LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace TV Special
Pingles replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wonder why they don't make them available online after airing? Seems like an awful lot of people who would have visited their site (and had plenty of ads blasted at them) just go looking elsewhere for it. Old media/New media disconnect, I suppose. And to the folks searching for codecs, please be sure your antivirus/malware software is up to date. -
Can I power my train with the parts that I've got?

Thanks Toastie and Sava! Gonna have to note that for myself somewhere! -

Snipping the wires on one of the power cords and reversing them would likely work as well. Cheap little modification if you like dinking around with that kinda stuff. -
That stack of hundreds has me intrigued for many different reasons.

Great, detailed review. Hard to believe that was twenty years ago! But for a few changes that set seems like it could have been released this year.

Thought it was a bit station-heavy but an excellent assortment of builds for the price. Thoroughly impressed. The bus is a regular plaything for my three year old daughter. She loves it!

So glad you guys still do this. Sticking with digital but donating for your excellent work.

It's just like Flea Markets. If you sell something for a reasonable, cheap price it gets purchased but the person buying it is another seller who marks it up for the market value. Kinda heartbreaking. But not much you can do about it.

I am not familiar with the instructions well enough to know what motors are called for. But what you have described is a working combination! Congrats! The only thing I see missing is the remote controller itself. -
Took my breath away, friend. Absolutely inspiring.
-
I always assumed that the price you pay for those instructions is based on how much trouble they are. I figured they did Ldraw screenshots then photoshopped in arrows and packaged them in pdfs. Time-consuming, to be sure although it is the kind of thing I think would be fun, especially when you had a finished product to distribute.

It will be interesting to see if what Lego comes up with is successful. From what I'm hearing I don't think my daughter will be interested but I look forward to trying it out on her. But if it doesn't work perhaps we can try to guide Lego on their next Girl venture. I'd love to see sets of just girl-themed regular minifigure sets. Perhaps even a Fantasy theme with the girl as the Hero a la Lara Croft. And by Lara Croft I mean a strong female protagonist...not unrealistic physical proportions.

Well, still eagerly awaiting it on Lego.com here in the states. Looking forward to getting that engine. And some more track. :) Used ALL of my track a week or so ago and realized I didn't even have enough to hit three rooms of my upstairs. :(

I still gladly pay Lego their "premium" after my daughter got a MegaBlocks set as a gift. The models won't even stay together the quality of the bricks is SO bad. But I have to admit that my last purchase was a $99.99 set. I liked the models so I bought it and then the next day realized I spent ONE HUNDRED dollars on a plastic toy. I am lucky enough to be at the point in my life where that $100 is available without too much trouble but still... it's a HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Went from one pic to the next being more and more impressed each time!

I like Lego's Tram in their Transportation set.
-
Yikes. I see what the value is in having an American friend willing to ship stuff to you.
-
LOL. Didn't notice the date and kept trying to get the first post link to work.

Hurray!

I am intrigued. My daughter has no interest in Duplo but is a bit too little for regular Lego. I have been reinforcing sets so her young hands can play with them without ending up with a handful of pieces each time. She currently plays with my Lego trains and trucks but would love to see how she reacts to more "girly" sets.

Scale caught me off guard. Great design!

MOCs: Models of trains running in Hungary
Pingles replied to Ashi Valkoinen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Where I currently live trains play a very, very minor part in everyone's lives. But I have, in the past, lived in places where just about everyone took the train. It must be wonderful to have a public show of a custom train set based on the train that people use on a daily basis. I would imagine that there is extra "magic" in that. -
As someone relatively new here to AFOL Lego'ing I am curious if we have seen this type of behavior before from Lego. It sure seems odd to have a product already in customers hands before the company even formally announces it or explains what the availability will be. Does Lego have a presence on these forums? I'm not complaining, I just find it curious.
