It’s a solid 35 pounds when assembled. Carrying it around is not a joke. The build is like dioramas stacked on top but if you pick it up wrong it will come apart. Some parts are flimsy, like the dish is frail and will fall apart when putting it together. The space backdrop looks out place and I removed it, I’m glad lego made it easy to pop it out. I upgraded all my minifigs to the modern setups that should had been included in the set. I also swapped the gender of the majority of the staff. I found Galen’s Eros lower torso in green/black and just waiting on that. It’s a plus that the mini falcon build fits perfectly in the bay, but I loved the imperial shuttle in the same format. I’m still feeling the price, but it sold out locally in San Antonio and Austin already. The figures was the main factor I got this set.

They had like 20 bags with the boxed up Death Star, only a few people including myself bought it. Others were rushing for the Gingy AT-At and other sets. i did notice many wanted to see it in person like you mentioned but the price was a factor for them. They were a few fans rolling out dollies with two and three sets then bragging about it on a vlog. I don’t know if anyone’s Lego store offers the massive yellow bag, but consider bringing something to help, the Death Star set weighs a whopping 35 pounds, I thought it was a good idea to park far also 🤣🤣 plus I had other sets I wasn’t trying to get crushed at the same time

It’s kind of funny because everyone here was also complaining about the black pearls expensive price, yet my local store had a sizeable line when it came out, next thing you know it sold out on the LEGO store online and then it’s back ordered until mid December. I somehow feel we are the vocal minority on those who want this and won’t admit, we shall see

I’m the weird Star Wars fan that loves the space sequences but does not get the space ships. However I’m a sucker for the playsets, I’m currently building the old 2016 Death Star and getting hyped up for the new one that comes out tomorrow. Granted, not looking forward to the price but still, my entire collection is minifigures from lego either way, I”m sorry lololol I wanted to stand against the expensive price, but fomo on the ridiculous GWP that I’ll regret brick linking later. LEGO has me.

I completely regret selling my older POTC sets. I did it with the hype of Dead Men tell no tales, thinking they would release their older sets but instead we got the silent Mary. I wish I stocked up on red coats, captain’s cabin and the wooden jack sparrow.

So, I’m weird, I don’t collect lego sets because of the builds, I collect minifigures and I’m that lego collector that buy sets just to update older versions of the newly released characters. Luckily I have like 30000 insider points that can absorb the taxes and I do have cash on hand to help with the rest, but believe me I dislike this set aside from being a death slice, they locked the newer characters behind an expensive set. My biggest regret selling my POTC ships wasn’t the ships but the minifigures, they are so much cool imho.

Hopefully. Pick a brick adds the sails to add two more I think, But that mod looks nice, Full cannons should fit though, even with the slide mechanism I think! But I fixed the issue i had with the sliding cannons, I’m that precision lego builder that ensures everything’s snug. Whatever you do, don’t snap them into place, they don’t sit on top of the peg and grind the tile as you can see, leaving them floating a bit fixes the issue. Now they move without effort at all! before i had to fight the gear and manually push them forward Switching the bird to the flying one would had been a better choice imho One last thing, I had to recreate this!!! Lololol I really don’t feel bad at all for waiting two hours in line at my store just for this ship. Now im worried about the death start selling out as quickly! The US online store has backordered until December 8th!

Got this day one, now back ordered and gwp sold out. Compass in person is actually close to 1:1 scale and has a functional spinning disk 😬😬. The moving cannons is my only gripe with this ship, I’m having a hard time because they get stuck halfway and using much force irritates my finger. It’s not as smooth as the videos make out to be. The moving rudder with the wheel removes space for any characters behind it. Masts were a fun build, but I like this 2.0 😬😬

Building the ship itself was all refreshing, however the vast majority of the entire build inside the hull is the cannons and rudder steering mechanisms. Frankly my cannon setup doesn’t work as intended since they get stuck and i have to push them all out so not even smooth like the manual intended. They completely copied the cannons from the Silent Mary and are close in size to the original and realistically, you can modify the area for them to fit the original cannons since they do fit, but removing the gun’s mechanism can completely give the build like 85% more space, removing the rudder mechanism can indeed help it connect the captains quarters, but I’m more interested in replicating the bottom hull setup as seen an earlier post about for the pirates of barracuda bay ship. That’s actually my favorite play feature! Jonas heyer did an amazing review and now makes me feel like I understand what was missing on this build. I watched POTC 1 and POTC 2 to build the entire ship, there’s some refreshing techniques seen in the mast, but I’m curious if adding lego rope would work fix some of the issues with the fabric sails, because they do look flat tbh. I wish They would give us more ships from the POTC line like the Dauntless, Queen Anne’s Revenge POTC 4 and POTC 5 edition, even a Spanish galleon from POTC 4 and of course the Flying Dutchman which would be expensive for this scale. Call me crazy but LEGO pirates and Castle on this day age are instant purchases for me, I passed on the endurance because it was exploration than piracy, but It’ll always be a pirates life for me LOL The whole interior can be removed imho for more space. however after binging on the movies, the deck needs more cannons also lolol All things considered I think they could all fit with different 2x2’s “I know what I want, I know what I want, I know what I WANT!” Lolol One could argue that either LEGO didn’t anticipate that many fans buying this set or the fans of this set were too huge, it’s backordered on the website and sold out locally, the GWP is also gone. Good news for the franchise I hope.

There’s a reason why I ordered the hulls from PaB back in 2020 when I was all over the BSB, and this is it! I am about to build the black pearl and binge on the POTC movies at the same time, I’ll take notes and see how I can do it 🤣🤣 quite frankly I had like two fronts and like 6 middle pieces thinking it was going to fit the 10309 creator pirate ship 😭😭 dudes I was seeing the ship fly off the displays that they ran out and put out more. Funnily enough we were talking about the Death Star waiting in line, but the store I went to, had one built already and right before opening it took out the Death Star and hauled it somewhere in the mall 🤷 they did had plastic casing but who knows. Seeing it person was huge. But Hey the compass ran out also

I’m looking at the store display right now, I’m the only one waiting inline, it’s identical in size to the black seas barracuda bay ship 😬😬. when I called around yesterday local stores got like 15 each, I’m hoping the sega genesis gwp controller is not sold out here 😭😭 the compass looks almost 1:1 to scale, I thought it wouldn’t had been small but I can’t wait till they open. The points from this set will go towards my next purchase

For sure, I completely, agree, but it's freaking hilarious that LEGO freaking removed the GWP picture in the official set page. omg. lolol

They do this perfectly with the previous two recent Harry Potter modular sets. The problem is that since it’s an addition, once it sold out, that’s it, you won’t get it again. I missed out on the grand staircase and hogwarts resting room two years ago and had to resort to rebuilding it through pick a brick. Luckily the figures weren’t exclusive. What sucks is that even the 4+ set tie fighter looks better than this polybag tie fighter, even the polybag build from solo looked better. however the biggest misstep and that I’m surprised no one’s caught on yet is that they included the tie fighter in the official pictures with no warning of it being a GWP. Once it sells out I’m pretty sure your regular builders will buy it and feel like something’s missing. to be honest this set feels like a bunch of Harry Potter 30$ sets combined and stacked, but like the 2021 weird shapen hogwarts and not the recent masterpiece of their 2024-25 wave. 😭😭😭

In my experience in the past I cancel out the cart a majority of times and if you have cookies enabled, will load up your current cart and edit it that way. Sometimes it will stay there for a few weeks before disappearing 😬

Everything feels automated now, before they used the openable bags now it’s air tight like if it’s machined to spec I think!

I mean, I had every single pirates of the Caribbean set when they came out and sold them all when the prices were high, then the silent Mary came out and still have it, this version is an instant purchase for me tbh, im not even nitpicking it, but idk, The hardest thing I have to do is replace the broken reddish brown bricks from the silent Mary to display it next to this one. now of course the silent Mary will look offscale again next to this ship 🤣

I hate Brick hulls and I agree, the fact that at least half the ship is using legit hull pieces means that it can be possible to literally remove the canon play feature and add real lego shooting cannons! IMHO that's all the set needs. In another foot note one could argue that it technically wasn't Jack Sparrows ship with the minifigs we see, but Barbossa's. Therefore, we would be missing a ton of crew from the Black Pearl. Granted jack "was" a captain but he wasn't captain again after the first movie. Disney once again proves how little they know their franchises.

I’m actually shocked people here had problems with it’s stability, It never wobbled with me for the longest time, even with toddlers tripping over it’s furniture LOL.

Lego might be lazy and use the version of the minifig without his hat like they did in the Silent Mary. Barbossa in the fourth movie is wearing a privateers uniform without the hat for most of the movie, he dons the pirate uniform at the end and dead men tell no tales. Nothing surprises me anymore tbh. I had the QaR and honestly to get an accurate version will be impossible, the captain's quarters is just too big Imho, plus the intricated skulls all over will be something beautiful to behold if they manage to pull it off. PS speaking of which, having the old POTC is becoming a burden more than a hobby now, that same Jack Sparrow minifig is at the verge of breaking, the reddish-brown pants began to get tight, any more walking poses and it's over for poor jack. Sets I can replace, minifigs, it's iffy, I literally applied wd-40 to avert the inevitable but museum poses it is for now.

Hehe, We wanted the Jedi Survivor Mantis crew and ship with Cal and they said no way because of the game lol. In all reality the existence of Cal is a slap on the face because it feels like they can do it but don't want to. Lego online deliveries has been slacking, they still haven't shipped out my burger set, to be honest they tied me down with the backlog of lego rewards codes I have to use lol.

They said in the past they wouldn't include stuff that deals with murder and yet we have gotten Cal kestis and Sideshow bob as figures, both controversial figures in their own right tbh

I'm not taking said chances, they have been a hit or a miss with releases, but you are right I should wait until then to see if they sell them on PaB or going in on this set around that time.

I'm only getting the vending machine for the minifigures and will probably sell the vending machine on it's own, i'm that desperate hehe.
