A Visit to Kaliphlin - The Lion's Eye Chapter 1 - Freebuild
zoth33 replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
First nice story. Second great little scene. There is a lot going on and I love all the figs. The building is nice, I like the different tans and the white together. The stone bricks give it some nice texture. I also like your cacti. Overall nice job.- 24 replies

I get what you are saying. I just thought it a little odd considering they've been that way for so long and the more articulation a minifig has like the Kreons makes them really hard to pose sometimes and the joints get really sloppy. Anyways I'm hoping lego does sets based off the castle map from Overwatch. The name of the map eludes me at the moment. And I'm really hoping they do a Reaper fig that would be excellent for fantasy based characters. Honzo would also be a great fig for castle fantasy. It will be interesting to see what they make. Also I'm kinda bummed if Elves is ending so many useful parts and colors for MOC's. Although if it is replaced by a new castle theme that would be awesome.

When you ride a horse your legs go off to the sides. But if you look at someone riding a horse from the side it does look like their legs are in the horse if you get my meaning. So the way they do it doesn't bother me. It does look weird when you put figs on certain animals like the big cats. Figs look good on dinosaurs if there is a saddle or seat of some sort. I guess it doesn't bother me because that's the way they would look if they were riding a horse anyway.

Good to know. I was thinking about getting it when I see it. I definitely like the figs. Hope to see it in stores soon.

Great job. I like the bike, the use of the of the ninjago head is cool. The base looks great as well with all the tombstones and skeleton parts. The fire is well placed. Overall well done.
-
Great job. I love the roof technique. The way you did the walls is clever too. Just a wonderful little scene.
-
The mill is fantastic. I love the colors. The blades are great. The roof and the texturing of the wall work well together. Now you just need some landscaping and some figs and your golden.

Very nice representation. I like the eyes and the antlers. The use of the hair on the tail is neat. great job.

Nice review. I'm going to pick this one up soon. So many great pieces and love the brick built animals. And of course the niffler is very nice.

I just bought this set today mainly for the Thestral. I haven't built it yet. The black plant pieces will be useful for my moc's too. I think the Thestral is worth $5 it has wings too. I'll be using the Thestral as a steed for one of my evil warriors.

Nice little scene. I like the wagon looks good. The landscaping is great. The trees are well done. I like the way waterfall comes through the rocks looks very organic. The rockwork is excellent too. Nice job.

Nice scene. I really like the texturing of the windmill especially the roofs. The landscaping is great I like the way it looks especially with the plates being layered. The goats or sheep look cool too.
-
Nice review. Its a solid set. I like all the towers and all the new pieces probably will wait to get this until it goes on sale.

Exactly. I'm curious what would people spend on a Hogwarts minifig scale set? With all the complaining I'm wondering would you people spend $1,000 or more how far would you go? I don't think lego would make enough off of the set if its to big to make it worth while for them to justify doing it.

Nice little scene. You should try it with real lego. I think the tower should be taller and agree the bridge needs to be bigger. But i love the overall idea of this piece and the tree feature is cool.

Nice job. The temple itself is nice and clean. The inclusion of the dark grey and sand green give it a nice worn feel to it. The stairs look nice. The landscaping is great with all the vegetation and curved plates.

I think its a pretty good set for $15. I like the look of Aragog. The new wand pieces, candle piece, printed web piece are nice. And you get 5 small spiders. Overall you can't go wrong picking this one up. Thanks for the review.

Awesome!!! The color scheme is great, the sand green and brown work well together. The mixel joints are great for this kind of stuff. Really like the eyes too.

Exactly and possibly other different races like gnomes or other halflings. There are several new molds in the Harry Potter line that will work well in castle/fantasy moc's. Notably the creatures and animal moulds. Also some of the new hairpieces will be nice.
-
Love this. The wurm looks menacing and the figs look genuinely terrified. The landscape is excellent too. great job.
-
I consider the movie a one off to the show and the theme as a whole. I think the theme will be fine if they keep it fresh and still recognize what made it popular to begin with. I hope the new sets show up here soon looking forward to getting some.
