The reason I think the sentinel is that size is because in the new movie the past sentinels are that size as to a person they look about 3 times taller and the same applies with this and the minfigure. My guess is when designing this set, Lego saw the designs of the movie sentinels and noted their height and decided to use the height of the movie ones to allow interact-ability with the human size figures. In essence this seems very DOFP similar. In the trailers we keep seeing the Jet and the purple sentinels. Plus magneto's outfit is when he briefly became headmaster at Xavier's school and an ally to the X-men. Although he is fighting storm on the box I like to think he is fighting the sentinel as it would seek to kill him too. I think the wolverine in this set is an older version to the last one perhaps another influence from FOX as in the alternate ending of the wolverine (2013) we see him being given a modern styling of the brown and yellow complete with mask. Plus the face looks more mature and the facial hair is more prominent exactly like the DOFP film version. Both likenesses are based on Hugh Jackman no doubt but I think the new one is meant to be older.

Just in case no one has seen this yet today. I have a feeling we may be seeing something quite special in 2016 if lego are making sets from the movie. got to love that bat suit and what a set of wheels!

Do not worry I have seen it twice actually since it came out over here. It was only because I did not want anyone who had not seen the film to catch on about his role in this film. That sounds like a good combo as he wears a black overcoat and black shirt and Lego have yet to make a torso like that. If In the future they made a tie in with ASM with him in it I would guess they would do it with a printed coat that extends onto legs. I'm tempted once the blu ray comes out to use the audio from that scene to make a stop motion recreation with Lego.

Rinzler: I am terribly sorry I meant no offence. I misunderstood the joke. My comment was more of an FYI rather than anything that would imply that I was even remotely annoyed by your tron reference. Sorry mate. I was unaware Webb had already revealed him as the gentleman as I avoided most spoilers from the film for a while so that scene was a welcome surprise. Spider- Man: Cool. Thanks for link!

I was trying to not spoil that character's introduction of a name. Which is why I listed him as the man in the hat for the people that haven't seen the film. So all modern futuristic holographic displays are rip offs of tron? I disagree. Through most modern marvel films they have been used even asgardians have them. So many other films like minority report, the Star Wars saga, Star trek/ into darkness. I wouldn't call holographic displays an original tron idea as the concept of holographic technology has been present in so much popular media (especially in animation) for decades. But yes it was reminiscent of such tech but not an exclusive rip off of tron. Heck! even Cap 2 uses them. But I see your point nonetheless whether I agree or not. To replicate that in Lego they'd probably print the trans blue part with files and an image of the glider/military battle suit.

If we get any more USM in 2015 alongside A2 I'd like to see Classic Green Goblin in a set idea similar to the ock one but a £12 set like with electro that includes classic gobby and glider, Spiderman and pale green coat Gwen. Spiderman could have a web and maybe a launching feature and maybe they could print the legs just to add a bit of variety. Then a £20 set with Spidey, Lizard (as he appeared in USM), Agent Coulson (suit with big ADU gun) set could be Lola from agents of shield and some sort of vehicle that lizard is attacking maybe a good old fashioned NYC police car could appear. Then one final set with Iron Spidey, White Tiger and comic Iron man protecting Norman Osborn from... the rhino and vulture and sandman and some sort of Spidey vehicle then throw in a reasonable size limo for Osborn make a nice £45 set. That way classic marvel collectors can complete their avengers from this year with comic book iron man, Ultimate completist get White tiger to add to their Shield super team, classic Marvel fans get Comic GG, Gwen, Lizard, Osborn, Sandman, Vulture, Rhino. AOS people get Coulson and Lola. Every body is satisfied and its a nice appetizer for avengers sets. Then for DC if we have to have more batman in 2015 I'd like to see a £30 set with Batman (black beware variant) and Arrow fighting Deathstroke and Merlyn. Arrow would have his dark green bike, Batman would have some sort of big glider Malcolm and Deathstroke would have a missile equipped sport's car. Then one more set with Wayne manor being attacked £80 with Batman (Battle damaged ripped suit) armed with silver ninja sword, Ras Al Ghul (green cape and suit) with scimitar, Alfred (either beware with bowler and ADU shotgun or normal), Black Canary (On vacation in Gotham and fighting her former boss?), Scarecrow (begins call-back), Bruce in Casual gear, Talia al ghul, Commissioner Gordon (trenchcoat) vehicles included, helicopter for Ras, Bat mech (you can't say that wouldn't be awesome) and the tumbler in black making one last appearance with Gordon at it's helm.

Just a thought but thanks to ASM films and USM series it might be cool to see oscorp tower in the future. I could imagine a decent £130 set they could make it a one off ASM film series set. It would give us the chance to get some well needed main characters without Lego having to make more than one set. Set would be a six level oscorp tower with an exterior that looks like the building in ASM2, The bottom floor would be the futuristic reception seen in ASM2 with an elevator (like the death star which runs throughout the building), Next floor up would be The power complex where max works with tank of eels and breaking panel, next floor up would be a large room with six opening doors containing villain apparatus and the goblin glider, next floor would be Connor's and Richard Parker's lab with one section with a bioreactor and a blue room with arms holding spiders and a dropping function, Next Floor would be one with lots of metal walkways with the lift going through, final floor before roof would be Harry's office with a large window and a futuristic looking desk with a launch feature. The roof would have nitrogen cooling thing in ASM with ganali device on a collapsible spire. Minifigure wise: Spiderman (ASM2) with spare peter parker (Andrew Garfield) head and hair, Harry Osborn (ASM2 leather jacket, double sided face smiling and angry, Goblin (ASM2), Gwen Stacy (pale green coat and purple skirt ASM2), Electro (ASM2), Man In the hat (ASM1 and 2), Curt Connors (ASM), The lizard(ASM), Richard Parker (ASM2), Capt. Stacy (ASM). Box art would depict electro busting out of a window, Lizard climbing the spire, Goblin heading straight on to the image with Gwen and Spiderman chasing him. capt Stacy would be looking up at the spire. Set also includes police car for capt Stacy and a crane for Spidey to swing from. Just an idea to hit most birds with one stone.

I don't know if I'm alone in thinking this but I think it'd be great to see some of the villains who appeared on brave and the bold in sets. Clock King, Black manta, gorilla grodd, gentleman ghost, Ras al ghul, Darkseid. Same with heroes I'd like to see Green arrow (but in a hood), Black canary e.t.c. Just a passing thought whilst watching BATB on blu ray for the first time.

If we were to get Deathstroke then I'd think it'd be either this version http://img2.wikia.no...Deathstroke.jpg or the arrow version http://i.newsarama.c....jpg?1397051326 Personally I prefer the arrow one cause it looks more accurate to the comics but the dark blue orange and gold mixed with the grey and black really work well. Plus the armour looks really realistic like real body armour and something that seems believable in real life. The Beware one is cool but stroke has both eyes and it looks kind of simplistic and there is no ammo belt or anything like that. Then again this fits Lego's batman cartoony look and would tie in with son of batman which Lego took the damian design from. http://comicsworthreading.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/SoBat-Deathstroke.jpg

[MOC] Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Final Confrontation
legofreak86 replied to Batsy's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nicely done. I never considered how much kili's head looks like WS. I'd also like to see a pic with a face bandana. My WS I made uses the lone ranger head but an all black outfit so it appears a fusion of movie and comic. Sadly I own no black bandanna as I own kili I would try it if I could. Perhaps I will pick one up sometime.- 14 replies

Kcmatze: The 2012 Anakin skywalker dark could work quite nicely as his mouth would be covered and his eyes have dark circles around them. Then again a stubbled face with a grim expression would work a treat. Personally I think its a bit of a cop out that one of the most important villains in marvel movie gets no figure yet the thick (and badly voice acted) as a plank of wood goblin in the USM cartoon gets one. I mean if your gonna make a GG figure then at very least make it a variant people would like to own. Another unfortunate omission a comic design GG seen in the game.- 14 replies

After watching episodes 13-15 of beware the batman I realise surely soon it should be time to see Ras in a set. Lego can't claim that beware is no longer successful enough to continue tying in cause it recently was nominated for a daytime emmy and it is returning to TV in July (perhaps to coincide with bat's 75th?). I could potentially see a future set involving Ras at least but maybe katana and badass Alfred as well. Their designs would lend themselves well to Lego representation and would finally allow Alfred into a set in an action role. Obviously with another vehicle or maybe Wayne manor. Maybe as Deathstroke also turns up in episode 22 they could do a set with Ras, stroke and a goon attacking Wayne manor in a vehicle and have Arrow, Alfred and Black Beware Batman variant seen on the calendar fighting them maybe with katana as an extra. As both arrow and beware have dealings with the league and Deathstroke in their current series it would hit two birds with one stone so to speak.

Having a helmeted Deathstroke would mean that the face could be Manu Bennett's eye patched face with double side. They could also include his CW count Dooku style widow peak dark brown hair maybe with white highlights in it.

Give me Slade aka Deathstroke over ventriloquist any day! His role in arrow is HUGE now. Plus he has a lot of media centered apon him currently. I'd love to see a set of green arrow (TV show version) and Batman facing Slade and Dark archer. Both villains have featured in arrow but slade is not exclusive to arrow as he is predominantly associated with batman. Interesting seeing so much backstory and plot focussed on him in arrow though. Really adds a certain depth to what some used to consider a simple mercenary for hire. Plus his costume is blue and orange which fits into both arrow and the classic comic designs and would make him slot in nicely with the other villains we have in Lego form. Personally in Future DC sets I'd like to see: Deathstroke, Arrow, Dark Archer, Ras Al Ghul, Black Manta, Clock King, Dead-shot and if we have to have a return villain then scarecrow as he has thus far in this line been inaccessible to anyone who does not own/ Doesn't want to get the asylum breakout. It would make sense as the penguin returned this year after being in the asylum with a IMO far superior variant.

Should Lego cover the old Superhero films?
legofreak86 replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would love to see the likes of Malekith The Accursed, The Winter Soldier, Black coat nick fury, Agent Coulson, Maria Hill, Odin, Heimdal The destroyer, Obadiah Stane appearing at some point. The Videogame TDW Malekith design is begging to be made as is Odin. -
If we have to get more spiderman in 2015 I hope we get an ASM2 set but if there is cartoon spidey stuff coming then I hope we would get villain wise: Comic Goblin, some variation of rhino, Vulture and lizard as they are core bad guys in the Spiderman mythos and with the planned sinister six film it makes sense to get vulture, Rhino and lizard as I would guess they would be appearing in the future. Plus the six appeared in USM so it would fit story wise. They could fulfil everyone's requests and Include Coulson in a comic goblin set or Gwen Stacy. The set could be Lola and GG's glider as both are very recognisable. Then the larger set could be Rhino(maybe mech version) and Lizard vs. Spiderman. Either way if we get Spidey sets again next year then those three villain variations are a must hopefully we could get a mysterio at some point. Plus either include an ASM2 Spidey suit or add leg printing and darker blue to current one for the sake of variety! (I have 6 identical spider men currently). But I agree a mix of Fantastic 4, Avengers 2, Xmen and spidey would be ideal.

I was hoping that most of next year's sets are Avengers 2. I'd hope at least six as there were 10 sets this year. This would be ideal: January: CATWS set (like with TDKR) with Cap, Fury, Winter soldier and maybe falcon and some sort of vehicle and then ASM2 set with Electro, Movie Spiderman, Gwen, goblin and a couple of pylons and the clock tower and GG's Glider. Then maybe one smaller final set with Coulson and Hill fighting some villain to tie in with AOS and Coulson's car. May: Six Avengers 2 sets then they can cover all bases with characters. July: Exclusive either another xmen or an ant man set (seems unlikely due to the low anticipation for movie) That's what I would do If I was given the big red button to push!

Just realised the BO5A set will read on the box: The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies. Set 79017 The Battle Of The Five Armies! First time a Lego set in history has had the exact same title as the movie it is based upon.

Steph: I did mention that it was only for in store pickup in my comment.

Not this same PJ vs. Tolkien argument again surely?? Change the record! (or playlist in this day and age ). This has been debated ten thousand times. Calling a film "twisted" just sounds over the top. Its getting real tedious hearing this again and again on this forum and others around the net. Count yourself lucky he made film adaptations of The Hobbit! Cause without the movies there would be no Hobbit nor LOTR Lego. FYI the book on its own would never make a decent movie. Lack of character development (other than Bilbo) is not sufficient for a coherent film/s On a lighter note fantastic moc! Great representation of the movie scene which I personally enjoyed immensely! Then again I am a film student and film fanatic. So it comes with the territory!

What is your favourite and least favourite Super Heroes Minifigure?
legofreak86 replied to Godtshep's topic in LEGO Licensed
Doc Ock 2012 ultimate Spiderman is the worst variation of the character ever to grace screens and doesn't deserve a Lego figure. Star lord has quickly become one of the best designed movie accurate characters Lego has made. just brilliantly done all round. -
Lee pace is approaching his second minifigure now as ronan the accuser is to be played by him as was King Thranduil. Karen Gillan who is well known for being Amy pond in doctor who is set to appear in a set playing the character nebula. So that's some news. Personally I would count voice actors as a vocal performance can be far more challenging and absorbing than live action. Especially with the Lego movie as the likenesses and the personal traits of some of the actors were put into the characters. Like Chris Pratt's personality is rather similar to the character as is Morgan Freeman and Will Ferrell's Lord business actually looks like Will Ferrell. Plus when you have a clone wars Anakin when you think of the character you hear Matt Lanter's voice not Christiansen (who lanter beats hands down). So I think of voice actors as I think of actors.

Call me crazy but judging by the pricing I wouldn't be surprised if the BO5A set was based on a notable scene from the movie and not a pure army builder. I may be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw ruins of dale, an eagle, bear beorn with Thranduil (armour), Dain Ironfoot, 2 orcs, Gandalf with rad's staff and sword (maybe with scars to mix it up a bit), 1 elf soldier, 2 dwarf soldiers. Then Lego fulfil their apparent need to include main characters in sets so kids understand what is going on ( I was in a Lego shop yesterday for a while and I saw more than a few turn their noses up at the beorn set) most of my younger friends (10-16) at the swimming club I compete in couldn't even recollect beorn from the desolation. I would think Lego would have to shove at least one well known to kids character in and If like in the production blog they see Gandalf and thranduil fighting in dale in the film they will probably remember them best in that scene. Just a hunch. I reckon lake town will be: Bofur, Bard (blue jacket), Bain, Bolg, Kili (armour taba), Fili (armour),with the wind lance tower. Dol Guldur: Witch king, Elrond (armour), Galadriel with Dol Guldur ruin part. Erebor: Thorin (Taba armour), Bibo (Blue Jacket and mithril shirt?), Balin (armoured?), Bombur (armoured), Gloin (armoured), Dwalin (armoured), Dori (armoured), Nori (armoured), Ori (armoured) and an exclusive king thror minifigure set I'd imagine as people have said is like the forges, mine carts, the throne walkway and of course Smaug the dragon. That's the way I can see it going.
