked the suit. After the set images started appearing, people did an immediate 180° and the reactions were overwhelmingly positive. I know it's not the same situation with, for example, Gardner's suit, but it is the same principle — people immediately jumping to random conclusions without knowing the full context. If the way the suits look is not explained or at the very least hinted at in the movie, then yeah, Gardner's and Hawkgirl's suits are bad (Terrific still looks terrific tho). But right now, I'm fairly sure they look the way they look because of Maxwell Lord, and they will get better suits in the next projects (or even this one). Do we know that it isn't tho? We when comicbook movies are wacky and comicbooky:
  14. All of the suits (Mr. Terrific, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl) have Maxwell Lord's logo. Pretty sure the suits are leather-y and overdesigned on purpose.
  15. Love how the reception for Jedi Bob's Starfighter is either "best set ever" or "it looks awful". No in-betweens.
  16. I absolutely love the starifighter. I thought it would just be a generic recolour of the AotC Anakin / Kenobi starfighter, but it's actually so much cooler than that. Can't wait to get my hands on this set.
  17. But even then, it would be cruel irony since we wouldn't actually get any of his features. Literally anyone could be playing him, and the minifigure would look the same.
  18. Well, at this point our only hope is that Mads joins the DCU in a prominent-enough role to warrant a minifigure.
  19. Oh, the Helicarrier is 80€ actually... I change my mind then. This set is absolutely awful.
