Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
KevinMD replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I had a Disney error where I got Mickey’s head in a Mini bag. They sent the replacement head. I’ve also had problems with bags in the past and all they did was send a random bag. Probably depends on timing though, I think I opened my Disney series in the first week or so of release. -
Plenty of folks in US order from Zavvi without issue. Perhaps packing could be better occasionally. Have hope!

Walmart or Walgreens (apparently). B&N already mentioned is another good option. -
Cool review, thanks! The tanker is really well done and probably my favorite of the models you built. Also appreciate the loaded lowboy to show size. wish these were HOG instead of powered, I would be much more inclined to purchase one or two!

I mean the number may be off, or that’s an initial run to see popularity of the concept and they will produce a second run world wide. No idea but it’s definitely limited to the UK market.
-
I read something saying it’s limited to 10k? We will see. Ordered 50 just in case!

Interesting that they switched to the Zetros tires in the rear. I guess to help differentiate between V1 and V2, and the tires do look a little closer to the real vehicle. I’m not seeing much else different between the models at first glance though. Couple areas where they have tiled it and it looks like they’ve reworked the rear quarter panels. Hopefully we’ll see more detailed pictures soon.

As technic is not the primary theme I purchase, I can either wait to purchase this at 30+% discount or not at all and build an MOC instead. I do like the looks overall though and expect a few members here will sufficiently ’pimp’ this set to entice a purchase. regarding cost and/or the one hub/4 motor complaints, I wonder how much supply chain issues factor into this. Costs of all materials and associated transportation are sky high, and electronic goods are having their own supply line issues. It may be they wanted a second hub but couldn’t guarantee enough parts. Prices are just a product of the times, I’m afraid.

Do you prefer ease of sale, or maximum return? If ease, post all for sale together, wait for that one person who wants all your sets, and then sell. If you want the the largest return, sell individually. As far as price, do your own research. eBay and bricklink should give a good indicator of recent sales.

[MOC] Rába 250 Tractor
KevinMD replied to kodlovag's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great looking tractor! I’ll echo the comments saying the minimalist look works very well here. -
@Thirdwigg and @Seasider were my two favorite entrants so I am thrilled to see them take gold and silver. I thought ‘wigg’s choice to wheels seemed too large for the set, which put it below Sea’s, but splitting hairs over two marvelous builds. Again, as I said on my voting entry, so many amazing builds it was tough to narrow it down. @Jim what a perfect contest, even if the criteria were a bit open for debate. Perhaps another go limiting to a specific theme or something in the future could be in the cards? I could looked at these builds all day.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
KevinMD replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If the Titanic takes the same slot the Colosseum had (BF), I would imagine early November. 100% before 12/1 though. -
Yours was one I struggled with. mostly faithful to original in terms of styling. Amazing showing of technic features. I just hate the original set (looks are very off for db5) and had 6 other sets I liked both form and function. Top 10 for me though and I was in awe of your building skills with the limited pieces at your disposal.

@Lyichir I had a similar problem updating Mario recently for desert pokey, ended up stuck with the Bluetooth download icon. Managed to update him on a different device. It was almost like the Mario app on my son’s IPad was corrupting the download. Not sure if you have another phone/tablet but trying that may help.

Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

MCU’s first lead Chinese super hero, taken out by the China virus. There’s some irony there! Thankfully the lego sets have not suffered the same fate. It’ll be a shame if later movies are delayed and that ends up impacting future set development. Perhaps a silver lining would be these delays allowing lego to release additional anniversary sets of past movies they otherwise wouldn’t’ve been able to. -
I didn’t remember Habitat 67. That an interesting bit of history I’d forgotten/ missed. Wasn’t architecture ATR’s baby? I really feel like he grew the line and most of the inspired builds came from him or during his tenure. I just feel like there isn’t a creative presence at Lego that looks at the line and says, “this line should be about interesting architectural designs.” The continued (and expanded) city scapes line couple with tourist attractions seems to validate this. Having a ban of religious buildings doesn’t help things in my mind. There are some fantastic European / Asian temple designs we’re missing out on.
