Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

What are the chances we'll get a new version of the printed Snowspeeder nose piece in next year's Juniors set? I'd say it's likely, though I may be the only one who even cares about this. -
Hear, hear! Always glad to see more love for Rogue One. My personal preference would be the Hammerhead Corvette, but any/all would be good.

The last system-scale Star Destroyer had many more minifigures. -
For whatever reason, I'd really like to see a new V-Wing. They get three seconds of screen time, but so what? I'm smitten with the "Alphabet fighters," and cheap(ish) fighters are always nice

I'm peeved (but not surprised) that the rereleased Wedge helmet doesn't have side-printing, like all the new 2017-and-beyond Rebel pilot helmets have had. However, LEGO Star Wars is notorious for cutting corners and not updating these things, and I have to applaud the reuse of a helmet that has only been once released in a retired, reviled, $250 set. The Old Ben hair, on the other hand, is insulting. It's also particularly astonishing because this piece works so much better, and it's been used for so many minifigures, even within the Star Wars theme. To be fair, the new Mustafar Obi-Wan and Anakin look pretty great! They definitely have the high ground...or at least one of them does. It will be really interesting to see whether Wes Janson from Assault on Hoth is also included in the Juniors Snowspeeder. I think they've been using the X-Wing pilot outfits as another means of cutting corners; the Snowspeeder pilot torsos were notoriously for transparent/bleeding printing through the white flak vests, and while the X-Wing torsos have had better quality control. Plus, only complete nerds could tell the difference. Ahem... -
I totally agree, I just don’t think we’d get “19 Years Later” Harry without eventually getting his classmates/new extended family. Who knows, though. EDIT: A bit off topic, but Amazon US currently has Newt's Case of Magical Creatures for only $28, which is an insanely good deal for a phenomenal set (which will likely soon be retired), regardless of how you feel about the movie.

Pretty sure the silhouette on the book cover is a placeholder. That said, my guesses would be (since we have no other news to discuss): -Updated Slug Club Harry with Marauder’s Map (this variant was included in a 2011 book, without the map) -Harry with generic Hogwarts robes (before he is sorted) -Old Harry is a wonderful idea, but then what about Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Draco? I guess there’s always the CMF

Hey, I've found that time moves more quickly every year. It really doesn't seem that long ago, does it? The Rebel pilot face print definitely needs to be updated (just look at all the stellar variants that Firestar Toys offers!), but the Skyhopper pilot's visor is the wrong shape and color, so it can't easily be reused, except in MOCs/customs. -

Last Skyhopper pilot we got was in 2015. And yes, there is a Skyhopper vs Bantha Microfighter coming next year. Both the pilot and the Tusken look great, but I’m waiting to see whether there’s any side printing on that updated helmet! I can’t tell whether the Tusken’s head is different. Honestly, it looks the same to me, but I could well be wrong. The new torso print is very nice and welcome, though. -

Okay, fair enough. I just feel like for the big Force Friday event, the sets are supposed to be overpriced, and so now people are deliberately not buying directly from LEGO and/or Disney. Personally, I may very well buy the Y-Wing for $55. Seems way more attractive than $70, somehow, which is odd, because it's only a fifteen dollar difference, but I guess it's a psychological thing. -

Personally, I think it could be a moon of Yavin. Or do we know for sure that it’s DS2? Edit: Sorry for going off topic. Also, I cannot believe that Walmart and Amazon have already slashed the prices in the US, and I can’t believe that LEGO is happy, either. Technically it’s the stores’ prerogative, but no one is going to pay $70 for a Y-Wing if they can buy it for $55, so I suspect the two retail giants will get a sharp slap on the wrist for this. -
Yes! Hagrid in his Care of Magical Creatures “farmer” outfit with Fang! This would be a PERFECT opportunity to catch up on pets/Patronuses! Heck, give us a proper Fawkes with one of Dumbledore’s variants (possibly young/orphanage visit). Remake Crookshanks, while they’re at it, because the first one was not great! Mad-Eye in his vest with a new ferret mold. Could even be the same mold as Hermione’s Patronus, just in white with printed eyes. Or partner the ferret with Malfoy in new Slytherin robes. The possibilities are endless. Okay, now I’m excited!!!

Excruciating, but not unexpected. It just means I shouldn't Bricklink any of the old figures, because they are likely enough to show up next year. I still stand by the fact that I'd prefer regular sets to CMFs, but I shan't complain. This, and the Advent Calendars, are a perfect way to catch up on Years 1-4. By the way, I have the list of the 22 minifigures right here! It's, like, totally legit! My most wanted minifigure would actually be Sirius in the nasty, dog fur-material coat he wears to see Harry off to Kings Cross in Order of the Phoenix. Just raises a lot of weird questions about Animagi. Why my most wanted? Because we need Padfoot!
-
It still frustrates me that it took until the Fantastic Beasts movies for LEGO to realize that HP could still be a bestseller. You might be on to something here! Time will tell. Oh, and if there are Chase figures, they should obviously be Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet, and Angelina Johnson.
-
I thought of that too. Well, those were only my guesses; we could easily get something like a “Hogwarts North Tower” featuring the Room of Requirement, Umbridge’s Office and the Divination Classroom (I know that’s not architecturally accurate) My point is, my guess is still four regular sets + D2C + CMF. I wouldn’t necessarily mind being proven wrong, though.
-
My bet for next year is: -4 normal sets from Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix* (for example: Second Task, Ministry battle, Privet Drive, Grimmauld Place) -A D2C Diagon Alley for $300-ish -Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (All Potter, no Beasts) IMO, that would be plenty, and it would explain why there are only four sets of which we’re aware *JEDIJACPENGUIN thinks that the four sets will be a combination of Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix, and they’re reliable, so I trust them. That might mean no Astronomy Tower next year, but hey, it’s an excuse to draw out the license, which is no bad thing. Treason, Agent Kallus. I’ll be turning you over to the ISB. In all seriousness, I totally agree with you.

People keep saying this, and maybe they’re right, but I’m in the US and stores near me are extremely diligent and refuse to break the street date. To be fair, it wasn’t always this way, but it has been for licensed themes for at least 5 years. Heck, LEGO Stores used to put out their own sets early. Ah well...not the most exciting Force Friday, anyway. It’ll be here when it’s here -
Actually it makes it more likely, come to think of it. More money for Warner Bros.
-
Ooh, my bad. I was wondering why it wasn’t breaking new here. In that case, I maintain my previously held belief that we will get Series 2 next year!
-
A new leak is going around that there will be DC Collectible Minifigures next year...which means I guess we won't see Potter Series 2 until 2021?
-
I don't particularly want this set, given that it might be too similar to the Dewback and Escape Pod Microfighters. That said, I think there's actually a good chance this set could be made, and I hope for you that it does.
-
I think a lot of us agree with you, but why would they charge $100 for their semi-annual flagship set when they could charge $200-300? The only chance I see for cheap(er) UCS sets that aren't busts or creatures is if they are part of regular waves, rather than May the Fourth/October-the-whatever exclusives. -Luke's Landspeeder -A-Wing -Speeder Bikes -Anakin's Podracer -Cloud Car -Desert Skiff -AT-RT -Maybe even TIE Interceptor -Jedi Starfighter (Delta or Eta)

Wow, I completely forgot about the Bantha vs. Skyhopper! That's an instant purchase, and somewhat redeems the wave for me. If this year's Dewback is anything to go by, the Bantha will probably be very recognizable and cute. The Skyhopper pilot's head leaked on Instagram--looks almost exactly the same as the last one. I wonder what helmet he will have? Point taken about Solo, but my favorite design from that movie was by far the AT-Hauler, and I didn't care for that set at all. -

New wave sounds very uninspired, but that may just be the source material. Why is it that of all the new Disney content, only Rogue One has had a lot of interesting vehicles? I’ll get the Y-Wing Microfighter since I’m a sucker for Rebels/Resistance, and I’ll get Anakin vs Obi-Wan when it goes down to $15, but I think I’ll use the rest of my time and money saving for the Tantive IV and future Harry Potter sets.
