What game are we playing at the moment?
Quarryman replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Still playing Half-Life 2 Episode 2. Must get all achievements.. (which is a bit hard, especially squishing very single antlion grub in the whole game.. ;-)) -
Armin van Buuren - A State of Trance episode 252 *wub* (to be more exact, the second hour, containing the classics mix from episode 250 without voice overs)

What book are you reading right now?
Quarryman replied to Norrington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Nooooo.. don't remind me that I should be studying for midterms :-P (have a test in "Performance Engineering" (in the computer science context) on Friday :-/ ) -
What book are you reading right now?
Quarryman replied to Norrington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
"The Lord of Castle Black" by Steven Brust, which is part two of the trilogy "The Viscount of Adrilankha", which in turn is the third book of the Khaavren Romances, which is a homage to Alexandre Dumas, and thus written in a style that resembles Dumas' style. Apart from that I'm also somewhere in the middle of "The Difference Engine" by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling, but I haven't read much in that lately.. and somewhere in "The day of the dragon" by Richard Knaak, but that is even longer since I opened. *sigh* -
Hello and welcome :-) I really like your Sea Maiden-MOC *wub*, hope you'll enjoy your stay here :-)

Let's see.. since all of my computers are set up to hide all GUI elements (menus, icons, taskbar, etc) all I usually see without programs running is the wallpaper, so I'll just post scaled down versions of them) Sobekneferu: (laptop, 1024x768, take it pretty much everywhere) Serket: (workstation at home, 1920x1200) Hatshepsut: (old laptop, 1400x1050, now sits at home pretending to be a web server, use it for testing) My other four computers (of which only one (Pachet) is actually used daily, one (Seshat) used occasionally to free up storage on the others, one (Tenenit) used on special occasions, and one (Nephthys) just collecting dust ;-)) don't have GUIs (or monitors), so screenshots from them are pretty pointless. ;-) ..and just to have a desktop here that actually has some stuff on it too I added a screenshot from Sobekneferu, showing the very inactive #eurobricks :-P (totally unofficial IRC channel, on Quakenet if anyone cares) in Irssi. (which happens to run on Pachet)

Indeed worthy, thanks for posting this :-) Lots of nice details, like the skeleton trapped under a boulder, the conveyor belt for the barrels, terrified slaves, lovely *wub*

Yeah, a drink sounds like a good plan, all this lynching talk has made me thirsty.
-
Yes yes, I'm hereby confirmed. Now, let's hang someone. ;-)

And Wikipedia seems to agree :-)

Welcome to EB mikey! :-) Any more information for us? Age, location, that sort of stuff? Classic Space isn't bad at all though, better than most themes I'd say ;-)

50th Anniversary of the 4x2 Lego Brick celebration
Quarryman replied to Siegfried's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Very cool that Google also likes LEGO :-D As for why it's today: (quick translation from the Danish text at http://www.lego.com/dan/info/default.asp?p...=&archive=false. Couldn't find it in English, I'm sure it's somewhere on lego.com ;-)) -
To be very exact, what got me back into LEGO after my Dark Ages was this: Not quite sure when I first saw it, some time in spring 2004. It was a Sunday though, a very exciting Sunday where I found LUGnet, Brickshelf and Eric Harshbarger's portfolio (to mention a few important ones). This was during some pretty nasty flame wars over the colour change, a weird time to return. ;-)

Personally I'm crossing my fingers for an Elvish faction, that would be great :-D Not sure about what a possible new evil faction could be though.. we've already seen the "obvious" ones, undead and orcs/trolls. This is of course assuming there will be new factions on both sides. But we'll see, anyway this is good news :-)

Watched Arn - Tempelriddaren (Swedish movie, based on books by Jan Guillou). It was quite decent, a bit too long though, felt like it was building up to a climax that never came. Worth watching, but I hope the next one is either shorter or has more action ;-)

Western Mafia Game - Sign Up Thread
Quarryman replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh, this sounds like fun :-) I'd love to take part in it :-) (will probably get killed the first day though.. ;-)) -
Hello and welcome to EB! :-)

Happy birthday! Hope it's a good one!

Happy Birthday! - from the northernmost viking outpost, with polar bears roaming the streets and all that ;-) Hope it's a good one! :-)
-
Looking good.. :-) (according to my calculations it's 307.2cm x 102.4cm.. wish I had room for something that big :-/)
-
Not your best, but quite funny :-) And the size is fine ;-)
-
Wow.. *wub* Is there some kind of story involved too? (name, mission, etc?) Since nobody else has asked about it: what are the (estimated?) dimensions of this SHIP? Length/width? (I assume you're not sure yet about the number of bricks ;-) ) ..and I don't even want to think about how much this project's going to cost you ;-)

Happy New Year everyone! (even though the new year is still several hours away here, but like most others, I won't be at a computer at midnight.) Slaandjivaa! :-D
