I hate Brick hulls and I agree, the fact that at least half the ship is using legit hull pieces means that it can be possible to literally remove the canon play feature and add real lego shooting cannons! IMHO that's all the set needs. In another foot note one could argue that it technically wasn't Jack Sparrows ship with the minifigs we see, but Barbossa's. Therefore, we would be missing a ton of crew from the Black Pearl. Granted jack "was" a captain but he wasn't captain again after the first movie. Disney once again proves how little they know their franchises.

I’m actually shocked people here had problems with it’s stability, It never wobbled with me for the longest time, even with toddlers tripping over it’s furniture LOL.

Lego might be lazy and use the version of the minifig without his hat like they did in the Silent Mary. Barbossa in the fourth movie is wearing a privateers uniform without the hat for most of the movie, he dons the pirate uniform at the end and dead men tell no tales. Nothing surprises me anymore tbh. I had the QaR and honestly to get an accurate version will be impossible, the captain's quarters is just too big Imho, plus the intricated skulls all over will be something beautiful to behold if they manage to pull it off. PS speaking of which, having the old POTC is becoming a burden more than a hobby now, that same Jack Sparrow minifig is at the verge of breaking, the reddish-brown pants began to get tight, any more walking poses and it's over for poor jack. Sets I can replace, minifigs, it's iffy, I literally applied wd-40 to avert the inevitable but museum poses it is for now.

Hehe, We wanted the Jedi Survivor Mantis crew and ship with Cal and they said no way because of the game lol. In all reality the existence of Cal is a slap on the face because it feels like they can do it but don't want to. Lego online deliveries has been slacking, they still haven't shipped out my burger set, to be honest they tied me down with the backlog of lego rewards codes I have to use lol.

They said in the past they wouldn't include stuff that deals with murder and yet we have gotten Cal kestis and Sideshow bob as figures, both controversial figures in their own right tbh

I'm not taking said chances, they have been a hit or a miss with releases, but you are right I should wait until then to see if they sell them on PaB or going in on this set around that time.

I'm only getting the vending machine for the minifigures and will probably sell the vending machine on it's own, i'm that desperate hehe.

Anyone gotten a "ontrac" shipment notification from Lego? Got an order in on the 7th of may and was marked as shipped but the website is not tracking anything was sent at all yet?

I did get carried away, I like to keep my MODS as close to the original bricks used in the set as possible and overdid it with the white bricks! I was aiming to do the best possible with the governors office but it’s kind of a funny angle I have to get used to. I was inspired by extending as someone posted here, but I wanted to extended them an extra brick’s height, that was the easy part, I was stumped in the back of the office, but you are right I could make the walls taller! I regret not getting a second set, now I’m stuck PaB the missing grey and black bricks for enhancing them a bit! It’s never a dull day to be honest, check this out: Can you spot the changes? The governor needs to see better! He’s happy the feather fits inside the room: Side window that when combined with the opened set, he can “walk over” the other balcony: I have extra bricks to extend the first floor’s design, but it still feels off I think!

Pick a Brick took forever to deliver my bricks but it’s funny because I know I ordered a bunch of white and yellow bricks from this set, but I have no idea what I was trying to do, now I’m stuck on trying to figure out my original plan for this I think!

I was piggybacking on what was said about the Shire being a disappointment for the price per bricks and final set, since it;s close to 200 bucks I guess that’s what he meant. It was never released, but the next ship in the series was going to be the Flying Dutchman back in 2013, it was on a d2C list and it was said the brick count was close to 2000 pieces. Everyone thought it was going to be out for sure but the leaks back then pointed towards the pirates 2015 sets Btw did any play the Potc Lego game? They had some pretty good sweet designs for other ships in the franchise!! Not to mention an idea of what the full sized black pearl would had looked like I think, this ship really needs the torn sails 😍

So from the rumored 400 bucks down to the 200 bucks? It’s still not a bad deal imho. The original one sold for like $100 bucks and $200 will put it close to barracuda bay sized I hope. They can pull it off. I remembered the Flying Dutchman rumored for 2013 was supposed to be close to $200 also! They can do it if they use the molds for the hull, if it’s brick built it’s game over

I was trying to make this a door for this GWP, would window lattices or shutters look better on this? I meant to emphasize that remakes of licensed sets are the exemption. When it comes to Pirates, Castle and Space, they have done the bare minimum when it comes to figures and other prints, for example majisto workshop, el dorado fortress and the lack of printing on figures. I for one wish they used printed bases again and build off from there, I dislike it when they add brick count for bases versus starting off fresh. However the black pearl in it’s original lego form wasn’t that accurate to the actual ship, they left out a lot details especially around the cabin/wheel mast area. For 89.99 bucks it retailed for when it came out, it was golden, I just hope they use the similar hulls and build method used in the Black seas barracuda bay remake, we shall see, we were expecting another one when dead men tell no tales, but between this and the new Death Star, I’m holding out hope for lego, I’m low key tired of dealing with brick issues like breaking pieces and discolored bricks lol. I cannot miss this set for the GWP for sure!

I honestly just keep a decent amount of stormtroopers in my collection throughout the years, this last redesign completely flew over me this time 🤣

There’s a market for each Lego set, considering yours has the only Davy Jones minifigure, it will for sure still hold its own value. i personally regret selling my QaR and Black Pearl. I got them for retail and seeing the values triple on the min figures makes it difficult to re purchase them at a reasonable price. Lego remakes never hold a candle to the original ones, but you can still sell yours and still make a decent profit.

We had like three versions of hogwarts castle already! The biggest head scratcher imho was the last modular one. Heavily focused on rooms only!

I feel weird about splitting up my beastmasters, I have different faces for them, which is why I kind of want to buy them separately! I have gotten ahold of 6 that I'm keeping for my diversified medieval market It came first with an Obi Wan set in brown, then black in a few newer sets featuring sith lords, I"ve been on the lookout for ever since but it validifies my notion that it hasn't been available in black and brown on PaB yet!!! For one, I want to update the hoods on a few ollder star wars characters and of course the nazgul for sure. It makes no sense for it to be tied to a license, there has to be another reason, i've been on the lookout for this piece, but I've been buying full sets to get rid of the old ones, some newer sets still have the older hoods though, it's like black and brown capes all of a sudden.

When did lego become so anti using molds? I'm not going to lie but I miss the molded bases we got on the old sets and ship hulls. I hope it's done in style similar to the Black seas barracuda proportions in terms of a single deck. It's LEGO, they can convert and make room for anything and everything.

I bought the Medieval Market when it first came out, the problem is I still haven't build it. I went through the bags to get the minifigures out and pose them in my collection but have yet so far mustered the courage to build it. It's because I also have to dig the Lion Knights castle from storage for it pose them together. I spent all this money on also purchasing PaB medieval market figures on the side for variety, got two goat herders from series 26 minifigures and 6 wolfpack beastmaster just for this market, I need to really build it. BTW has anyone bought the brick built Dragon? how do ya'll feel about it? In all reality the with animal molds being expensive, It's not surprising to see the move towards the brick horse build. It's primarily the reason I dislike the 3in1 sets due to the lack of minifigures and the entire focus on 1x1 bricks. Oh well.
