I assume the flying car in the Privet Drive set would mean that the Whomping Willow set is soon to be retired. To be honest, this makes sense to me. They need to clear up shelf space somehow if there are seven or more sets coming out this year!
-
I think it's much more likely that we get The Burrow as this year's $100, and the Hogwarts viaduct/entrance courtyard as the flagship set of next year. I think WWW will be part of a Diagon Alley D2C, and I really hope we don't get Grimmauld Place at all, honestly. I mean, I personally have little interest, but I respect the opinion of those who are hoping for it. However, who knows? You may be much more right than I am. Time will tell...

Two new sets? Someone is casting the Cruciatus Curse on my wallet!

I suspect we may get an official reveal of the General Grievous Starfighter, since someone mentioned that it was not accidental that it is the only set that has leaked so far. What's special about it, I have no idea. Perhaps it's a retailer exclusive? -
To be honest, I actually love the Rebels show, I just have no interest in Rebels-specific minifigures since I missed out on all the original sets. But actually, if the dubious rumors of the Rebels sequel Disney Plus show are true, our chances of getting a new Ghost (albeit almost certainly not minifigure scale) will go up greatly!
-
I know it's been said many times before, but I'd really like to see a new Ghost. The last version is ridiculously expensive on the secondary market, and there is a lot of room for aesthetic, if not structural, improvement. I couldn't care less about Rebels minifigures, but more Rogue One rebel soldiers would never go amiss! It would be a good candidate for a large UCS set, were it not for the fact that a minifigure-scale Ghost would be even larger than the UCS Millennium Falcon, and I am not paying $1000 for a Ghost, no matter how big it is!

There is still a D2C listed on Jedi JAC Penguin's website. Are they legit? Good to know, thanks. Not that I will be spending my money on a giant Hedwig, anyway. I have enough to save for!
-
So is Hedwig the mystery $40 set (possibly a store exclusive, and obviously not a playset)? Does that mean that the D2C could still be a playset such as Diagon Alley?

Also just realized that the A-Wing and Venator are not options. Hmmm..... -

Wait, is this real??? The LEGO Group is really letting us vote on a UCS? EDIT: I'm having trouble logging in as well, but for me it's going to be a toss-up between the Nebulon B or the Republic Gunship. The Nebulon B would be a great edition to my Rebel fleet, and it has appeared in at least four of the live-action films, but objectively I think the Gunship has a much cooler design. Plus the Gunship has the potential to be minifigure scale! -
You're right, maybe I was just trying to make myself feel better about the lack of information.
-
True. And honestly, maybe it will be better this way; if I knew every set and its contents right now, it is true that I would be able to plan my money better, but the wait would be unbearable!
-
I would love it if this happened. Understandably, though, they probably won't.
-
I always thought the main reason for lack of leaks is that both TLG and movie studios have gotten greedier, and they want you to spend money on the current assortment of products, rather than save your pennies for the “good stuff” coming up

True enough. My bad. On a different note, I’m kind of surprised none of the January sets have seen even the slightest discount in the US yet. However, I think the Bantha Microfighter is well worth full price, not sure about the others... -

True, but aren’t UCS sets designed years in advance? The only instance of delaying one that I can recall was when they mucked with Assault on Hoth and released it six months later. That was not due to speculated poor sales, though, AFAIK. Anyway, I’m super excited to see what May the Fourth 2020 May bring! -
Domhnall Gleeson played Hux and Bill, not Charlie. Good point, though, for Bill's figure I would love it if they included Hux's expression on one side, with a smiling, scarred expression on the other, just as an Easter Egg to fans, even though that is extremely unlikely to happen!

Honestly, I love the brick-built Bantha from the new Microfighters. I think a mold would have to be so bulky as to be both Duplo-esque and prohibitively expensive. This just made me think: Fambaa vs MTT (Includes Gungan soldier and battle droid) Wampa vs Tauntaun (includes Luke Skywalker) Fathier vs Canto Bight Police Speeder (includes Finn, Rose, and Canto Bight police officer) Orbak vs Sith TIE Fighter (includes Jannah and Sith Trooper) I’m sure there are more options for brick-built creatures, and what about: Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter vs Jango Fett’s Slave I Anakin’s Speeder vs Zam Wesell’s Speeder The possibities for Microfighters are nearly endless!!
-
No, they haven’t, but give them some time, the movie just came out! Also, we didn’t get a tauntaun until 2009, a wampa until 2011, or a rancor until 2013 (even though we got a kaadu mold back in 2001-ish, so you just never know). Another thing to keep in mind is that we haven’t gotten fathiers from TLJ yet, so I wouldn’t hold my breath for orbaks, even though I agree they would be really cool.

Do folks think we’ll see a new B-Wing in 2020, be it Rebels, OT, or TROS? I’d really like an affordable version, but the one from 2014 commands a relatively high aftermarket price given that the set was, objectively, pretty bad... -
Technically everyone needs two of that figure for time travel-related reasons!

I guess I agree, especially because the character mostly gained notoriety for some really weird memes. Personally, I just think he'd look cool on my Tantive IV. Anyway, concerning the January wave, I decided I will wait for a sale on all of them. Within a month, the Bantha vs Skyhopper will be at least 15% off, and then I'll be proud of myself for delaying gratification. -
This one needs to be done for sure. My other most-wanted set would be:

Cesar Soares (designer of the 75244 Tantive IV) acknowledged the popularity of the Rebel Friend in an interview with Brickset, so there may actually be hope. Plus, all it would require is one recolored torso print!!
