  1. I have a 1999 train that I got for $50, plus $10 shipping back in 2003-2005 range. It sucked. Not all the Trains were instant classics, a lot of them were clunkers throughout LEGO Train history. But I'm not buying any of the new sets, they are very lacking. Not horrible, but just nothing special. However that train "station" is probably the worth thing I have ever seen in the train theme.
  2. Astor City is to the west of Lego City. It goes Astor City, Gothem City, LEGO Movie City, and then LEGO City. (I'm just making that up)
  3. Alien Conquest Research ;)
  4. Because so many cities have a space port, or my favorite sub theme title ever... LEGO City Farm.
  5. Sad. I really wish I bought a bunch of 40-50% GS from Target and Amazon before Christmas. I have really grown to like them, just which all of them were azure and white.
  6. I just got mine in yesterday and the box was beaten to death, had crazy Swedish on it and stamps, and was a chick (like a baby chicken, not a sexist name for a woman) and everything and I went "What the hell is this?"opened it up and was very happy. Thank you!
  7. The new $20 Hobbit set, 217 pieces, three mini figures $15 (25% off) at TRU USA B&M. GS 70706 is $11 (45% off) at Target.com USA. http://www.target.com/p/lego-galaxy-squad-crater-creeper-70706/-/A-14560034#prodSlot=medium_1_0&term=lego%2070706
  8. I bought 9 packs weeks ago from Target because I thought I could get them from TRU, then TRU marked them to $4 (which I refuse to buy) and because I thought the movie would fail. I wish I bought a few more because now they are gone and complete series on Amazon is around $90. I felt at least a few extra women, a Lincoln. This is why I'm really growing sick of the increasing amount of limited time things LEGO is doing, mini figures, Friends animals and now Mixels.
  9. I think it's funny that the USA has a rule/law saying the piece count needs to be listed. Why is it not in a lot of countries? My guess is LEGO doesn't want you to realize how much they are ripping you off on City sets. Completely agree with the age range. Why are some ranged 6-12, when others in the same theme are 7-14? Why not 6+ and 7+ as the case may be?
  10. My favorite space theme ever but if they canceled the second wave of the theme they aren't ever going to bring it back unless it's just the same basic idea / same name but completely different looking. Kind of like the last Space Police series had nothing to do with the past ones besides the name.
  11. I wish I bought this set for the lipstick.
  12. The Agents crazy 50s sci-fi style was what made it amazing, same with the first year of Alpha Team. Futuristic doesn't make it fun to me. Plus redoing an old set (Big Truck Base) is a waste of an idea. really disappointed.
  13. I love the new vine piece, looks very nice.
  14. I use the sets as jumping points. One of these years I will make a small Main Street with some of my own buildings and some heavily modded sets like the Friends shops, the Spider Man office building. A lot of sets are for parts, but some are for new ideas on how to use the bricks and such. The Arctic sets don't seem to have a ton of new pieces, the skis are nice and new, but they are still really cool idea.
  15. I'm just happy there isn't any Fire and Police sets in the summer.
  16. They will be short lived, I heard a rumor that in 2015 they will be replaced by the Arctic Police and Fire. (This is a joke.) But Amazon USA has had sets on sale 20-30% off as soon as they come out, then raise the price back. Look at the huge sale on Amazon and target this year, BEFORE Christmas. I wish I bought more of the GS sets.
  17. More so when they go on clearance right before Christmas. Does Space Command fit into City? Or my favorite theme title ever... LEGO City Farm? It's not an action theme, they aren't facing monsters or any bad guys so it's a City set.
  18. The Advent Calendars have always seemed to me the place where LEGO throws in a bunch of old pieces they have laying around or pieces they have tons of. I doubt they would waste a ton of new pieces in a calendar. It's like 2013, where did they dig u the astronaut? Just had an extra box or three laying around.
  19. I love it but for one thing... The left hand corner title, the top one, it's not straight. Neither am I but in this one case it's driving me nuts.
  20. I skip the Advent Calendar every year unless I can find one for $10-$20 like in the spring of 2013.
  21. I always thought it was for reference if people came into the physical LEGo Brand Stores so they could match prices and see what's going on with sets. They do that with sale ideas. "Sold out" online for months, but will then be listed as half off. It's so the store knows what the price should be if they have any left.
  22. I almost fell over at the prices in the January catalog, Star Wars and City were so expensive, it was insane. Super Heroes has no make up, TMNT has a little, but City is sickening. We will find out in about two weeks when the NYC fair starts and the set tags have the name, number, price and piece count.
  23. For some reason CITY sets have been as expensive as Star Wars sets for newer sets. Like that Police helicopter and hideout set this year, it's $70-$80 for 550 pieces? The big Arctic base has 736 pieces (I think) and the rumor before the pictures was $100, but it really should be $80-$90 because the police station has 100 more pieces for the same price. But the Arctic helicopter only has 226 pieces, and that would be a $30 set three years ago, but today it will probably be $40+. It's just silly.
  24. I usually like the Friends sets for what they are but the mall set looks very messy. Like the designers came up with 4-5 set designs with spare parts and got rejected. So instead they stuck them together and make a $100 set.
  25. Those sets came out 4 years ago. Last year was 2013. ;) Anyways I love the Arctic sets, some of the best looking City sets in a long time. The prices will make me laugh. I'm sure the helicopter drop set will be $40-$45 even when it should only be $30. Plus I'm sick of $100 bases. I much rather have the big drill thing with the base be it's own set and have only the base, helicopter and dog sled included. I much rather see some $60-$70 base sets instead of every one be $100-$125. Nice job LEGO makes up for the last few years of lacking designs.
