What a marvelous vessel! The Sea Wolf is such an appropriate name for it, and the color choice is lovely. Would LOVE to see this made in physical bricks.

I love large display areas like this! Totally awesome stuff right here.

Orange eyes you say? A Chrome silver TC-14 would rock, although that's only because I never got a chrome C3-PO...

Love how the speeder turned out. Pretty slick stuff right there.

Great attention to detail and very accurate!

I really like the sand green look, but having the monster be an 'olive green' color would make him more unique from his Collectible Minifigure counterpart.

From personal experience, I still consider the Chinese plastic to be less durable. Even if it is ABS, there is often an interesting quality difference when you compare a Chinese torso to a normal one. I appreciate your comments about my 'misconceptions' although I've always known that the Chinese plastic was ABS. I prefer to call it Chinese plastic however, so it is understood what type of 'quality' is being discussed. Forgive me if it seemed that I thought it was an entirely different plastic altogether. My main purpose in starting this topic was to see if a non-Chinese Davy Jones existed. I didn't mean his hat, claw, or beard. I understand that they are most likely Chinese. That wasn't as much of an issue to me as the head, torso, and legs. I wish they could've been normal quality, although the fact that the claw is hooked to the torso explains why the entire minifigure is Chinese. I just would've liked to have the classic quality head, torso, and legs that I'm used to finding in sets on my Davy Jones minifigure. That is all.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 7 poll
Walter replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I know he's not the most detailed, or the most interesting, or even the one with the most playability, but I love the nerd/teacher guy. He's just awesome! And I am just a little tired of collecting the minifigs, but I'm happy we have them. -
I looked around using search in case there was a topic on this already, but I couldn't find anything. I'm not sure if this would belong in the PoTC theme thread or not. My Davy Jones minifigure from The Black Pearl has an unusual quality to him. Upon inspecting him closer I see that he is indeed made up of the cheaper, less durable, Chinese plastic. He came in his own 'sealed' bag, unlike all the other minifigures in the set. So my question is, does anyone who owns a Davy Jones minifigure have a non-Chinese plastic version of him. Do you have the same cheaper plastic version that I have? Do normal quality versions of him even exist? What's this cheap plastic doing infiltrating our beloved Lego sets! I contacted Lego about the problem but I haven't gotten a response. I'd love your opinions on this. Thanks! -Walt

The Butcher's Deli by Walter Boy, on Flickr Minifigure: The Butcher Theme: Town..? Here's my scene of a deli. I figured I'd do it before anyone else did! I really like scenes with food. -
Great vignette! You've captured the scene perfectly! I've been working on Watto's Junkyard for awhile now, and this gives me the motivation to keep going. Very cool stuff here.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Walter replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I just hate to see this theme put down so soon. I loved Pirates II, and I was so upset when they stopped it after one(?) wave. I hate to see them do it again with this. Both themes had so much potential! it's such a shame really. Oh well, maybe I can find some PoTC on clearance somewhere. I still have a lot of them to collect. -
I like that. I really like that.

Some nice ideas are possible for AoTC sets. I just hope we get a Padme minifigure!

Love the new banners for this month. And nice photoshop work on the last one.

Thanks so much for the kind comments. (And blog post!) I had a good deal of fun with this one. I wish I could've built an interior, but there was just not enough room to satisfy me. Perhaps a vignette in the future? In the sequence when they travel to the shack by boat, one of the extras traveling with them has an afro. I always remember him from the scene later when he gets grabbed by the Kraken and dragged into the ocean. I suppose you could say that it's his 2-3 seconds of glory.

Minifigures Series 8 Guessing Game
Walter replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'll throw a couple out there! I haven't read the previous posts, so some of you may have already thought of these. Maybe a salty old sea captain, that'd be pretty cool, right? Some kind of old styled Swiss mountain climber! Complete with gear. I'd love to see that. A french man with a loaf of bread... An affordable and easier way to get a bread piece. Maybe a fairy too! Some form of fairy would rock, and it wouldn't cut into the LoTR theme because there's not really any fairies in there. She'd probably be minifigure scale, but I'm fine with that. There's just a couple ideas from me. Hope we get some of them eventually! -
Very cool! Reminds me of something you'd see at one of LegoLand's Miniland area. I can image a Pirate display with cannons coming out of the ship.

[pid][/pid] 206D So here it is, my first movie Pirates of The Caribbean scene in Lego! Tia Dalma's Shack by Walter Boy, on Flickr "No worries! Tia Dalma and I go way back... thick as thieves, nigh inseparable we are... were... have been... before..." "I'll watch yer back." "It's me front I'm worried about." -Jack and Gibbs I've always loved Tia Dalma's shack from Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It was no doubt inspired by the shacks seen on the classic Disneyland attraction in California. I always found wooden shacks interesting, so it was no suprise to me that I'd make this scene sooner or later. I was also greatly inspired by _Matn's version of this scene. When I saw his depiction I knew this would be a fun scene to build. It was one of the many cool things from the film. I will (hopefully) be adding one or two new photos of this creation soon too. There's some interesting angles I haven't covered yet.

Very impressive! It'd be cool if you built it for real and added in some photoshopped 'special effects' of it turned on! A nice contribution to the community build.

From what I've seen of all your builds, I think this is one of your best! It's a wonderful contribution to the community build. -
I love my Black Pearl! However I'd love a Queen Anne's Revenge too.
