  1. Haldor felt slightly bewildered. "So, you are sure that Wren does not know the location of the temple? This is good news for us, and one less thing to secure. Powerful as she might be, I doubt that the which would dare cross the path of a real dragon, and less so one of such great power. Zane, where would we find this dragon?"
  2. "Push forward my friends, we have these creatures on the back foot!" The shaman balances himself as he builds up strength for a wide swing of Zoot er Isen in the direction of Expert A, aiming to swipe the thing's ugly head clean off. From the front row.
  3. "Excuse me, Skrall? I'm bleeding out over here, and you want me to be spoon-feed potions to our spell-flinging friend? Fine then, I'll try, if I can catch the bugger, that is." Haldor stops short of rugby-tackling Arthur to the floor in an effort to get him to drink the darn potion.
  4. How about: Barbarian Brute High Cleric Guardian Knight Archmage Ranger Scout Rogue Bandit Sound good?
  5. "I can probably chance one more go before I have to heal myself. You know me, living on the edge." Haldor prepared himself for another attack, swinging at Expert C from the back row.
  6. Wait, the deadline was yesterday? I guess it's my fault for not reading the dates properly, I thought that the first round finished on the 12th. :wall: I'll have to try doubly hard on challenge two, seeing as I screwed this up. Sorry folks, especially my team members, who I let down.
  7. "It's going to take more than that to stop me, on your feet, beast!" Haldor swipes at Expert A, whilst making sure to keep himself out of harms way in the back row.
  8. Seriously?! Skrall is a freakin' boss!
  9. So, would Zoot er Isen deal quadrouple damage to a Demon/Dark, or just double?
  10. Here are some pictures of Elrond with the new cape, taken by me. I must say that it looks rather good. And with both: To be honest, it looks rather silly. I much prefer the new cape to the short one or this combination, and maybe even more so to the regular cape. I think it looks far from stupid. The way the cape is cut looks good with the robe printing or Elrond's torso. This cape wasn't designed for long hair, it was because Shredder is likely to have shoulder armour or pauldrons like the spikey ones for Prince of Persia; and this one would work if he wanted to wear them over his cape as well as under it.
  11. Haldor unstrapped Zoot er Isen from his back and stepped forward. "No offence to you apothecary sir, but you seem to have an infestation. About time for some housecleaning?" The nord mouthed the word 'Freak' at the oddly dressed orcish demon thing, but elected to leave him alone for now on account of his specials. Instead, Haldor lowered his weapon to swing at Expert B, from the front row.
  12. One can fire a crossbow without too much dfficulty from one hand (Since all that needs to be done is the pulling of a trigger), but the weight of it would mean that one probably couldn't even hold it straight for very long, let alone target anything. One would also need both hands for reloading (To retract the mechanism and load a bolt), so wielding a hand shield with a crossbow would be unrealistic and totally useless. That's why it makes sense for Docken to use an arm-mounted shield, so he can actually use his weapons. Although the shield would also be rather heavy, decreasing his overall aim. But not forgetting that this is a fictional fantasy game, where strength is all relative, I don't see why Wardens can't lug around any shield that they feel fit.
  13. Hmm, that man looks familiar... It's quite hard to imagine Haldor's situation, walking into a shop to see a man with exactly the same face as him.
  14. "Aye, lad, that sounds very much like a trick she would play. Heroica will fall, Zoot will rise, the site of the hall itself, a monument to the Order, becoming the very opening in which chaos can pour; yes, I can see her thinking in that vein. Imagine that, the last standing force in the city becoming its fall; what a perfect victory for Wren?" "You've a very perceptive mind, Arthur, we'll have to remember that for later. But do be aware that there are still many heroes, and possibly even the veterans themselves, residing inside those walls, they will not take kindly to the Witch's antics. They would be aware by now if the door had formed there. Unless that is her plan, to strike silently and at the last moment, widen the passage once the time is close, giving us little time to respond. She would not try such a thing so open while we are near, she will be hiding back, gathering her strength, preparing to strike once we have been drawn away. If Heroica falls, there will be nothing standing to oppose her reign of terror, right up until the moment when the heavens open, and Zoot the accursed himself descends..." He stopped himself before his mouth could run further, this fearful talk would not help the mission. "But first, we had better continue with what we are doing, we must locate and secure the other spires before we turn our eyes back to possible and dangerous truths. She is on the move, and every moment we waste, she grows stronger. Come on, Regulus, we have work to do."
  15. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Great addition to the already good franchise. Good fun with some humourous bits and nice fight scenes. Thought that Penelope Cruz was good too!
  16. Haldor looks at his companions. They were a mismatched bunch, but mostly all of good heart, and it would be difficult to find a better prepared and experianced crew in all of Heroica. These were good people. "So we're to the apothecary, are we not? Sounds good to me, and I'll be going with my favourite people too. We make a good team, Skrall, and you too Hoke, we've had some good times. And Arthur, hopefully you'll be some use if we come accross any of those nasty chaotic folks again. I had better be prepared, and this stuff..." The nord produced a bottle of mead from behind his back. "...I've heard can have very positive effects on both body and mind. Shall we be off then?" Haldor follows on after the rest of the group, helping himself to generous drafts of the strong alcoholic beverage.
  17. Flawless victory! One knows one's done well when Flipz can't wall of text one's wall of text.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tijW_SrCoxs Since Flipz has just made this thing fair-game, it shall become my task to fit in as many obscure Bowie lyrics as possible.
  19. At this point, Haldor walked over to see what was going on. It was Arthur rambling on again, with Dyric offering sensible words in response, but this discussion sounded, different, from the usual lectures that the boy seemed to spurt out. The nord felt compelled to speak his mind, to speak out what things truly were, gone was the arrogance guiding his decisions. "Ah, what Dyric speaks is the truth here, Regulus. I don't see you as a bad person, a cracked one maybe, insane perhaps, but not bad. Your problem is that you isolate yourself from those that could help. No matter what you think, you can't take on all the evils in the world, you need friends to help you along the way. We have all here experiance of Wren, we know her and how she works. She is no evil monster, inflicting death and destruction on the world, she's just a person, even more so cracked than you, Arthur; and she has been swept up by her own insanity and forces that she cannot control. She cannot be bargained with, so therefore, she must die, to protect the innocents that are be caught up in the chaos. We will have to work together and put our best faces on to beat her, she will be waiting to pounce on any sign of weakness. You know her better than most, you feel the most alike to her, so when the time comes, I'm saving that final shot for you." He paused, unsure of what to do next. "I offer you my hand, Arthur, to help you in whatever way I can in your quest for redemption. Take it or leave it, it's been a long time since I've fought alongside someone that I would be willing to die for their cause. I want you to fix yourself, lad, and what a brilliant time to do it, standing on the doorstep of many hells. Time's come that I stopped making this journey about me, and that you come out of the shadow and show us what you can be. Just don't go eating the patrons, alright?"
  20. I love how half of Arthur's speech was written by Green Day.
  21. Face it Regulus, you've killed us all!
  22. I recently popped the email, and recieved a new long blue cape in the post. It is indeed the cut-out one that is being issued as a replacement, but I have no qualms with it at all. It does add a lot to Elrond's overall look with the new cape, and I like the way the trimmed one looks on display.
  23. What, the endless lovestruck cheesing? You liked that? Anyway, it's a fair point. I have been re-reading Quest #28 also, and that one I am less embarrassed of. I think that it contains some aspects of Haldor that I miss; back then he was much more friendly, and had more of a sense of humour. And there were certainly fewer inter-party fights. I ought to see if I can bring some of that back in.
  24. Have you read Quest #19? Please, don't, it's horrific. Haldor is literally the only reason that the quest isn't fun to read for me, the nord was such a irritating n00B back then.
  25. To be honest, Haldor was pretty crap for the entirety of that quest. That's why when he chose his advanced class he had to go through such a major overhaul, so that people wouldn't actually mind having to read his posts.
