  1. Ah, this set always brings back sad memories for me as it's the set that first caused me to question whether or not I was becoming too old for Lego, and eventually resulted in my dark age, which I only emerged from a year ago. I was hugely fond of the Crusaders and Black Knights, slightly less so of the Black Falcons, and this set just did everything wrong compared to those sets for me. The baseplate was a cop out in my mind, and I was particularly upset with the 1-brick tall wall on the side with the treasure hatch. I didn't like the crossbows as a means of defense, either, or the big wooden doors. Where was my portcullis? Looking back at it now, I think I shortchanged it a little bit. By today's standards, the minifigs are excellent and the play features are quite a bit of fun. It's funny to think I was upset with the crossbow defense and would've preferred a small catapult given how catapult crazy Lego is nowadays. Personally, I'd rather have another archer than the two silly little catapults on the most recent Lion Knight's castle. The little trap door is cool, too. I certainly can't begrudge anyone from liking this set. Still, I can't help but look at this set and think of what a downgrade it was compared to what had come before and what I was used to. BTW, did anyone else assume the ghost was the king who had died?
  2. I think a clock tower would be cool or an open square with little cafe's along the edge of it. You could even have events, like a traveling circus or Shakespeare festival come and visit your town on occasion. Alternatively, you could have some sort of glowing space rock that crash landed there and mysteriously draws all your citizens.
  3. Thanks to you both. I felt like I took some calculated risks that paid off for town. I really had a hard time figuring out who had what actions and I really need to get better at analyzing peoples behavior. It frustrated me that I never had any idea that ADHO and WhiteFang were action townies, but I wasn't as much in the loop on things as some of the other virgins. I certainly felt like a noob at times, but it left me feeling like I can be quite a bit better next time and glad that I had a positive contribution. I was really impressed with the level of play from both teams, but moreso the goodwill expressed as people were sent to the afterlife.
  4. Yes, that was me. I had gotten to the point where I knew it was a ploy to get a rise out of people and also just largely for your own entertainment. That said, I learned a fair amount from watching you and some of the other more experienced players in this game. It's quite a bit different to be watching a game and to be playing in one. Emotions and suspicions run higher because you have an actual stake in the game. The only other game I've watched closely while it was happening was Gotham and while some of the tactics used were similar in this game, my reaction to it all was very different. Oh, I actually read it as a way to try to protect me. At first I assumed it meant that you weren't sure if you trusted Kiel, but later on I used that communication as a way to try to get on the same page with Kiel (I think this was the day after Hinck died). By day 4, Flitwick had verified you and me as virgins, and Tammo as not-virgin, so at that point, the only person alive that I trusted fully was Flitwick. I had taken a calculated risk in talking to you, but had been pretty coy with Hinck even though I thought he was likely safe. The whole Tammo virgin sting operation made me think he was trustworthy, too. I did try pretty hard to bring townies back together after Hinck died, but without a power role, I wasn't really able to get anywhere. I was most amused that you guys though I was the investigator because the night before I was killed, I had asked both you and Tammo if either of YOU were the investigator. At any rate, I'm quite glad my death was most unhelpful due to the impeccable timing of the cherrinator.
  5. I had no idea the cultists thought I was the investigator until I was dead. I didn't know the cherrinator role until just before it, either, although I had asked Pandufus about if there was a way to lose/gain virginity early on and they refused to say anything. I'm guessing that Hinck convinced you guys I was the investigator, but I also know that he told Foog I was a virgin at some point and then tried to pretend it was a mistake.
  6. Superb ending to a superb game. Thanks for letting me play and to all who participated. I really enjoyed Tammo's insistence of innocence on the final day.
  7. 4. Dix - 3 24. sdrnet - 2
  8. No one seemed to have any problem with Ms. Balls...
  9. I did! Boo to scum for killing me!
  10. The thought did cross my mind. I was carrying a bucket!
  11. Here's the win condition as posted by our gracious hosts at the start of day 2: It's pretty clear that Virgin is a type of Innocent, and not knowing this seems pretty critical to the concept of the camp. We're all innocents regardless of whether or not we're a virgin. That said, I might have been willing to overlook this offense and listen to your argument a little more if you hadn't responded so strangely to Mr. Fitzpatrick's accusation. Why is the first thing you try to do is make the person who's outing you look like he's insane and suggesting he's a cultist? Not everyone who accuses someone is a cultist, but a true innocent would be trying to understand how an investigator could come up with an incorrect result rather than immediately assuming the worst. If the investigator got a not-innocent result on you, and you really are an innocent, shouldn't there be a logical explanation for how that would have occurred? There are blockers and trackers and mirror cloaks and all sorts of odd things here. The best response you can come up with is that Mr. Fitzpatrick must be a cultist? Until I hear something to convince me otherwise, I will Vote: Hans Gubernaculum (Bob)
  12. I'm curious about this statement, as while Hans was being questioned earlier today, Johnson wasn't. Has someone attempted to make a case against Mr. Cox that I missed? I know that a few of the people on Gordon's list of non-claimers are most certainly cleared by now, but I haven't heard anything one way or another about either of these two people being among them. I think the relative lack of conversation here is noteworthy today, but I'm also reluctant to vote unless we have some strong evidence.
  13. Betty being a cultist is good news. Losing Mehmet is most definitely not. For whatever reason, Mehmet didn't trust Nadir and I fear that we've used our vig kill for the wrong purposes as a result. It's also fairly worrisome that the mirror cloak did not work. It seems there are two possible reasons for this: 1. The mirror cloak protector was blocked by the cultists 2. The cultist have a capability to bypass protection If they can bypass protection, I certainly hope they can only do it the one time. If they blocked our mirror cloak protector, that also means one of two things: The protector was Mehmet himself, using the cloak on himself OR the protector is still alive, but now the cultists know who he is. I'd like to encourage townies to get the conversation going. The last few days have been easier to just follow Mehmet's lead, but now we've got to step up and talk about what oddities we've seen at night.
  14. Everyone bumping this thread made me think the day thread was up already as I could only see the first part of the thread title on the main forum listing. Curse you all!
  15. Ooh... I have my first title! Vote: Officemate (Scum) - I got this after commenting that I have a coworker who never seems to add anything to email conversation and therefore is most likely scum. No idea who gave it to me, though.
  16. I, for one, am enjoying the plays. Vote: Betty Swallocks (TinyPiesRUs)
  17. It sounds to me like Betty is simply trying to find someone else to cast suspicion on who hasn't yet been proven. Taking a swing at Roger, who has not wanted to share his results publicly is a good gamble. He's been called out a few times in each of the past few days for not having revealed who he confirmed. However, it sounds like Mehmet now has enough evidence to trust Roger. So really, this is just a question of who do we trust more: Mehmet or Betty. I don't see any reason not to lean towards Mehmet as being the more trustworthy of the two at this point.
  18. Well... a cultist down, and no more virgins killed. If Mehmet's suggestion that we're pretty close to weeding out the remaining cultists, then perhaps losing a watcher is one of the lesser evils that could have befallen us last night.
  19. I've decided I have a coworker in my office who is scum. She's often replying to email threads with absolutely nothing useful to say other than "I agree with so-and-so!" or "Thanks!". I wonder when they'll open up the voting.
  20. Quickly? There were 27 hours left in the day when you voted. More than enough time for people to adjust their votes to Freud if it was someone different. Sorry... looks like I mixed up my times... still more than 12 hours.
  21. To be more accurate, Mehmet went out of his way to imply that the Freud play was about a different person. Vote: Mustafa Nidia (Brickdoctor)
  22. Betty is an interesting person to ask about as she was one of two people who did not vote yesterday. The other person was Ishaq, who only conrtibuted once to the day 2 conversation, and that was to discuss possible ways the mirror cloak could have resulted in an odd tracker result.
  23. Hmm... losing Mr. Fitzwilliam is not good, but at least we nabbed our first cultist. IMHOTEP didn't seem too happy about that, I must say. Mehmet had 13 people on his list yesterday who had been in communication with him. We lost a virgin, but we should have a fair amount more actual evidence to go on today. I would expect those people to be in touch again today so that we can put things together as the day goes along. Many of them had claimed a role of some sort so there should be a fair amount of new information to digest along with this fascinating conversation about Nadir.
  24. I strongly doubt any of the Virgins have a night action, even as a one-shot deal. If you look back at the win conditions Is and Ossie gave us at the start of this day, you can see there that it states in the Virgin win condition that they have no night action. I trust the authenticity of the wording of those win conditions (aside from the parts left out to protect those roles), because mine is word for word what I was told at the beginning of this expedition. I trust Is and Ossie not to post a blanket statement like that about the Virgins if it's not true for all of them.
  25. I suppose there is still a possibility that Ms. Stools isn't a cultist, but it seems incredibly small at this point. Unvote: Jennifer Taylor (Sandy) Vote: Melaena Stools (CallMePieOrDie)
