Fantastic tower! The 1x1 round plates on the side are particularly nice! And from your friends from the South, we thank you for protecting the vital trade routes.

Great idea Gex! I'll keep a set of links for the mocs on the first post. And possibly everyone's intro stories as well. I also have the 3rd post that we can use to list such things (way to go B&W, taking the 2nd post ) -
I may put in an interior... though I'm not sure how to go about making sewing machines Thank you brother Abū Alī! Yes Mr Yoikberg had problem since his 'accident' securing business, so it was excellent circumstance that we had need of new City Watch uniforms. It should keep Mr Yoikberg happy and working instead of ... wandering the night.

Not quite... we have mountain ranges in the East, some forest in the west. some Coast line in the south, and lots of desert in the middle. Northern Siccus badland has grass lands ... and of course we have caves and tunnels that run... well let's not say in public where they go - only that we have them. so basically we have everything you could possibly want to build ;) -
After much discussion at the Kaliphlin Grand Table, we have decided upon the City Guard's official uniform. And to celebrate, Drextrus Flagg has commissioned the construction of a tailor shop for Yoikbreg the tailor! He shall provide our army uniforms for the Petraea City Guard. He was a master tailor until ... he was turned. Now he continues his trade for that is what he knows. He's not the most talkative tailor, but he excels at mindless tasks and works throughout the night. Several of our City Guard were nice enough to model their new uniforms for Dextrus.

Is that a propeller engine on the top floor? Great water effects and texture on the towers. We should build up the left side, so we can't have people sneaking up that side!

Remember fellow guildmates, it's not a race. We have a month for the Watch Tower / out posts. And points will be rewarded for them - so feel free to post WIP shots for feedback and suggestions etc and refine the builds! (though yes, I did race to get something build out there ) Excellent tower K-nut! I agree with WBD - we don't necessarily need really tall towers in the deserts and near hte oceans I'd think our land is fairly flat. Now in the forest and mountains - we'll need some really tall towers. I actually found some of my Tan Lion heads and thought the same thing about using them ;) The use of colours is nice as well. Maybe build up the left side like the right? Some symmetry would be nice. -
"What's the point of all those pushups if you can't even lift a log?" I love all the fire effects you have going. Though you should have left some cups and stuff lying around form the party. Very nice though!

While it is fantastic to see all these new friends and their armies, we should start looking at the task of building our great empire. Now that we have determined the Uniform of the City Guard, I have commissioned the building of a tailor shop for our brave men and women that protects our City. Let me present to you Yoikbreg the tailor! He shall provide our army uniforms for the Petraea City Guard. He was a master tailor until the ... he was turned. Now he continues his trade for that is what he knows. He's not the most talkative tailor, but he excels at mindless tasks and works throughout the night. Baydara - my old friend! how are thee? - the Governor sends his regard to his strongest supporter. It is good that you came, we need people like you in this time of growing unease. -- Gex! Fantastic map! You are certainly talented Cartographer! I didn't have a particular idea for the island - I just thought it'd be a good to have a reserve spot for interesting ideas - like Lost Vegga ;) -- Rasputin, it is good that you bring word of our Mountain Mommies in the east. It reassures my bones that the eastern leg of the Oil Road is protected by our tribe friends. -- Clarification on Tasks 1, 2, and Challenge 1. Tasks are things that everyone should do - Create their own Sigfi, and create their own little army - this will always be a task for all member if they are so inclined. We also discussed how the City Guard would look - they would be the only uniform army, within the city walls - using the Lion Knights as a torso base with dark blue arms. So take all the time you want ;) For the challenge - they will all be roughly 1 month in duration - we'll pick the top 5 to 'compete' against the other guilds - and the bulk of the points will be awarded based on those builds. While the rest of the builds gets the remainder of the points. And the points will eventually be used for something... So it's important that everyone builds us some fortifications and towers! -
HAHAHAHAA -- Excellent trees and lovely path. Though the railing on the trees seems to be a bit low? Those forest men sure like to live dangerously.

Yakob, all is welcome here. Your past is your past, what matters here is what do now, and in the future. And we need fighting men now more than ever. And in time I hope we would earn the loyalty you have given us and be proud to fly our Red-Blue banners. But now we need to focus on our outer defenses, I hope we will see some WIP progress reports soon! -- Velethuil, thank you for the reports. This is disturbing news. But remember! That we are not currently at war with the other guilds - there has been peace for 10 decades. And I pray that it will stay that way.... but you and Maximo make an excellent point - perhaps we should see what War Beasts we can can buy. I would rather squander a few talons of gold and be safe ... in the war does break out. -
But can we take that RISK!?!?!? I think we should all head out to LEGO Store and BUY BUY BUY

Lord Shale, Welcome! We are entering turbulent times, and we shall need men with resources like yours to help reinforce and rebuild! For that I thank thee and share my Bread and Ale. Rasputin Jone! Good to see thee! While I understand your concern about the recent attack on our King - the trade routes shall be protected more now than ever! Plus as our good King has decreed - we are building additional defences in our perimeter to ensure the safety in all our regions. Titus It is good to meet another one from the old Empire. We have others here from your flock. But I hope I can earn you loyalty as I have theirs - and be proud fly the Kaliphlin flags. Abū Alī al-Ḥusayn ibn Abd Allāh ibn Sīnā, Ah a Truth Seeker. Welcome. I hope that you find what you seek here. Please let me know if there is anything that I can be of assistance in your quest. In the mean time, please enjoy your stay in Petraea and help out where you can. -- Gex! Your time as a Master Building Apprentice is well known to me - but I was not aware of your Cartography skills! That is fantastic, I shall pass it along to the King's Cartographer to have it integrated into the official Atlas of Historica. In the mean time I think we shall start adding areas as we build them out. Also we need to put in Lost Vegga. --- Arm colours - While officially 2 dark blue arms would be preferable - I can understand if people don't have enough arms - so alternating works - or even regular blue if necessary. -

Tafik Regex Marmota! Excellent! You have arrived. It warms my heart that the hero of Mughraz is with us. Some of my fellow slaves were among those that you freed - they have not forgotten you. But so much talk of the past, there is much to do in the present! Your letters have reached us - and it was sound advice that you have given us - and we need strong wills and even stronger minds. We should take heed of new information provided to us! First, in we have uncovered an ancient parchment that can shed the light on Historica. You may want to study it, for it forget our history, we shall be doomed to repeat it. We also had a messenger arrive and delivered a letter post haste from the Great King himself! I hid nothing from my guild brothers and sister, please read the letter that was delivered. Our task is clear. The Great King has asked us to ready to defences! Towers, Outputs, Borders must be built! Spread forth to the four corners of the Siccus Badlands and ensure that the South is strong and secure for the King. -- Another fantastic day everyone! I think we reached a good consensus on how to approach building - northern part would be more 'traditional' castle. more south you go the more Middle Eastern/Egyptian/Persian/Spanish/ect it shall be. And those that want a bit of a break there's always the western unfertile farm land and the mountains to the west. And I think we need to consider building New Vegga ;) @Gex/NiceMarmot - for the most part you can make what you want as long as it's reasonable and 'fits' in. @Axel - that map is like 4 days old - it's SOOOO out of date Though seriously - we are likely going to get a new map that has more of the places each of the 4 guilds made up. Plus likely ... some other cool stuff that you'll see later But if it helps - I made this up as I was writing the original story: Feel free to mark it up with ideas And yes - my paint skill sucks - that's why we're getting talented people to help with the map ;) -
Indeed! amazingly fast building! Remind me never go against you in a speed build You're like a Tasmanian... something The spikes are particularly well done... as is the waterfall!

Declaring in the guild thread is best. those that declared here will be placed into a guild randomly if they have not made a particular choice - we will try to accommodative as much as possible - and so far it looks like we have a fairly good distribution! -

Lars , come young one - I have seen you grow up in and around Petraea, while I did not know your father personally - we did do business while he was in the North. His death came as a shock to all of us. You father was a good man, as I assume are you. You will be a worthy addition. Yes. We should start to consider looking to our defenses. Our Army looks to be in good shape - City watch shall be Lions with Blue arms (backwards torso? or regular?) with our warring army, should their be a need - rag tag assembly of amour and exotic arms. But first, there is work to be done- with this sudden influx of new guildmates - we need to expand our cities! But how should they look and feel? what style shall we build? - a Mid Eastern fair? more traditional castle but based in sand? shall we coax our Mystic friends to build us structures of the imaginations? What say you, how shall we build? -
fantastic! really captured the feel of the forest! and those forestmen are free souls, not bound by 'industry safety standards' for railing heights.

Ah! A new friend! Good to meet thee Velethuil- Your elven brothers have proven themselves time and time again your bows and your swords are welcome at my table. Come sit and have an Ale with me! Ahhh perfect logic! spoken like a true Kaliphlin! I like how that works. I think the key to our army - whatever we choose is that we have dark bleu arms, and try to have a some red. If not don't worry - we're the only blue Guild so it'll be unique for us. And of course the Red and Blue flags. @ B&W Good point about us not having to shy away from established factions. We could weave in that the Lions once tried to invade but couldn't take the heat, and left all their armour and such which - being the resourceful people that we are - decided to reuse... or alternatively the lions were the first inhabitants here but slowly departed ... or something. Mountain Mommys - I love it. let's go with it. Great back story too - do you mind if I added up with the main guild intro? -

Ah Garnett! There you are, nice to finally see a familiar face. I was starting to worried that the task I sent out for you was too much for you! But first, please meet our new brothers and sisters! and sit down and discuss the our plans to raise a new Army. After scouring toros bins of yore - I think I might have found one of the cheapest solutions to creating a cost effective Army, backwards Lions: I also tried a few more flag iterations - not overly happy with the printed flag - alas there are no dark blue ones (though since no other guild has blue flag so we can use regular blue in a pinch!) I think these (or something similar) look good in the city (guard) - but outside I still like the idea of kinda rag tag army possibly black hat as waterbrick suggested. And I'm going to get a bunch of those POP cause the head dresses I think would be fantastic for us. And YES! we should have mummies - I wouldn't be surprised if one of our travellers showing up is from their ilk. And Sandy brought up a good point in the other tread that right now we don't have a lot of mages or Mystics. Which every good guild needs! It might be fun to do kinda a ... mystic-steam punk type cross - where things are powered by magic crystals or something - any other thoughts? And welcome NiceMarmot & Ogre - I'll give you guys the full welcome once you get your sigfig created (and optional backstory)
