Diagon Alley is definitely the $400 set. Some numbers seem to have been changed either due to incorrect leaking or, more likely, shuffling and reassigning of numbers as other themes have been cancelled and/or delayed. EDIT: THELEGOBATMAN beat me to it.
-
Okay, so here is the order in which I hope to buy the sets: WOULD LIKE TO PRE-ORDER: 1. Attack on The Burrow 2. Hogwarts Astronomy Tower 3. Diagon Alley (if it is available for preorder) NOT SURE YET 4. Privet Drive WAIT FOR A SALE 5. Forbidden Forest 6. Room of Requirement 7. [Ministry Battle/"I may have been wrong about the Chamber of Secrets"] MAY PASS ON 8. Buildable Hedwig By the way, is anyone actually excited about the Buildable Hedwig set? If you are, that's great, I just suspect it will hit clearance way sooner than the others. At least it's well-priced, unlike, say, D-O from Star Wars.

I think we'll get leaks by May 9 at the very latest. Honestly, I was surprised that the sets were revealed before May the Fourth last year, because I would think that LEGO wants people spending their money on the annual Star Wars stuff before they start saving for HP.
-
Hear, hear! Budgets are a very delicate subject, especially right now. I have said multiple times that I hope there are no more hidden HP sets this year, but that doesn't mean I'm formally arguing against them, nor do I mean to discount the opinions of others. Also, I don't work for The LEGO Group, so my hopes mean absolutely nothing!
-
You may be right about the minifigure, but my reasoning is not based on blind optimism. I said that I would prefer we don't get a Chamber of Secrets this year, because there are already too many expensive sets for me. The nature of the anagram hints toward that scene in the Chamber of Secrets, as does the "underground" clue. Heck, there could be a Ministry Battle set and a second D2C Chamber of Secrets that we don't know about. Unlikely? Yes, but we really just don't know at this point. But wait....what if the "underground" location is nothing more than The Burrow? Burrows are underground!!
-
I'm definitely in the "Chamber of Secrets" camp. While I don't want another big set to crush my budget this year, I think it's inevitable. Take a look at Tom Riddle in that scene vs the exclusive figure. The book figure has no Hogwarts crest and no prefect badge on the robes. Am I nitpicking? Yes, but this theme is known for its ridiculously screen-accurate portrayal. Give the "another Tom" a different facial expression and there you go, two Toms this year.

It cracks me up that people are talking about video games that aren't even related to HP. We're just our own little community, doing our best to stay sane in this horrible time. Fingers crossed for set pictures tomorrow! SIDE NOTE: Does anyone know why retailers in the United States very rarely discount sets that are $90+, but they have no difficulty putting smaller sets on sale for 20-30% off within a month? For that reason, my first priorities are going to be the Burrow and the Astronomy Tower, which, to be fair, are my favorites, anyway.
-
Thank you! Thank you! From a selfish point of view, I hope there is not a retailer exclusive; I don't even know if I can afford the current arrangement. I just preordered the book with the exclusive Tom Riddle, though! Regarding Dobby's inclusion in the Privet Drive set, it doesn't bother me one bit. I do miss Fred and George, though.

So I'm confused. Is there going to be a Ministry Battle set or some other unknown set, or do we presumably already know everything that's coming in 2020?
-
I agree as well, she could have easily fit in with the Resistance A-Wing along with her daughter, or else the Battle of Crait set. Wasn't there supposed to be a Resistance Shuttle set with Leia that was cancelled last year?

Yep. I think stock will be severely depleted (if it's even available) by the end of the May the Fourth weekend. -
I love this. I would "feel" for Galen, Lyra, and Saw in a heartbeat. I think it's a great alternative to Bricklink for those who missed out on the older figures. Plus, the new versions would probably have updated features that I couldn't refuse! Re: Republic Gunship. I would definitely try to buy it for $200. For $400+, no way.

Sorry, @Mandalorianknight, I didn't mean to pressure you into getting UCS sets. I just thought that it made more sense six more Mandalorian Battle Packs (like I said, I thought you might be serious about that). In all seriousness, waiting for the AT-AT could be a good idea if you're on the fence about the UCS A-Wing. I suspect that the A-Wing might be backordered for a while, but I'm sure it will be available for well over a year. I really want to know what that mystery retailer exclusive set might be. Ah, well, time will tell! -

I can't tell if you're joking (mostly because of your username ) but you should definitely buy your first real UCS. They are expensive and addictive, but the A-Wing is a good place to start. If you can still track down the Y-Wing or Snowspeeder for a good price, I would recommend those, too. The Slave I and Red Five X-Wing are both flawed, IMHO, and the more recent System-scale versions actually look better! I passed on the TIE Fighter because it failed to impress me. But I am seriously excited about the A-Wing! -
I honestly hope we don't get a UCS Landspeeder, because it would be $200 for something even smaller and plainer than the Snowspeeder and the A-Wing (both of which I admittedly love). Given that the fall UCS sets are always more expensive than the spring, the Shuttle just fits. My most wanted UCS/D2C sets would be: 1. UCS U-Wing 2. The Ghost D2C 3. UCS B-Wing remake (purely subjective, since I missed the last one) 4. UCS Red Five remake 5. UCS Imperial Shuttle (even though I can't afford it) Honestly, even as a diehard Rebel Alliance fan, I don't care that much about a Nebulon-B; I always thought it was kind of a bizarre and ugly vehicle.
-
I just realized that my UCS predictions a few pages back included a UCS AT-AT this fall. That is clearly not going to happen if we get a System-scale version this August (much like the Republic Gunship scenario). Therefore, I'm changing my prediction to a remake of the UCS Imperial Shuttle this September/October. Not exactly Empire Strikes Back-themed, but then again, neither is the A-Wing, and LEGO has proven time and again that anniversary tie-ins don't affect their sales. UCS Imperial Shuttle--$400 (If I end up being right, you heard it here first! )

Same, I just ordered the Poe figure from the Resistance show (the one from the Black Ace) so I really hope that's not the one we get in the calendar! -

Not to get too ahead of myself, but I could very well see a Battle of Geonosis to go with the Republic Gunship! -
I didn't mean a larger Imperial Shuttle, just an overpriced one! I think The Ghost absolutely needs a remake. I refuse to pay the eBay prices, especially since the first version wasn't even that great. A minifigure-scale Ghost would be larger than the Falcon, which would be stupid, but I could see it being in the same scale and quality of last year's Tantive IV, or even a $160 System-scale set.

UCS Falcon is currently temporarily out of stock in the United States. If anyone still wants it and can afford it, I would think they try to should pick one up sooner rather than later while they still have the chance. -

Wow, I didn't notice this until you mentioned it. I actually have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it's a cheap move that diminishes the look of the set. However, the cockpit is a new mold (at least I think so), and MOC-ers may not want it to have A-Wing-specific printing. Therefore, the optional stickers make it much more versatile. Kind of like the canopy piece for the UCS Snowspeeder, which, as far as I know, has never appeared in any other set. -

Okay, I am in love with the A-Wing and I sincerely hope that the LEGO website doesn't crash any more than usual on May 1. However...am I the only one who doesn't like the new box art? It looks like the "Black Series" action figures, which I am sure was an intentional choice by Disney to unify their high-end licensed toys, but it just looks...ominous to me. The UCS Y-Wing/Falcon box design was my favorite. -
I hope you're right about the U-Wing not being too unrealistic! Looking back at the 2016 set, it leaves a lot to be desired, and I think a minifigure-scale UCS would truly do it justice. Plus, we don't seem to get ANY Rogue One except in large, exclusive sets such as Darth Vader's Castle, the Tantive IV, and the UCS Y-Wing. I guess maybe the movie isn't that kid-friendly, haha. The Jedi Temple is a bit of a long shot, and I don't even really want it, but I know a lot of people have been asking for it, and I think the only way to do it justice would be a huge playset. Personally, I think all the TIE ships are ugly, but like I said, I tried to make my list as realistic as possible, and I'm glad you agree!
-
My predictions for the next few UCS sets: September 2020: AT-AT, $500 May 2021: Republic Gunship, $200 September 2021: Jedi Temple, $350 May 2022: U-Wing (this may be wishful thinking on my part), $200 September 2022: Imperial Shuttle, $400 May 2023: Jabba's Sail Barge, $200 September 2023: Nebulon-B Medical Frigate, $400 EDIT: LEGO probably already has a TIE Bomber designed, so realistically that would probably come before a U-Wing.

No great deals that I've seen, but if you keep your eyes open you might find something. And I'd be fine with a Resistance B-Wing, I honestly couldn't tell the difference in the movie.
