  1. Hey! Have a question, maybe someone can help me. My friend asked me, to build him Ahsoka's curved Lightsaber. And I ran out of options, how to curve that little. Any suggestion?
  2. Daaaaamn... Where was I when this was announced? :D I'm throwing everything away, and starting building! :D
  3. I'm in a little trouble now. :D As I have seen many entries, in the entry thread, all of them pick a theme and created their own figures and setting for it. And I choose a theme, and a nother, and combine them, as it was in the exaple in the description (like forestman in knight kingdom) That wasn't the point of the challenge? Did I misunderstand it? :D
  4. Hey! The sets and the Minifigure lineup must be in the same theme, what I chose, or can be different?
  5. Yeah, having old sets of colors is sometimes great, sometimes a curse. I always told my friends, how much more detail can be built, with these discolored bricks. Like, every brick in that castle has its own story. I consider this a little cheat. Why use smaller, more specific bricks and parts, to build windows, if I have a wall panel, with that size of a window? So I was able to save them up for those parts, where they were needed most. Yeah, inherited from my older cousin. :D not really used it, always tried to build trees, but this time, I needed to put a regular tree in front of the castle, and why not this? I'm always up for criticism. It helps, to become better. I like, to follow my ideal pattern. Like, for stones, rocks are dark blue, walls are light blue, and maybe sometimes dark blue if I want some transition. Like, a wall was carved out of a rock, and there are some rough parts. And everything that is made out of wood, is brown. Like trees, containers, planks, and yes. the timbering on the house. I like this way, Maybe next time, I could use blacks too, and "this timber was coated black" Any way. Thanks for commenting and your opinions. I think, if we will have the instructions, I will build it again. and maybe make a comparison.
  6. Two weeks ago, I challenged myself, to build the 10305 Castle, only looking at the pictures that we get so far. After measuring every stud, in each room, tower, or wall section. Figure out most of the mechanisms in the castle, tried every angle I can say, it is done! More and more review appears these days, so it's my time too, to show you, what was I able to create from my own bricks: First: I ditched the Queen, young prince, and mostly female warriors, I think, for the latter, it isn't realistic. Also wasn't a fan of the Lion Knights, nowadays, I build with Wolfpack. So, the army was ready. Second. I changed the interior in some rooms (mostly, the kid's room) Sadly, had some mistakes. Like, I didn't build an extra secret room, behind the tree. Didn't equip the privy chambers, and doesn't put a bell in the belltower. Cause, they weren't detailed in the pictures. The drawbridge works a bit differently too. Didn't use any weight on either side. The bridge goes down by its own weight (in the original, the weight is on the castle's side, so in that way, it is close). I used a gear rack system, sliding up and down a plate, which makes pressure or releases the pressure on the castle side of the drawbridge. (Sounds difficult, but check it out in the video. :D) My proudest part was figuring out how to turn the balcony into a bridge. Anyway, I think, my "Why-to-buy-an-expensive-set-if-I-could-build-it-from-my-own-parts" Challenge is done! And the pictures: Front and back of the castle. I think I got really the look. Minifigs: Here are the most changes. Like, the entire Lion Knight army is replaced to be Wolfpack. The Black Falcons replaced by Bull Lnights, (Cedric Gilbert and Weezil). And instead of the noble kid, I got a stable boy. Interior and extras: Also find more pictures on Flickr,or watch the video here!
  7. I started exactly two weeks ago. I worked on it every weekend, from dawn till dusk. During the week, I came home from work, and continued the castle. Sometimes I worked on it, before I went to work.
  8. So, maybe this will be a little unorthodox. But I finished mine 10305 Lion Knight's Castle, in the middle of this week. One day before I started seeing reviews. And just finished a little video, about how I built it, (and what twist did I put in there). I will upload the pictures later, and make an official topic about it. If you are interested, see my video here. Update: here is the link, to my 10305 topic.
  9. Wao! really nice! especially the inside mechanism! Damn, I was this close to making a windmill myself soon, but need to wait a bit longer, so the hype could settle down :D
  10. Grats! @Ecclesiastes, looks like creativity is still not the winning recipe. :D

  16. Hey there. I'm not a big City and Town builder, but I got a request (@Aurore) To share my little Calendar project, here on Eurobricks. A small backstory: I'm running a second-hand Lego shop, in Hungary. the last year, I made a Christmas Tree, in the shop's windows, and this year I wanted to create an advent calendar for the shop. Every Day I add a new little shop, and I will have my own Christmas Market. If you are interested, follow me. The 1st of December. Nut-cracker shop. The 2nd of December. Hand Crafted Honey Shop. The 3rd. of December. Just a regular snowman, cause, why not? :D The 4th and 5th of December. A Baker shop. For the weekend, I put a bit larger build, cause, we are closed during Sunday, and I'm unable (and didn't want) to go into the shop, to put out another shop. :D The 6th of December. Saint Nicholas Day. This is a special day for me. Cause, I'm too Nicholas, and this is my Name day. Here in Hungary we usually celebrate it, with something small present. But in my opinion, on this day, we, who bear this name must give presents. The 7th of December. Snowglobe vendor. The 8th of December.Roasted chestnut seller, The 9th of December.Pastry shop The 10th of December. Another Snowman, again The 11th and 12th of December. Ice Sculptor The 13th of December. Coat Vendor. And the 14th is Fish Seller, who saw everything on the sea... The 15th of December. Mulled Wine shop The 16th of December. Snowman The 17th of December. Christmas Carol The 18th-19th of December. Pine Tree vendor 20th of December. Hat Vendor. 21th of December. Sausage Shop. 22th of December. and Petting Zoo with real reindeer. The 23th to 24th of December.

  18. My votes: 1 point: 18 Aurore 1. point: 13 Ayrlego 1. point: 5 Grover (just for trying :D)
  19. Heh, really nice idea. <3 I'm too making a little Advent Calendar, but for my store. I'm making a Christmas Market for the small city in the shop's windows. Every day I add another vendor, who is selling Christmas related goods. :D
  20. Just like my table during building. :) No, it was displayed in my store during August. I have already disassembled it. I always try, to bring my MOCS in the store, to show the customers what can they build from Lego. If you are interested I can send you a message, if I bring something in the store. :) I used hinges. The right wall is straight, and the arch, with Book I and II. was turned with the hinges. The floor got a gap there, (this happens when you push yourself away from the table while sitting.) So I used this little 1 plate deep gap, to put there a 1x1 stud so the other side of the hinged arch won't move further. :) And Thank you, for the comments, it gave me again some support, to continue this hobby of mine. Slowly I would find the right way, to build and also take pictures (and edit them). This huge book concept was in my mind, for several years, but never had a chance to show it, or just maybe in freebuild. But I'm glad all of you liked it. :)
  21. Here's the Story: I work in a small secondhand Lego store. in our capital. The boss got a new display and placed it on my desk. He wanted to put there the exclusive Minifigures, from 75290, 76178, and 71741. But the top of it was a mess, and he asked me if I can build something on the top of it, to hide the ugly part. I was thinking, and came up, with a joke idea. I asked him: "How bout, our Sacred Crown?" As I finished the sentence, I already regret it. :D He liked the idea, and told me: "Great idea, and good luck!". And here it is: The history of the crown says: it was put together, from two crowns. The rim (lower circle) corona graeca, and the cross straps corona latina. The rim got 16 panels, half of the panels got huge gems and the other eight got... well... I run out of saints in the store but got a buttload of Minifigures from various themes, so I decided, to put them in the icons, instead of the saints. The cross straps also got eight panels, which contains also eight saints, and they were also replaced with figures from Lego themes. :D The cross on the top of the crown got damaged and got a bend in that way. Hope you liked it. C&C are welcome, and if you visit Hungary, don't forget to visit me in my store, and be amazed by this magnificent work of art. :) More pictures
  22. Hm... Name: Firewood Execution method, for "being in a wrong place" "Really gruesome fate for the Avalonian tree-folk. Sometimes superstitious peasants near the forest borders hunt for tree-folk. They think if they chop them up, and toss them into the fire, the next harvest will be rich! No one knows if this theory is possible, cause the family always disappears in strange circumstances... Like their house is filled with leaves tree branches and tree barks...
  23. Yes, he is. I'm glad you too believe, there is a spark between them. ;) Anyway, will you update your Natural History of Historica volumes with the CMF's plants and critters? :D
  24. Great figures! I was this close, to make a treant-like creature, in my CMF. :D Good Job!
