Honestly, like with a few themes (namely the superhero stuff) it seems there’s a big emphasis on things becoming ‘simpler’. However, unlike those themes, here I think they’ve contained it to the current Hogwarts expansions. Which is fine by me, because those sets still come with great Mini-figures, parts and accessories, and I have my Hogwarts stuff from previous years to use. And outside of the Hogwarts sets we’re still getting great stuff like hogsMeade and the chess set. But they also seem to be going outside the box with the moments sets and the trunk. Whilst the concept of those doesn’t interest me, again the Minifigures and accessories have so much care put into them it makes it worth it. I love getting so many accessories and things to populate a Hogwarts display. The sheer amount of printed and stickers stuff we have for this theme like frog cards, bean boxes, multiple marauders maps, the quibbler, Hogwarts express ticket, DA sign up sheet, Hogwarts letter. It’s so awesome and way better than what most themes get. I’m here for this theme all day. As a collector nowadays my collecting focuses more on action figure lines and such, with the odd Lego set, but this theme is the only one that pulls me in to 95% of its output, it’s all so fun and nostalgic and there’s true passion from the team behind it. Even when I don’t like stuff in it (like last years Hogwarts sets) it can clearly be seen what the designers are trying to accomplish and it’s admirable and fun -

But the pieces for the bike would require a set I think, I mean the stuntz bikes are £7/8 for just the bike. Adding a few figures and a sidecar could make it £18 like Expecto Patronum/Room of Requirement -

Exciting! okay, so with what promo bricks is hinting, and with the trio in the hospital wing set being perfect for the werewolf scene…I will be absolutely shocked if we’re not getting a Shrieking Shack! -

I do desperately want Hagrids bike, they could even make it Philosphers Stone themed if they really wanted to. But having a cheap set with Harry, Hagrid, a death eater and maybe Voldemort would be awesome -

Honestly is there really ton of interesting stuff to make from DH? apart from the Gringotts stuff and some Hogwarts expansions. I can’t see things like a lovegood house, malfoy manor or godrics hollow being massive sellers. I really think that Lego missed their opportunity by not doing one more 2018-style Hogwarts set. If they’d done the bell towers, they could of shoved all the characters from those movies people want (the main trio, narcissa malfoy, some snatchers, aberforth etc.) in just one set -

Oh I know it didn’t get pulled early, I never said it did? I thought the country had tried legal action, maybe I was wrong, at the very least there was some “controversy” -

I was initially hyped for the trunk, but considering it’s mainly a parts pack, there’s not too much there that appeals for my needs. Obviously the students are the big draw. But the beans are in the hospital wing set, the quibbled is very similar to the original, and I prefer the size of the original 2 marauder’s map moulds. so for me, if I have the cash, the hospital wing is the priority set for me. Madam pomfrey is a must-have, the builds and accessories for the hospital wing are fab and will be a great update in my Hogwarts MOC, and a dirty hermione and harry will do great with the expecto patronum set. the divination set is the more appealing out of the moments though, trilawny is a good variant and there’s some decent parts. Moody is just an unnecessary recolour (come on, could of had a new lupin and the boggart, or Lockhart and the pixies!) which brings down that set. also, mentioning the new variants of the main 3 in the hospital wing, they are essentially the prints you’d need for a Shrieking Shack set… putting my tinfoil hat on makes me think that one’s much more likely now… -

It’s probably been mentioned, but the box art for boba’s throne room doesn’t actually show it from the back closed up, so do we reckon that’s so Lego done face any legal trouble like they did for Jaba’s palace? -

I’d be surprised if the D2C was a Hogwarts express. I’d absolutely love it, honestly would be a dream come true, but doesn’t seem a lot for the price tag. If it is a Gringotts, how do we reckon they’ll reach the price? Including a massive interior? Or adding extra buildings like Borgin and Burkes -

I’d say the ministry is just as iconic as diagon alley, features just a prominently. Exterior isn’t really a prerequisite for 18+ sets, the display aspect would be gorgeous architecture of the main entrance hall. You say about iconic enough to put such a high price tag on it, but just looking at Lego across the board, and even the Hogwarts icons set, Lego have no problem putting high prices on sets that aren’t really ‘iconic’ or obvious choices. Who would of thought there would be a coliseum or football stations that are multiple hundreds in price. If they think it’ll sell, they’ll make it work. -

I saw a custom lupin wolf that used the Demogorgan’s legs and claws. I think those pieces and a new head mould like the original would be good enough for me, the werewolf design is a hard one to translate, I’d take that compromise. I just hope we get a new dog mould for Sirius/The Grim at some point, would be nice to put that with the Knight Bus to make it a true 2004 remake. If there isn’t going to be any Deathly Hallows set this year, I do hope they continue on from the 2021 sets by covering PoA and GoF. I’m pretty much using the new Hogwarts sets as Minifigure and accessory packs at this point so whatever they produce would be good. (I’m thinking a dark tower with buckbeak and Sirius though) outside of Hogwarts sets though, all that we really need from PoA is the Shrieking Shack, they could maybe even include another Hogsmead shop to add to last year’s set. For GoF, the Durmstrang ship is a must, would love a good Horntail remake, but I feel it’s too close to the last one. The second task hasn’t been done in the new era so that could be on the cards too. as for the D2C, if it’s not Gringots or the Ministry…what the heck could it be? It’s not a Hogwarts expansion, they’d Ben stupid to do another Hogwarts icons-style set with that still out. It’s gotta be Gringots, with a dragon and maybe extra shops like Borgin and Burkes? Or the ministry, which would be amazing. -

Still not a certainty. If it’s happened before it could happen again. There was a time when people said there would never be 18+ sets, sets based on Bond or Stranger things, a UCS AT-AT, a Titanic set. There don’t seem to be solid rules, can’t be ruled out at all imo. It’s been nearly 9 years since the last system Clone wars Gunship and AT-TE. If there was ever a time to revisit those vehicles it’d be now -

Why not. They released a system falcon whilst the UCS is still on shelves. And currently have 2 AT-AT’s on sale. I think it’s pretty likely. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lego is going in for the whole ‘mum can I get that big ship that dad has’ ‘no, but hey there’s a smaller one you can get’ -
The only ones that really jump out to me are the brick yellow pieces at the top of the main body, such a weird inclusion and super noticeable
-
I didn’t even notice that when building. I never plan to take this set apart so don’t really see a massive issue here. Are you really spending this much on a set to take it apart straight away?

I was purchase 8/24 at my local store (Brighton in the UK) got there about 15 minutes after they opened. About halfway through the build now, partway through box 3. Really good build, although the legs and undercarriage can be a bit fiddly and fragile until it’s all together -

It was £750. We were shafted on the ISD too, with it costing the same as the Falcon at £650
