These are my exact feelings on this set! A similar incident happened with Battle of Hogwarts set, I got two hair pieces for a character that was missing the face itself, I had to order a missing face for that set because I think in the factory they counted that I got two minifigure head accessories I guess. I checked and double checked my bags and building area in case it rolled off but it was flat out missing, I think the fact i got an extra hair piece which is impossible, was the dead give away. I'm not disliking the modular aspect of it but I dislike that they changed the building style FOR the modular accommodation! It is what it is! Glad to know i'm not the only one who feels the 2015 prints are superior to this. I want to give LEGO the benefit of the doubt in using plain shakos versus the previously printed ones, i'm even tempted into buying more just in case I change my mind on getting more imperials.

[ENTRY] 31109 Pirate Ship Creator 3 in 1 revisited
eldiano replied to eldiano's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks Everyone, I wasn't trying to expand this set that much, I should had used my words more carefully haha, i wanted to keep it the same size as the original, my goal was just to add the sails, but my main problem was converting the sails from brick to fabric. The original set had room for double sails, the second were folded, the only sails I could find close to that size were torn up from the Silent Mary Set. I had to study and analyze how brick beard's bounty and barracuda 21322 did theirs, and mixed and matched their building techniques to make it work. I wanted to use the extra sails and pirate flags that I had leftover, this set is just me re using extra parts I've had over the years. The wall was a 1 for 1 copy of the one in the 2015 brick beards bounty that actually fit and the interior was a mini copy of the blackseas barracuda to an extent. I've seen some amazing expansions of two of these ships on this forum but I wanted to keep it similar in size to something lego would had done if they went with the fabric sails I think. The hull was a challenge, I wanted to convert it using the regular molds but 31109 is actually two studs wider and I would had required more bricks to do so, I wasn't trying to spend that much money on making this MOC so I just used already existing parts and pieces I've had and then some! This is me on a budget, I haven't found the treasure yet! haha What kills the original set is the overabundance of the red green and gold I agree, but I just wanted to flesh it out more than being a 3 in 1 set!! I agree the sails are overly huge for these set, but I'm not cutting up original lego sails considering how expensive they are at the moment, I know it looks odd but I just wanted to see how they would had looked like I'll walk the plank if needed hehe- 11 replies

This is ready for the pirates taking!! Or the Broadside's crew is due to arrive any minute!! Excellent set!!

I got blinded by the entry, You are right! I wasn't sure if was more an expansion than a redesign, I just wanted to an extra section Thanks, I'll look into it! Thanks, To be honest I chose a darker contrast of blue for the waterfall so it could stand out better than clear or light blue pieces. The 2015 sets left me wanting another wave and since they can connect I wondered what would "fit" in between both sets, I always felt that the original shipwreck defense was small but the skull island could feature a bigger part of a shipwreck stuck in a rock! I haven't done this set justice but this set is actually four parts, the boardwalk area, the shipwreck area, the hideout and the skull treasure cave, you could legit re arrange them in any order because they are meant to come apart! Thanks!!! I am learning alot from the current el dorado build, especially the "base" rock interactions that baffled me, I could definitely expand it more, I was more focused on the "rocky" area than the skull and the actual ship parts for some reason, It would be interesting to add more depth to it, I built it so it could be displayed in a shelf more than anything, hence why it's not rounded out more!!! The hardest part for me was to figure out how to combine the sets, I didn't know if I wanted to expand it from skull or shipwreck side, I ultimately decided to put in between as some of sort of defense, it's like a mini hideout from the armada and their gold! Kind of like the old school pirates of the Caribbean island of tortuga playset I think, many pirates tried to steal their brothers treasure but failed, even the armada tried and failed as well! I wanted to keep it a bit small, I don't have that many spare bricks to make it a decent cliff ha-ha Thanks!! I am definitely keen on taking everyone's ideas though! Thank you!! Thank you, that was my goal!! They are some incredibly detailed MOC's around here that are extremely beautiful and gorgeous, I just wanted to fill in the gaps of what something LEGO would had done had they added another wave to fill a void in my heart! Thanks, I had no idea what to do with the top or that wall for that matter, I do need to change out the flag so it can be seen, I never noticed it wasn't in plain sight haha That's a beautiful idea!!! We have Barracuda shipwrecked already, that's an excellent idea since it would fit nicely with the rocky defense haha, My inspiration was based on some Lara Croft ps1 based tomb raider levels, where you are running through an upside down shipwrecked and run into the Maria Doria all of a sudden, nothing makes sense!! Thanks you so much!!

Which Pirates sets have (or may have) problem with brittle brown bricks?
eldiano replied to zinnn's topic in LEGO Pirates
Snoke had no Idea hahaha, dude, my "Old" TFA Han Solo figure started to cracked as well, Kylo's out of control!!! I pulled out my Kingdoms and pirate sets from the last decade to do some inventory on bricks, I started to build some sets like 7947 Prison Tower escape and kings carriage, every single time i inserted a brown brick in a stud I heard some sort of crack, some were visible. I don't know what to do, I am taking inventory of all the broken bricks I need to order but I don't know if LEGO will raise a red flag because i'm legit ordering almost every single brown brick from sets that I own from that time period. For everyone here, take apart your old sets and put them back together and see how many bricks will break on you, this is what I am currently doing right now! But I agree, I am currently selling my old simpsons sets and other huge sets but I don't know how many brown bricks are already broken because I haven't built them in more than 5 years! I was also taking apart my ghostbusters firehouse and only like 4 bricks were completely broken, a few red bricks and just a few brown ones, but this is what i'm running into hahaha: Look at the cracked plate behind under the stairs: -
Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
eldiano replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I’m confused so why did the leaked images of this set have a goat then? Granted the study group might have screwed it up but either way it’s safe to say it’s around the corner within this year or next year, the thing is that even at the beginning of the year we had no idea wether lego was releasing the medieval village or el dorado fortress and look what happened haha -
Nice! I was just curious to see what kind of MOC other users from here have come up with!

Anyone else get this set or are still busy building it?

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
eldiano replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Never been more let down by PaB as of yet, I’m happy I got my blacktron parts but I was really looking forward to add more Armada figures to my repertoire of figures. -
There’s only two red masonry bricks in this set that are red and are hidden in the governors office window., the other masonry bricks are gray and the manual wants you to flip them around 😒 this set is obsessed with 1x2 dark red/round edges as masonry bricks. I don’t know what they were trying to convey here.

I agree, that canon has to go! One of the other roofs has a canon space that’s perfect but it’s facing the crane. This set is so modular that the manual is legit split into sections, like the first book is just the ship, the second book is the main entrance and front wall, the other book is the rear turrets, etc, like you can start off on random parts of the fort if need be!!! I stocked up on imperial soldiers any chance I got a while back, but now I need to build my other pirate sets to see how they fit with this one hehe. The next four months are going to be brutal waiting to see if they do pop up or not!!!
-
This is why I had to build the set first I think, when you combine it and look at it in person, I saw ways to expand it. It's a technicality because they were going for the modular design, the main focus of this set is to be modular when you connect the rear wall to the top of the governors office, the canon doesn't give you that's much room for him to be there anyways, my logic is to move the cannon more to the right and expanding the balcony because there's more room and actually giving him a chair and a victorian statue or bust. What I love about that specific rear piece is that the balcony and room at the bottom can be expanded like 1 or 2 more studs. I'm leaning towards getting a second one soon just for add more rooms but a total surprise to me was that in the manual it tells us that the rear portion of the fort is a pier for the 21322 Barracuda bay and the front pier is for the imperial trading ship lol This set is meant to be displayed in its modular form, I think a second set would fix this bad boy into recreating a more accurate fort: Poor governor can’t plan anything in this room The base of that specific section can be completely saved with the amount of room still available though

I share your same concern, I’m the type of consumer that voices their opinion when companies like amazon stick a shipping label to the actual box of lego sets and arrives beaten up and damaged. Like I mentioned Lego will take care of you said anything happens to it in between but generally they arrive in good condition. I know some lego fans throw out the boxes but not me, I keep them because they are beautiful, especially this one, My lego store knows me so well they keep my sets boxed up so I can buy them with the shipping box, included. For me it’s extra storage protection that keeps the cardboard scratch and dust free. For me to be honest shipping boxes are my GWP, this is why I like to buy them when they get released since it’s one of the few times I can buy one closed like that.

I posted a picture on my previous message so you can see the comparison above!! to be honest the cardboard on this set is thinner than 10305. I feel that this one can be damaged easily during shipping, but to be honest one of my barracuda bay sets was damaged from shop.lego and they managed to send out a new one with cushions inside the box that time 🤣 El Dorado has some interesting building techniques but the more I dig deeper into set, the hope of building an extra imperial trading post, is fading to the sea. I am happy extremely happy building a new pirates set from 2023 but it’s sad that we have to put up with paying more for less, like F1stzz mentioned the printing quality or lack of any printing is noticeable, I wanted to defend it so bad BUT once I saw that the imperial hats had no prints, I went over board. MIND you if you don’t have the previous wave you really won’t miss anything but if you compare them side to side, I am soooo glad I stocked up on imperial officers from the chess set and buying a bunch of sets around this time. Haha look I’m loving this set, but the minifigures feel like they were made by bootleg company. Yes they are different but imperial clothes are not as shiny/reflective as the 2015 line up, even the armada flag has no gold trims. What I mean is that the other figures had more details in the clothes than these ones. I just want to say that I’m extremely happy with a new imperial set, I love it, but I’m just being nit picky with stuff that I could possible change in the future. That governors office had me in tears, I thought I could fix the door but that doorway is 3 studs wide only haha BTW Roebuck mentioned that lego has locked the admiral torso/admiral hat and admiral flag as an IP so we won’t be able to buy them directly from PaB ever or for a long while.

The shipping box has no cardboard blocks, it’s a bit loose on the sides and a snug from front to back. Definitely not like 10305, when I was carrying this set around I felt the box moving aside from the bags of lego

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
eldiano replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wait, but why? It makes no sense, they could markup the prices by 50% and I would buy it, why didn’t they do this with 10305 lion knights castle? as I currently build I’m currently build the el dorado fortress, I am happy with the xtra red epaulettes though 🤣 -

I knew I wasn’t crazy, i remember those prices, but I thought it was a victim of the price increase because it’s 99.99 currently. -

This sucks, no wonder they haven’t placed the galaxy explorer on clearance yet, it’s sad they are holding the classic torsos hostage as well for that reason!!! -

Thanks for the heads up!!1 Did they ever sell the classic space red and white torsos from 10497 galaxy explorer on PaB? -
Snagged one last pic before leaving the store. This is in Texas
-
I quoted it directly from the manual 🤣🤣. Either way Lego’s turn around time for BaP is six months now, There wasn’t a line but only like 3 people were there at store opening, but managed to snagged a boxed up one 😭. i don’t think that Lego stores had much room for display anyways This is hilarious, I wish they still put them up before release date like before

Which Pirates sets have (or may have) problem with brittle brown bricks?
eldiano replied to zinnn's topic in LEGO Pirates
What terrified me was minifigures, bricks i can swap out easily but the other day I was adjusting my collection and moved around some figures to my horror a couple of them had stiff arms around the joints, but I thought they were just stuck because they were new, i hardly use my figs and nope, the torso and arm snapped and broke off in pieces. I noticed that if the arm is super tight, if you force it more it will break, so far I did the dumb thing to apply some wd-40 and it kind of helped since it's smoother but plastic in general is not as strong because of complaints about it's lifecycle. As of late gorilla glue is my best friend. -
So Lego's storyline of this fortress is that it's an older version of it, it's seen it's battles, similar to barracuda bay. It's continuing the story. 6467652.pdf (lego.com) Existing parts are up already: LEGO® Pick a Brick | Official LEGO® Shop US I can't to purchase a few imperial and admiral hats and those red epaulettes.
