Heroica RPG - Quest #80: Sic Semper Tyrannis
Scorpiox replied to Capt.JohnPaul's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I'd like to stop-off at the shops for a little while and pick up a coupla' items - something tells me that there'll be someone interested in a trident or two back home. Once we're done there, we'll go and meet you at the palace." -
A few days ago I purchased the recent Mandalorian Speeder on a whim, and I am not disappointed. It's a nice little vehicle, with exquisite minifigures - the only blemish being Maul's ugly and over-sized legs, which won't be too difficult to replace.

Do you think that we will be finished in time for the Baltorak trilogy, CJP? I'd very much like to come along.

"Nice hit, Xander, you're not one to mess-around. I don't think any more of the buggers'll be coming back anytime near." Haldor clambers indelicately over the corpses, checking around for the odd item that may fetch something back home. "Got some nice stuff here, folks. If you don't like what it is you're getting, don't hesitate to shout it out." Loot: Xander - Mead (2x), Remedy (2x), Potion (4x), 85 gold Mizuki - Fire bomb, Mead (2x), Potion (4x), Shield, 85 gold Romulus - Nostrum, Venom, Potion (4x), Axe, 85 gold Haldor - Grand Tonic (2x), Ether Core, Grating Stone, 85 gold The nord looks around to see if he can spot Brutus amongst the crowd. "You think we've made enough of a name for ourselves yet, Brutus?" -
Things are gonna get awkward!

There's not much for anyone to do this round, so please can we move on? Haldor produces a comb and begins using it. -
I've stood back, reflected and decided to re-evaluate the situation. I don't think that it was this particular decision or the overarching way things are run that irritated, it was rather more a couple of things that certain people posted that really rubbed me the wrong way. It's not worth anybody's time continuing this feud of sorts, so I'm happy to move on and just pretend that this particular thing wasn't posted at all. I understand why affairs are as they are, and it was more the way that somebody described them, in a way that I know doesn't reflect reality, that I found irritating. I will say no more.
-
I'm sorry, but I didn't like these statements at all, not one bit. I think that I'd probably just enjoy the game more if I didn't bother trying to fight a losing battle.
-
I can't be bothered to deal with this situation. From what I can gather, my opinions are welcome, so long as if they are what people want to read.
-
I don't know what to say, other than make it clear that I have no plans to dare discuss rules in the near future.

I think that I've identified the single largest flaw in our game... but I shan't write it here because others would not react favourably to my statements.
-
Never mind.
-
I'm sorry, what do you mean 'the prequels'? There are only three Star Wars films, unless you mean those other stories that LEGO wrote to make sets from.
-
Does nobody else find debating fun? Especially when it is unnecessary, irrelevant or the issue has already been solved, those are the best kind.

As exciting as this sounds, I don't think I can cope with being eaten alive by the veterans again. But to those who do play: may the eternal glory of Toehster be with you! -

When I first saw the film in the cinema, all I was thinking throughout was "Damn, why isn't Michael Sheen trading half of his fuel for some time with the 'morale' women? If only there existed some out-of-place deleted scene in which he does just that..." -
To be clear: how does the necromancer class exactly work? Does it operate through acting as a puppeteer for dead things, or does it re-activate organisms and use them as minions?
-
Of course it's up to the QM, but I'm enjoying this. One might not need to actually bring a person back to life to use them in this fashion, but in that case, is this not exactly the same situation as using a machine? A machine's functions only act as mechanical replacement for thought and reaction, so if those things are not of use to a necromancer, neither is repairing a machine. No matter how you think of it, if the necromancer is actually bringing the minion back to life/reactivating the machine, the two require vastly different skills. Or if the necromancer is only using them as a puppet, which I think is how the class works in Heroica, using magic to control a machine is no more difficult than an organic counterpart.
-
If you want to think about it that way: the human body is the most complex piece of 'machinery' known to man, I would think it far easier to use magic to just make a robot move and hit things than to restart a creature's organs and cells into motion whilst making sure one keeps control.

Haldor marches up alongside Xander to also attack the shaman from the front row. Same order. -
No, it would be necromancy plus the logically sound step of also being able to control broken machines.
