  1. This is probably the best build I've seen here. Also is another great example of Norse architecture.
  2. Very nice set of builds that tell the story very nicely. Like Titus, I would suggest some more detail on the ground, but otherwise your builds are very well done.
  3. Nice build. I really like the uneven wall with the light tan on top. The texture on the ground is also very good. Though I would suggest, like the other users, maybe a guard post or something, the build is still very impressive, and fits very well into Mitgardia.
  4. I really like your army. They look very professional. I wish I had that many Avalonian soldiers.
  5. The houses are very colorful, and make a nice background for the market. The market scene is also very lively. I also like the crutches on the door and the stone circle around the tree. I can't wait to read the story about the soldiers marching to Nocturnus.
  6. This town is very impressive. I cannot spot any part of the build that doesn't have detail. The mountain is amazing, especially the fact that there is a whole community in there. This is also a perfect example of northern architecture.
  7. The detail on the house is amazing, as the sand green and round grey plates really make it more realistic. All the other details on the house are great as well. The two forestmen climbing up on the back is also a really nice addition. Though it doesn't have your trademark interior, I completely understand why.
  8. This build is really well done. I really like the detail on the stone, the dense foliage, and the burnt sections of the house. The perspective on the first picture is great too. Anyways, if you need help defeating the Drow, I can always send some soldiers to aid you. The Drow are our common enemy, and have been a nuisance on my lands too.
  9. Thanks Titus and Henjin Quilones. Now, without further adieu, here is my sig fig. Lord Brandon Stark of Lys Brandon Stark was born as the illegitimate son of Lord Viserys of House Lynderly, a vassal of House Drondil, and a minor Kaliphlin noblewoman. Unlike most "baseborn", as illegitimate children are called, he was raised in his father's family castle, and his mother's identity was only known by his father. Often treated as an outsider to his family, Brandon found it hard to get accepted by society. Nevertheless, he was given a good martial education by the master-at-arms, and was taught to read and write by the maester. Brandon was never poor, and always had good food and a roof to sleep under at night. He was also good friends with his trueborn siblings. From when he was old enough to now he was "a different person", Brandon knew that he would always be treated that way his whole life, and would never be allowed to inherit anything. So, at sixteen, he left home to make his place in the world. He traveled the lands of Historica for two years, before returning to Avalonia just as Artorious Rex arrived in Avalonia. Brandon immediately joined the Flight of Dragons, and impressed Artorious with his exceptional fighting skills. When the Guild of Avalonia was founded, he was finally legitimized and knighted, founding House Stark. He was also given a position in Albion, and appointed Lord of Dragonstone. During the Kaliphlin Civil War, Brandon went south, during which he met his mother and her family, who were staunch High Council supporters. After the war ended, the Desert King occupied much of the guild, and started to seize the lands of lords loyal to High Council, giving them to his loyal subjects. When his mother's family fled to Avalonia, he granted them a piece of land of the Avalonian mainland for them to rule. Brandon is often looked down on by the other nobility in Albion, due to his origins. Because illegitimate children are often looked down upon in Avalonian society, many are jealous and surprised that one like him would rise up to his current standing. He has used this to his advantage, for few would come to suspect his ambitions. Brandon, friendly but emotionless on the outside, is a master at court intrigue, and has a good sized spy network. However, Brandon only does what he feels is right, and would do almost anything to protect his family. Many in his inner circle enjoy favors. However, he does not tolerate wanton destruction or harm. Being rejected himself, Brandon has a soft side for those rejected by society. This is my sigfig, in more formal clothing. I would like to create a whole new island where the blue circle is, and claim a strip of land on the mainland. However, I see that "Ranevel" is already there, so I would like to ask permission from the owner. A map of the island is above. I will upload a better one later. I have decided to abandon my earlier claims for a new area. This is also my official intro, since I just got my bricks back.
  10. I'm about to post my sigfig, but I have one more thing. I need my sigfig to come from one of the Avalonian provinces. His family would be the vassal of the ruling family of that province. Can I come from anyone's land? Sorry for asking too many questions, I should post my sigfig today.
  11. Thanks for the advice, I will make sure to consider that when buying my next set. I'm digging through my collection now, hoping to find a good minifigure for my sigfig.
  12. I got all of my bricks back now, and it seems now that I have a good amount of bricks to build in Avalonia. However, I don't have many "medieval" minifigures, so I am waiting for my Mirkwood Elf Army to arrive, which won't come until the 20th. Unfortunately, school starts a few days before that, so I probably won't be able to post my official intro, much less any builds. I really hoped I could join the Guilds before summer ended, but it seems I can't. I still really look forward to joining this great community and will try to post and visit whenever I can. Also, what would you guys suggest would be good Lego sets for Avalonia? Somewhere between $30 and $50 for the price range would be good.
  13. First of all, the Enchanted Isles are the Mystic Isles, correct? As for where I wanted it to be, I was thinking somewhere in the northern Mystic Isles, close to the Avalonian coast. I will get a map of this later.
  14. Before I make a official intro and begin my builds and all, I have a few questions. Aside from my piece of land in the Enchanted Forest, are we allowed to own land somewhere else? Like in the Mystic Isles? My second question, which ties in with the first, is, are we allowed to create our own island? I assure you I have it all planned out, and it will be relatively small. I also got my bricks today, and I have less than I though I did. It turns out I haven't collected much over the years, and my dark ages didn't really help with that. I will probably have to build in LDD, but I still can't get POV ray to work. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, as I really wanted to start building, but I can't with all these obstacles. I feel really guilty about not really posting anything, but school starts in a week, meaning I really have to take time off of building. I will try to get a build before the end of the month, but after that, I won't really be doing anything else until the third of September. (Labor Day weekend for us Americans.)
  15. [Lord Stark finishes the last of his meal, before getting up from his chair, grabbing his cloak and sword.] Lord Stark: "I understand that there will be war over who becomes king. Every guild wants to put a different king on the throne, with Kaliphlin itself arguing over three. However, I still hope that one day Historica will find itself a rightful king. Anyways, I must be going now. I hope to visit Sardonica one day when I have the chance." [Lord Stark places a few coins over the counter, before going upstairs to his room.]
  16. I am aware of that, but this is your actual sig fig, so this is more of an "official" introduction. Anyways, good to see that you got your bricks back. I have not gotten my bricks back yet, so I will probably make my official welcome in an LDD build.
  17. Welcome to Avalonia! It's funny how you were the first to welcome me and now I am I first to welcome you. Anyways, I hope to see The Chronicles of Hesperia and Hesperia in general in the future.
  18. [Lord Stark takes a sip of the sweet red wine, before sitting back in his chair. He sighs.] Lord Stark: "It's been three years, and Historica is still without a king. We used to be united as one kingdom, now each guild acts as it's own country. It's starting to remind me of those days before the Kingdom of Historica existed, when everyone used to fight each other." [Lord Stark scans the room before continuing.] Lord Stark: "Like I said, Historica is in a mess. There's three factions fighting for rule of Kaliphlin, Nocturnian rebels fighting the Black Spire, and Mitgardians fighting the Algus. Even Avalonia is not spared from this chaos. The Drow still run free in the Enchanted Forest, and Mitgardians are becoming braver. No one dared to raid towns on our northern borders when Artorious was lord. Lords Regent de Gothia and Simon rule well, but there needs to be a king here to keep all the guilds in check.
  19. [Lord Stark eyes the barrels carefully, looking for a specific wine. After a few seconds he sees the wine he is looking for, and places his order.] Lord Stark: "I think I will go for a taste of home today. How about some sweet red from Lys and a side of a chicken leg and some bread." Master Gabbold: "Certainly, m'lord. Your food and drink will arrive shortly." [Lord Stark turns to Lord Ryder.] Lord Stark: "So, Lord Ryder, you plan to make the journey home tomorrow? The roads have become more dangerous these days. The Algus are in Mitgardia, the Desert King's armies are making their way to Nocturnus, and Nocturnus itself is divided between the rebels and the Black Spire." [After a short while, Lord Stark's food and drink arrives. He then takes a bite out of the chicken leg and a drink for the Lys sweet red before continuing.] Lord Stark: "You see, I've been in the capital for over a week now, though I plan to stay for two, or more. I happen to live farthest west in the western guild, so a journey to the capital takes weeks. These are dark times, my friend. You can't afford to make short stays in the capital anymore. There were times we could travel alone and be safe. Not anymore."
  20. [Lord Stark gestures for Lord Ryder to move to his table.] Lord Stark: "Greetings, Lord Ryder. I am Brandon Stark, Lord of Dragonstone. How do you fare?"
  21. [Brandon stays frozen for a few moments, obviously stunned by the stranger's kiss. He then gets up, picks up his sword and cloak, and goes up to his room, determined to get to know this stranger before either of them leaves.] Brandon: "Gods, if only that handmaiden in Albion was like this."
  22. [Brandon, noticing the goblet being lifted from the side of his eye, turns in that direction and lifts his cup in response.]
  23. [A tall man wearing a brown hooded cloak walks into the room, dripping from the rain. He removes his cloak to show his black hair, along with his sword and leather armor underneath, showing he is some kind of warrior. He moves to the closest table and scans the rest of the room for a few moments before draping his cloak and sheath onto the chair next to him. Sitting down, he sees Master Gabbold is busy at the moment, and instead gestures for a serving girl to come towards his table.] Serving Girl: "What would you like, sir? And my I get your name?" Warrior: "My name is Ser Brandon, from Avalonia, and I think I will go for something exotic. How about some Sultan's Spice Lager?" Serving Girl: "Good day, Ser Brandon. Your Lager will come shortly."
  24. Thanks for the answers. I'm not going to build in LDD all the time, just when I need to build something large. I will still try to use real lego bricks in most of my builds.
  25. Can I build in LDD, and is it frowned upon? I've seen many LDD builds, and I thinking I could use them for some of my larger builds.
