Happy birthday!
-
Just received my 10186 from the fast building competition at Legoworld Oslo
-
Velkommen til EB andy! No no, there are no evil plans here. Move along.
-
Somewhat off-topic (and possibly answered already elsewhere... if so I apologize for being lazy ) Hinckley: what font did you use for the usernames in the thumbs? (and in the current rank icons)
-
This left me speechless, well done! I've been considering building a moon base module or two myself for some time.. maybe this is the kick/inspiration I need to get started And don't worry about the "illegal" techniques, we all use them at one time or another
-
I voted for James Markham, his entry looks very elvish, and I liked the colour scheme. Very nice MOC
-
Velkommen! Godt å se flere nordmenn her
-
This was really great, pretty much made my day I'd love to see detail shots of the different models in this scenario.
-
But you don't have pictures to prove that

In the future we can have an event in Dubai!
Quarryman replied to Morten's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Very interesting, I should be able to afford a trip to Dubai by 2011. Dubai On? -
So, now it's for most purposes over, and it's been GREAT! I'm writing this in our cabin at the camp site, have to go over to a couple of other cabins to say good bye and "auf wiedersehen" before it's too late. Being allowed to use the building competition tables for PaB for free afterwards was really nice, see the "what did you buy today" topic for a more in depth writeup about that. And one of the really, really great things to hear afterwards: something like 96% of those who answered TLC's survey about Legoworld Oslo wrote that our layout was the best thing to see there. If that's not motivation to continue doing stuff like that I don't know what is. Indeed! Meeting you guys was really great, I'm looking forward to meeting you again some time That of course goes for everyone here who was at Legoworld Oslo, I think I'm now beginning to understand just how much being an AFOL actually means to me (and getting more and more sure that I don't want kids.. ), and the reason is primarily the people I've met. And I'm really looking forward to beating you guys in speedbuilding again, loved that

Not exactly bought, but after Legoworld Oslo was finished we were allowed to fill (with "fill" being "to it overflows" ) one large PaB-bag each from all the building competition tables in the hall for free Lots of old parts, special colours, tons of minifig parts, etc. Picked up quite a few goblin heads from the Gringott's set, horses (even a few with Indian decorations from the Western theme), bicycles, and what not. Really nice way of saying "thank you" from LEGO I think I really hope some pictures from the picking find their way online, one of the common comments was "What would the children have said if they could see us now?"
-
As an impartial witness I can confirm that there will indeed be really cool stuff up for grabs (oh how I wish that I could be there too.. stupid exams )
-
Details in the Legoworld Oslo topic; short version: fast-building competition of Grievous here at Legoworld Oslo, three persons on each team, we won, and got one each.
-
Trying to piece together some kind of roof for Studentersamfundet i Trondhjem, which is currently on display at Brikkelauget's layout at Legoworld Oslo. Guess Samfundet can be considered the "current major project", it's far from finished.
-
And he's a fun build, even though we were a bit stressed (see the Legoworld Oslo topic in the "Other Events" forum) Not too fond of PT in general though, so I would probably never have bought this. But getting it for free is quite okay
-
And as you have found it now (after a tip from me ) I expect to see your entry ASAP. (not that I haven't already, but you get the point )
-
Bah, that probably happened when we carried it in triumph through the hall. (or you did it during the party last night, wouldn't surprise me ) Let's do a rematch next year, eh?
-
Actually, to quote copmike: "I have to be in the gay parade!". I'm happy aj-ml let us put all the EB figs on the front row (and that we could steal borrow the Han Solo torso from the Millenium Falcon And the cake is this one.
-
Yes, that one was a major inspiration for aj-ml to make this one. with a cake! (thanks to DNL for providing that one!)
-
Couldn't find one for you.. but I am touching your megablocks in the parade though not everyone are ready for such things though: (photo courtesy of freddie)

As we're going to spend four days (the second day is just over) here at Legoworld Oslo we of course have to do some minor modifications to our layout . So yesterday we had a Labour Day parade, and today there was a gay parade. Most minifigs provided by aj-ml, some by UniqueBuilder, and a few by others. And I think some of the minifigs can be easily recognized ;-)

Just a quick update, without any pictures I'm afraid. Earlier today there was a fast-build competition here at Legoworld Oslo, with a Norwegian team against a Swedish team (Norway vs Sweden is quite a big thing for us norwegians, in every way possible ) Any way, on the Norwegian there was me, and two other guys from Brikkelauget (UniqueBuilder didn't dare to compete ), and on the Swedish team there was copmike, Ras 74 and a friend of theirs from Gothenburg. Now, the set we were going to build was the General Grievous UCS, 1085 pieces, lots of nastyness with pieces not hanging by much.. Of course, no one on the Norwegian team are collectors of SW LEGO, and hadn't tried fast-building before, quite a challenge And for almost the whole time while we sat there, on stage, with spotlights and a commentator, I thought the swedes were going to win, but they didn't, we did 1 hour 13 minutes and some seconds, barely beating the swedes, not many seconds ahead. Don't think it's a good time, but considering that it was the first time any of us did something like it, I'm quite satisfied. And we each got a 10186, which I think is quite cool There will probably be some more postings from Legoworld Oslo later today, with pictures too, just got copmike's memory card to transfer them to my laptop.

So, a rather new pic of me, taken yesterday, while I was trying to put together our "somewhat large" MOC of Samfundet in Trondheim. (yes, I'm sitting in a MOC, beat that )
-
Happy belated birthday! (as you can see Sinner, you're not the only one that missed it )
