  1. Haldor sighed as he pushed open the familiar doors and wound his way through various chairs and tables to find himself a place to sit. There were quite a few people around, but he didn't mind. The nord waved for an ale to be brought over and sat quietly for a moment, staring up into the flickering light of the fireplace. "That smell... smell's like... home." Haldor looked around. Nearby were the familiar faces of Guts and Alexandre, and a few others he didn't know. But out of the corner of his eye, the nord spotted a face he certainly didn't expect to see. Jess was sitting in the corner, deep in conversation with Alexis, about what he couldn't think. Haldor froze for a moment, unsure as to whether he should make himself known, but soon thought better of this idea and simply resolved to hope that she had not realised his return - it would be easier for everyone if he didn't have to speak to his elven former love. Lost in reflective thought, Haldor unhitched his weapons from his back and placing them roughly on a stool, amongst them a shining pair of brand-new tridents, and began fiddling with a rough grating stone that he had produced from his pocket somewhere. "I can't imagine anyone wants this junk, but still, some like that sort of thing..."
  2. Can we post in the hall thread now, CJP?
  3. Me too, I thought it was the norm.
  4. Haldor stares at Julio's bleeding corpse for a while, unsure of what to say. "Sometimes it has to be done - it ain't pretty, but sometimes there's no other way." He turns to Brutus. "I hope that everything works out for you and your city, Brutus - we did all we could. I'll take that amethyst and bid you well, it's time me and my comrades went home." The nord nods in gratitude and turns to leave. "Romulus, Xander, Mizuki, you've all been good this quest and done some serious work. With any luck, these people will be able to build up their lives again - get the sun shining and all that. As for Julio... well, we did what we had to, I want no ill-will over this. But now we must go home again, back to good old Eubric and a fair pint waiting."
  5. I'm surprised that Julio even noticed the heroes were in the room.
  6. Atramor says it like it is.
  7. No, you're quite right...
  8. I'm not quite sure that I disdain them that much... Exactly, writers should strive to make their characters unique, or at the very least distinctive.
  9. Wow, thanks for finding that for me. It certainly explains a lot about the early days of the war in so little time.
  10. Why does everyone need a companion character so suddenly?
  11. Oh, and by the way, your spoiler tags have broken.
  12. I suggest that you read the Embassy article on this, hopefully it'll clear things up.
  13. I don't know whether Ulfric is a werewolf in the sense that he does not transform and werewolf is his species, however the generals were almost certainly bitten at some point.
  14. If he were my character, I'd stick with the mute aspect. It's certainly a profound trait, which would probably be more powerful if you didn't have him talk to himself or such, but instead tried to convey his feelings as much as possible by action.
  15. Just how obvious does that Senator need to be? The single most obvious issue with Oblivion is that the player is unable to simply stick an axe in that stupid kid's hair. To paraphrase Zepher: "Don't play with yourself!" I, however, agree.
  16. "It seems as though you're as ignorant of what happens in this city, right under your nose, as you are of what will happen to you now. Tell me, Julio, why is it that violent gangs roam un-interrupted on the streets like dogs, while you sit here in your palace drinking fine wines and sitting back, blissfully unaware? Do you know your job, mate? You should be sorting crap out, it shouldn't take a couple of blokes (and a lass) from across the sea to help the people of your city. Just take a walk down these streets and you will see what needs to be done - what isn't being done." Haldor walks slowly forwards, unhitching his sceptres and holding them behind his back as he does so. "You know what we Norse do to people of your kind, Julio? We tell them to move their ars'e out of the way, and if they don't... we make them."
  17. I need to think of something irrelevant to write here.

  18. I was also pleased to see the return of the Zygons. All we need now is a new Sea Devils episode and then the set will be complete!
  19. Can I wriggle-out of a review and just state that this episode was bloody good?
  20. "Julio has said he wants to meet us. We're the folks who have been clearing up your city for the past couple of days. Stopping thugs, beating back hordes, the like. If you wouldn't be so kind as to let us pass, mate, you can avoid the embarrassment of being bollocked for refusing us later."
  21. "Ah, what the heck, I'll take another one of those helmets for 33 gold pieces. That'll be all, mate." Haldor slings another of the bronze helmets onto his back and leads the party off in the direction of the palace.
  22. I'm curious to know what Haldor did wrong...
  23. I'm a huge fan of 1970's rock, hard rock and progressive rock, mostly of the British variety. I generally dislike metal for the reason that I find it almost impossible to enjoy, and Led Zeppelin is the furthest down that route that I'm willing to go. If I had to decide on a top 10 artists to classify as my favourite, it'd probably look like this: David Bowie Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin Queen The Rolling Stones The Who The Kinks The Clash Fleetwood Mac T. Rex In no particular order, as I couldn't really draw much between these. I do listen to some of the artists more often than others however, for example I would be willing to listen to Bowie any hour of the day, but only T. Rex if I'm in the mood for some shallow, trashy light rock music.
  24. Haldor rifles through the stock, picking-out a pair of sharp tridents with one hand and rummaging around his pockets to find gold with the other. "I'll take two of your tridents, if it's all the same to you. That's 340 gold pieces, right?" The nord hands over the charge and nods in thanks to the shopkeeper, then turns back to the other heroes. "If any of you want to pick anything up, now's the time. When you're all done, we'll head off to meet Brutus at the palace."
  25. What does the bleeding effect do?
