I'm quite confident that 6631 was the first proper LEGO set that was only mine. I have some vague memories of some Duplo, but I don't think that was mine alone, but shared with my older sisters. Or possibly handed down from them, not sure. And then the second set I got was this, 6820. After those it gets a bit more difficult, especially to place those sets which I can't place at a specific Christmas or birthday :-$ (or at some other special event, like that I got 6693 when we visited Legoland in 1988)

Hi and welcome to EB :-)

Hi and welcome :-) And since it's New Years Eve tomorrow, and I will be drinking good, single malt whisky from that wonderful island of Islay; Slaandjivaa!

Happy Birthday! :-)

Hey, I only said I'm not lifting a finger to help you, I'd gladly lift a whole hand for my favourite walrus *wub*

It's in the number range of Impulse sets, and the price matches the other Impulse sets there. So I'd say it's definitely an Impulse set :-). Don't think it's the big troll though, rather one of the orcs. Which is good too, orcs are cannon fodder, and as such there must be lots of them :-D

Hello and welcome to EB :-) ..and here there should be some relevant picture, but I was unable to find one. So I just threw in this LEGO compatible bull: :-D (yes, I know it's technically a cow, but it's got horns ;-) )

Nice review :-) Looks like an interesting set, though I fear the price in Norway will be too high. With the UK price being 2.5 GBP I wouldn't be surprised if the Norwegian price is 30 NOK, which in my opinion makes it just a tiny bit too expensive. On the other hand, 30 NOK is what I pay for a cup of good coffee, so it's not that bad ;-) One reason I see for not getting this is that the advent calendar included something almost identical (days 19,20 and 21), though there was no cart. Indeed. I really don't think satisfying the 800x600 crowd is necessary (they are few and far between these days), but aiming for a size that fits 1024x768 is a must. Personally I use my laptop a lot of the time, and it has 1024x768. And when posting pictures on EB it's important to remember that the user information box on the left takes up around 200 pixels. So I think something around 700 pixels wide is suitable for this forum, I see PSPguy used 692 pixels width for his pictures in the Police Helicopter Review, and those pictures are (in my opinion at least) just the right size. Also, doing some cropping of the pictures could be a good idea, several of the pictures in this review has lots of pointless gray nothingness. This way you can keep the level of detail, but still get decent sized images.

Man With No Name - Azymuth. Good MOCing music I think ;-)

..and UniqueBuilder is behind the hedge on the right, yoda is behind the rightmost window (in his underwear), Copmike is on the roof behind the chimney, and Ras was supposed to be behind the bushes on the left, but after getting his megabloks kicked by Iz he didn't dare to show his face.. :-D Oh, where was I.. ah, yes, welcome to EB Indy! :-D

I see an obvious solution: "What's the best new theme of 2007? (except Castle)" and "What's the best overall theme of 2007? (except Star Wars)" :-D

TLG sentenced by French Competition Council
Quarryman replied to xwingyoda's topic in General LEGO Discussion
..you can always trust the French to ruin the fun.. :-| If they broke the competition laws it must have been by having too low prices, which seems like something of a paradox considering our usual complaints about TLG's prices ;-) -
Best new theme: Castle And best overall theme: also Castle. (both City and Star Wars are close behind though..) ..but then I am a fantasy junkie ;-)

I got.. nothing. No LEGO that is. Just clothes and a little money.

Great work on this font oleth :-) (and now I see that it was you who posted good looking vector versions of miscellaneous LEGO logos too, which everyone should take a look at if they haven't already ;-) ) He said it in the last sentence of his post:

Hehe.. very nice :-D I sure know that feeling from my days in the army. (Things did improve a lot when we were transferred back to the Air Force ;-))
-
You can see what the Blue Beret looks like in this picture from Wikipedia. So you get one by being part of a UN peacekeeping force. ;-) I suppose you perhaps was talking about a LEGO beret, which I'm pretty sure doesn't exist :-( I really want one as well. But I'm enough of a purist not to want to deal with making berets myself.. As for the uniforms, my current plan is to use Naboo fighter pilot torsos, even though they are expensive :-( (guess I'll have to be satisfied with a rather small army..).

You're right, the base for the containers is this piece: , so the pallets will be able to slide around. On the other hand, I think it adds play value since it will be easier to use the forklift to take the cargo out of the containers when it's not stuck to the floor :-) And though I feel like it's been said a hundred times already, the forklift is pure beauty, I almost suspect that more time was spent on designing the forklift than on the rest of the set :-P

The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus #5
Quarryman replied to Hinckley's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Without a doubt the best episode so far *wub* Thought all the time that "it's going to end now, but it's been great", but it just kept going and going and going, most impressive :-D There's so many great moments in there that I'm having a hard time deciding upon a favourite. But cutlass_iz' appearances are, simply put, amazing :-D (especially since you included Cutlass_Amelie ;-) ) ..and on the subject of Sinner's bucket: :-P Too bad Bricklink seems to be completely sold out of tubas X-D (except for the complete sets that includes one that is. Which is more than the refrigerators, which aren't available at all :-( ) -
I must say.. what would the point of an official uniform be? The way I see it, an "official uniform of the EN" would kinda defeat the purpose of the EN, since making military MOCs can be just as much about making uniforms for your troops as building vehicles for them. :-)
-
If you had read through the thread (or even just skimmed it) you would have found both the price and the time of release. ;-)
-
Nice rank system, thanks a lot for taking the time with that one Dr. Sinister :-) ..and thanks to Hinckley and the rest of the admins/mods for having the patience to let Dr. Sinister&co work out a system and try to turn what looked like a first class spamfest into something positive and fun :-) and now, back to designing an MBT in mlcad ;-) (not sure if it's my fourth of fifth attempt at an MBT, I'm never satisfied and ends up starting over from scratch..)
-
and now there's a couple of extra pics available, one that shows how the windows are made, and one that shows the internal structure (and coincidentally why there won't be an interior ;-)) And btw, estimated costs are 15k-20k NOK (about 1800-2500 EUR) (just asked Matija)

Nice MOC, makes me want coffee. Which I luckily have next to me ;-) The espresso machine is lovely *wub* The entrance is a very interesting technique, same goes for the mug rack on the wall :-) And it seems Dr. Sinister is doing a lot of travelling these days, must be busy work to be Secretary General of the EN. Oh.. and here I thought Dr. Sinister was immoral. Easy mistake to make I guess.. :-P
