LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
RogueTwo replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm shocked, honestly. In the United States they have been consistently available from LEGO Shop, and I even saw them fully stocked at Target when I had to go buy out to food and I "accidentally" walked past the LEGO aisle. Well, across the pond from you, we get the Harry Potter sets two months later, so we may never know how The LEGO Group determines its stock choices. -

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I suspect they'll just match the sets that have been on sale through Amazon and other retailers (at least in the US). My predictions are: -Resistance A-Wing Starfighter -Resistance Y-Wing Starfighter -Pasaana Speeder Chase -Those missile-shooter Action Battle sets will almost certainly be on sale -AT-AP Walker -Black Ace and Vonreg's TIE -Most of the 4+ sets -Any of the remaining 20th Anniversary sets (except Slave I) -Anakin's Jedi Starfighter -Keychains, holiday tags, etc. -Any of the remaining Brickheadz Maybe I'm being generous, but that's my guess. -

Any chance 75192 will be back in stock by this weekend? I'm kicking myself for not ordering it before...I couldn't stomach $800, but now if it's really gone, I'll regret not having bought one. -
I hate that vehicle in the film, but your MOC is outstanding! And I do love it when Billy Dee Williams says "Wookiees stand out in a crowd!"

How about instead of getting into a fight look at the crappy news I posted just above....
-
LEGO Shop just changed all the USA release dates to August. I'm so angry at the incompetence and corporate politics of this release.
-
Not sure. The Burrow has a release date of August 1, while all the others, including Hedwig, have July. I don't mind staggered release dates, I just wish the US could get something in June. Oh, well. I suspect LEGO has a coordinated promotion with Target again this year, and that's why the Burrow is especially delayed, but we'll see.
-
I have no doubt (and no proof)
-
Looks like July 1 for everything except The Burrow, and then The Burrow on August 1: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/attack-on-the-burrow-75980 I fully expect the LEGO website to crash and change approximately seven times between now and then, though.
-
Exclusives used to always be available at LEGO Shop, as well. I have no idea why they appear to have gone back to the ridiculous "window of retail exclusivity" model. I'll give them a few days, though, since the pictures on the website are already malfunctioning.
-
Sets will be released on July 1 in the United States! Check LEGO Shop! Actually, there's no Burrow listed there, so there's something odd going on. That one's a Target exclusive, which makes me think Target might get the whole wave early on June 1...or August 1. Time will tell! But everything except the Burrow is officially July 1 through LEGO directly for US fans. That's a lot better than August, IMO. EDIT: Looks like Buildable Hedwig will also be a retail exclusive, this time for the ailing Barnes and Noble. Retail exclusives...what bunk! Also, the pre-order may or may not be available for all regions. Check out this article by The Brothers Brick: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2020/04/28/six-new-lego-harry-potter-sets-revealed-for-summer-2020-with-centaurs-hogwarts-expansion-buildable-hedwig-and-more-news/

I was expecting to hate Grawp.
-
Marcos Bessa supervised the wave; I would guess that he personally designed the Burrow, but that's just conjecture on my part.
-
I completely agree about literally everything! Though the more I think about it the more I think I will wait for a good sale on Privet Drive; I already have the Ford Anglia, Harry, Ron, and Dobby, and the house, itself, looks easy to MOC. If I'm buying a set for the Dursleys and the stickers, something's wrong with me.
-
See, I still want that exclusive Harry (because I'm pathetic, LOL) so I'm hoping that a year from now he will end up on Bricklink or eBay for $5.
-
I can't help but feel that it was a mistake to include a flying car with Privet Drive while the other one is still available in the Whomping Willow set. The house is beautiful, but way too small, IMO, and the box art exacerbates this fact! New purchase order after seeing the sets: PRE-ORDER: 1. The Burrow 2. Hogwarts Astronomy Tower 3. Room of Requirement STILL NOT SURE: 4. Privet Drive (no number pun intended) 5. Forbidden Forest NOPE 6. Hedwig
-
If I pre-order these sets and they become available in United States shops before my package ships from LEGO, would I have the option to cancel? Has anyone ever tried to cancel a pre-order from LEGO Shop?
-
April 30 (presumably tomorrow night/Thursday morning) according to Brick Fanatics, which is a reliable site
-
Thanks, my Dutch friends!
-
Actually, if the sets are available to pre-order on April 30, I don't really care when they are released. My main concern right now is limiting/spacing out my purchases. And this way (glass of Butterbeer half full) we in the United States will get the sets about the same time as we all get Diagon Alley. So no one really loses out that much. So I suspect we will see one or two more retail sets in August (probably the Ministry battle). Anyone know when the D2C will be available for pre-order?
-
I'm not literally crying, but this has been possibly the worst year in living memory, and I really could use a distraction. Two months is a long time when no one knows what's going to happen. (By the way, the "entitled Yank" thing was supposed to be self-deprecating, I'm glad people took it well. )
-
Um...I just read "August in the USA." Any fellow entitled Yanks sobbing along with me right now?...
-
Okay, having calmed down JUST ENOUGH TO COMMENT, I can objectively say that I hate Grawp and the buildable Hedwig. Then again, I hated Grawp in the movie and the book, so... Privet Drive is also a disappointment. I may have to wait for a sale. Room of Requirement, Burrow, and Astronomy Tower are among the best Harry Potter sets ever made, IMO.

HOLY $hit!! (sorry for the unforgivable curse)
