  1. The house is a bit too small to be Simpsons house size. It’s only one floor for starters. There’s 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living area. Without the alphabet lights/ mind flayer drawings, there isn’t really much to make the house in steering. The sheer size of this set really confuses me. They could easily make a good facade of the house with less than 1500 pieces, makes me think we’ll atleast get fort Byers and Hopper’s police car as well as the house, if it even is the house. Could be the government building. I also wonder whether we will get any characters from beyond season 1? Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will. Eleven, Hopper, Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve and the baddie guy gives us 11 minifigs. It would be nice to get Max and Billy (and I guess Barb, I really don’t get why people care so much about the character) but then that’s 14 figs, which I can’t see happening at this price point
  2. That’s alright mate, it was an interesting thought, and it was really hard to think of a franchise less than 10 years old without going to brickset! they should reveal it, but they’ve already sent out emails with the 15th written as the reveal date. Kinda sucks it’s revealed the day of the midnight event, I might go to it and it would suck if it’s a bad set
  3. I’m on about all the sets. They were very well priced in the uk last year, they seem to be regular licences prices now
  4. The prices don’t seem as good compared to last year, but oh wellx hopefully Minerva comes with a dress piece
  5. The quinjet the set is based upon is the Avengers/Winter soldier one, but in the 2015 colours, kind of, it should have some read and white in there for that. It wasn’t in the movie at all, and hasn’t been in a movie since 2014 thw sets were terrible inaccurate, but then again basically all merch was. The only things worth getting from the war are caps helmet, Iron Man Mk85, Thanos and the outriders. i think the hall of armour should have been billed a ‘The first 10 years’ set
  6. I believe they mean the inception of the franchise. Otherwise most themes happen the same year as what they’re based on (first marvel, Star Wars, speed racer, prince of Persia, Jurassic world etc.)
  7. How about adventure time? Not sure when that started but the set(s) couldn’t have been too long after There’s also Ben 10, Avatar, Cars, Pirates of the Caribbean. Those were all less than 10 years, maybe even less than 5
  8. Huh, interesting. I didn’t think it was as scary as people had said when this rumour broke. But rewatching season 1 more recently, it’s more 15 (r) than 12 (pg-13) in my opinion.
  9. Sorry my tone is a bit off in my reply, sounded a bit too serious. I got that it was a joke, but an alarming amount of people do think that Lego are going the micro scale route for everything after only 3 sets in 5 years
  10. People keep saying this about everything. As with Jurassic Park, this is not an iconic big building/vehicle. It will be system scale
  11. Giant man-style Gwarp is the only way to go
  12. Stranger things is way too gory and scary to be PG-13/12a. The home video releases have all been rather 15 in the UK, and R in America I believe. It recaptures goonies etc., but also implements Stephen king horror elements. The title font is even a replica of the font used for some of his books
  13. There’s a partial photograph in the teaser, which is a screen grab of Will Byres from Stranger things
  14. It’s also the nostalgic nature of the show I think. It’s in the tone of things like ET, Goonies etc., which we know Lego don’t mind doing, so it appeals in the same way
  15. It is, there’s a fair bit of gore and scares. I think Lego are edging towards producing more adult sets. They’ve really gathered a larger adult market over the past few years, and with all the 80s stuff, then 007, and now this, I think they’re going fully towards some adult themed sets. Nothing too crazy, I doubt we’d ever get game of thrones or something like that. But something like stranger things that walks the line
  16. That’s not where the willow is, it was moved from movie 3 onwards, it’s across the bridge behind the clocktower. but anyway, yeah the Lego sets just give us the buildings and we can decide how to position them. The willow set, and it seems the clocktower, are very modular can can be attached to each other in many different ways
  17. That’s where it would be to be accurate, but Lego aren’t really going for absolute accuracy. This is how they’ll advertise it probably
  18. YES! I was still wondering, but damn it’s actually true. thinking about all those neysayers right now haha
  19. I think the Bond set also had the night price for what it was, and the fact it was widely negatively received for just not looking great, bring down its sales. If this set is minifig scale, well priced and depicts something people like, it will more than likely do better than that car. I love the DB5 as a car, but the Lego set just doesn’t look good enough. im very intrigued as to what this set will actually be. Will all those pieces really just be for the Byres house? Is it that iconic a place in the series to warrant it? But then again what else is there? The school? the lab? Those seem too big. Unless it’s some sort of half-our world, half-upside down type of set. also, will it be based on series 1, 2 or 3? I would say it’s likely 1, but does that mean we won’t get Max? Or billy? I literally have no idea what this set is gonna be
  20. I think the side build on the clocktower is supposed to represent one of the corner towers on the quad-building that the clocktower and great all are attached to. (The huge main tower is one of these corners too) on the actual model, the clocktower is separated from the structure with a small bridge/joining walkway, but I think they’ve just commenced the look here. I think if you mirror the side build you can attack one to both sides of the tower and it will look fairly accurate
  21. Apparently it is to be revealed the day before vip release. I reckon they don’t want to risk bad press for releasing an adult product before release. Announce and release same day for maximum purchases
  22. There’s a midnight set release event happening at the Leicester Square store May 15th, I reckon it might be this set
  23. Expecto Patronum - Fantastic set, the dementors and even the damn trees are great to get multiples of! Sirius’ hair is a great thing to multiples of too. Great value to this thing. The stag is amazing and even the shooting feature makes sense The First Task - the Hungarian horntail is mixed. The tail and wings are fine, but the legs are too chunky and the head is too small. All it needs is a bigger head really. The tent is atrocious, it’s just a weird block. the Knight Bus - a big blocky, and the windows should be shorter, but it seems the most accurate version and I’ve got way too much nostalgia for that thing to hate it hagrid’s hut - sucks that it’s not enclosed, but damn it’s nice. The minifigures are good and buckbeak is awesome. The details of the interior and the pumpkin patch are great. The Clocktower. Fantastic. Should be a tad wider, but exterior-wise is brilliant. The interior less-so. There’s a lot of squished features that don’t work. They should have focused on tiles rooms. The goblet looks awful, but the Yule-ball elements are quite nice. overall, solid wave. Certainly care more about the builds than the minifigures this year
  24. Hadn’t noticed the goblet. That’s awful! and yeah the separator is in some Lego Movie 2 sets
  25. Ha, I said hermione would be a printed brick but people said that was a stupid idea and they wouldn’t do that. they look alright. Love expecto, clock tower and hagrids hut. The knight bus looks a tad too blocky for me, and the horntail set just looks awful. The horntail has too small a head and too big legs, and that “tent” looks horrifically bad
