Mystery Castle - Game and Index
Quarryman replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Last spring term exam tomorrow, and after that I'm pretty much stuck in front of the computer for the coming months, so count me in -
Welcome to EB Sandy! Always good to see another AFOL return back from the dark ages And I completely agree about the current Castle sets, it's my favourite theme at the moment too Looking forward to seeing your MOCs and comic

How many former, current and future university students are here?
Quarryman replied to legotrainfan's topic in Community
Currently (and have been for a while ) studying computer science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (though "of Technology and Science" makes a better acronym ) in Trondheim. -
German Mark VII Tank (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade)
Quarryman replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice tank, you've captured the impression of the movie tank (which probably shouldn't be called a "German Mark VII", but that's irrelevant nitpicking ) very well. It does seem to suffer from "LEGO tank syndrome" though, that is, it's too high. At least that's my opinion. Also, it wouldn't hurt if it was longer. But all things considered, well done! -
(see.. you're not even old ) I hope your day has at least as much LEGO in it as mine has had

So, today there's a "50% off on all LEGO" sale in one of the largest toy store chains here (BR), which means prices that in general match US regular prices After raiding the three BRs in downtown Trondheim I got away with: 3 626 4 628 1 4996 1 5584 3 5610 2 5611 2 5612 2 5613 2 5614 8 5615 1 5616 1 7009 1 7029 1 7036 1 7037 1 7041 3 7090 3 7583 1 7733 1 7890 1 8159 For a grand total of 43 sets, of which 20 are Impulse sets. .. I'm not sure I really want to know how much it cost in total Update: so, after getting online after that raid we received new orders from Supreme Command (that is, aj-ml, I was raiding with her husband ) so we visited the other three BRs in town. Which led to: 2 4837 1 7048 1 7992 Also, we have emptied all of the BRs for LBG 48x48 baseplates and 32x32 green baseplates. What a day

RP - Ferner (from the demo Ferner by Still (though it finished while writing this), so right now it's Yoko Kanno - Home Stay (the opening theme from Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex)

Not sure what you mean about the second one, do you want in the TransClear colour? (that Peeron calls "Clear") If so you're out of luck, it doesn't exist as far as I can tell. Otherwise, all of them seems easily available from Bricklink.

If I had the choice I would go for a pure MOC approach, which is what we in general did for our layout at Legoworld Oslo a month ago. I just feel that MOCs are more fun to display than sets. On the other hand, I probably will include Cafe Corner and its siblings in a proper layout once I a) have them b) have the room for a layout Still, for voting purposes I had to go with only MOCs, as I don't feel a mostly pure MOC layout with maybe two or three sets to be a "mixture"

Yes, Towel Day on a Sunday wasn't nearly as much fun as on a Friday (last year we were quite a few people carrying towels around campus on Towel Day. This year I only met one who did. (but several of my friends were ashamed because they forgot Towel Day, that at least amounts to something. One of them got order number 42 when we went to have dinner.. lucky bastard ) Oh well, next year it will be on a Monday, so that should be better

Greetings from the southern part of Norway
Quarryman replied to Matija's topic in Hello! My name is...
Velkommen matija! Good to see you here too (your theater has been here for a while already.. ) It's all part of our evil plan you see.. when we bring more Norwegians you have to bring more Swedes, and then we have to bring even more Norwegians, and soon the vikings will have completely taken over (or something like that ) -
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I'll be nice, no spoilers. (at least I'll try ) So, there it was, and it was good. Certainly better than Temple of Doom, but not as good as Raiders and Last Crusade. But still, very good. I was satisfied with all the actors, was a bit worried before about how well Cate Blanchett would work as a Russian, but she was great. And I really liked seeing a female badguy, that was really nice Also, Russians as badguys worked fine, no need for nazis. Harrison Ford is old though, it was very obvious. However, I wasn't disappointed, perhaps even a tiny bit impressed And finally, one thing I'm curious about if anyone has seen: Any reference to THX 1138? (I certainly didn't notice any.. )

It's this piece. From the very old minifigs which didn't have posable legs.

Slowly getting in that mood myself, planning to do a Indy marathon with a couple of friends on Wednesday before going to the cinema to see number 4 Indy on!

LEGO AGENTS - Mission 1: Jetpack Pursuit
Quarryman replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yay! That's really good news (now I really have to reconsider.. argh. ) -
Nice work, looks very promising. What really annoys me about it though, is the dark blue columns on the porch, like Hinckley I think white columns would match a lot better. As it is now the columns kinda ruins the "visual impression". And as I said on IRC, (#brikkelauget on IRCnet for those who care ) I think it could be a tiny bit bigger, so you get room for more details.

LEGO AGENTS - Mission 1: Jetpack Pursuit
Quarryman replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice review, thanks (actually made me question my earlier decision not to buy this theme.. but time will tell ) Anyway, one (important, I think) question: Is the robot arm symmetrical? (i.e. can it be used on both sides of the minifig, or is it like the regular MF arms and thus only usable on the right side?) If it is symmetrical it could be very useful I think -
Current one on the laptop a cropped down version of this StarCraft II concept art picture.

Happy birthday all of you

Wow! Just wow! Made me wonder if making a LEGO bagpipe is possible without sculpting it.. (me? mad? nooooo ) I could hear them too (probably caused in part by the fact that tomorrow is the Norwegian National Day, and then there will be lots of marching bands torturing usplaying. ..and the shrooms? Bah, you don't need any shrooms, anyone knows that

Went looking for Indy sets today (did the same yesterday, but that was downtown), tried TRU and one other shop, but none of them had any Unless I'm mistaken I only have one shop left to try to get Indy before the 4th movie comes out. I'm weird enough to want to bring an Indy minifig with me to the cinema Anyway, since I couldn't find any Indy I instead bought: 1 5610 1 5612 1 5616 1 7038 and 1 7040 The trip ended up being a bit more expensive than originally planned

Happy Birthday!
