Were the sets available for pre-order on May 2? I can't recall if I read that somewhere or if it was made up in my head. Edit: Nevermind! I see LEGO.com has updated that pre-orders will be available May 3.

Your theory of TLG scrambling to create sets with Potter's popularity and being evergreen now reminds me of Pokemon when Johto was supposed to be the last season but it was so popular so they had Ash lose the tournament again. Oof! The red bridge from PS is so nice but the structure in OOTP fits better because it matches Hogwarts. If I could guess - I'd say they will choose OOTP only because someone here guessed WB wants the sets to look like the parks as much as possible. If I recall from being in Orlando last year, I believe the station there is modeled after OOTP.

If this year's Whomping Willow can't hold the Ford Anglia, then it'll follow the film's WW design change where POA's WW doesn't seem like it could hold and smash a car. haha

LOVE the Shrieking Shack but i wonder if it could have been taller if they didn’t squeeze a new Whomping Willow in there. (As much as I love the new iteration of WW) I have to applaud TLG team for the Grimmauld Place build. With the mechanism needing to show the houses on the side, I totally thought they would have to make it a Muggle household, but so smart they just made Grimmauld place interior be the whole thing! I think I am the only one who loves Sirius Black’s escape. I LOVE the archways! I just wish we got to see an iteration of the Dark Tower with the 2018-2020 style. Ministry of Magic is good! I’d love to see someone be able to double or triple on sets and stack those bad boys.

For those who bought and built the Hogwarts Hospital Wing, can I ask: do you guys think it is weird they used different pieces to represent the hands of the clock (versus the Clock Tower set from 2019)? I’m curious if anyone can figure out why they would use a piece with two ends with clips as the minute hand.

After reading your guys’ posts about finding the sets early at Walmart, I left my place at 10pm to go see if my local Walmart had them! Not successful but I thought it was hilarious that I went out so late at night because of you guys!

Nice job on the carriage! YES, I hope we get a lamppost too! Me! Since seeing it in the microfig Hogwarts set, I do want her office. (Plates with cat prints on them would be so cute!) Surprised by the lack of excitement of Sirius’ Escape from the Dark Tower because I am so stoked. But I realized, POA is my favorite and the scene where they save Sirius has gorgeous music (I even bought the high priced expansion soundtrack to get the track). SO, that is why I am so stoked about getting the Dark Tower.

I realized this Hogwarts carriage could be an iteration of the carriage from Order of the Phoenix (with the open roof): https://i.insider.com/5f2095ffde1e9605e53d918f?width=600&format=jpeg&auto=webp So it truly won’t be a repeat of the recent carriage. (Apologies if someone already guessed and posted this!)

You're right! I kept thinking this was a Burrow situation where the original one was already well done but TLG outdid themselves with the new set...but I took a glance at the instructions for the Shack and it was a fairly simple build. (I didn't realize the original Shack also has the entrance/exit from the floor! Here's to hoping they include that in this new reiteration.) Oh yes, I am pretty sure Lupin will have his werewolf form! Doubt they will have that box where it sucks up a minifigure and spits out the alternate form though.

I have so much excitement for the Shrieking Shack, I hope it is better than the 2004 version. I am even pondering if I should not look at pictures until I walk into the store in June/July and REALLY be surprised. 😂
-
Oh! I thought it would be stacked on Sirius’ Rescue because the description says fountain and arches. But I think you are correct

I am so glad everyone guess Shrieking Shack. I might be able to forgive my 14 year old self for not buying the Shack set back then!

I’ve been using the carriage from Grindelwald’s Escape as a Hogwarts carriage. Here is to hoping this new carriage is even better!
-
I really love the new set. The one thing I disliked about the Clock Tower in 2019 is that they made the focus on the Yule Ball instead of POA.
-
I wish the new Clock Tower set came with more rock work. I would love if the soft reboot sets all came with a cliff.
-
Hm, I wonder if TLG will include rock work under the Hospital Wing/Clock Tower.
-
WOW. Ravenclawed, your bell towers look AMAZING! (I am even more excited that you used the new sets only!) I can't wait to attempt these myself now!

I'd try rolling the whole thing, keep it there for a few minutes. Unravel it and it should stick out less because it's been, for a lack of better term: morphed. I've also done this technique with hanging movie posters that have been kept rolled up for so long: rolling it the other way balances it out so it lays flat.

Oh! I got the idea from Jangbricks (youtube): he uses a charcuterie board to pour his LEGO pieces onto. This tall edges might help your pieces from flowing onto your bed.

In the interview, Marcos explained the reboot is for kids who were toddlers a few years ago and now can get into HP at the age of 6.

I expanded my Honeydukes! What do you guys think? https://ibb.co/c3GTCHx The set is already accurate to the film but not the parks. But, I also did not want to just extend it width wise...so I tried to mimic the side that is next to the Three Broomsticks at the park. I don't have that giant flat window yet so this will have to do for now.

The Clock Tower from 2004 was such a hit with me. It really did make middle school feel so magical. That being said, 2019's clock tower is average. It could be better. SO, I am hoping they will want to create more nostalgia by attempting to redo the 2004 Clock Tower in the 2021 style!

There's a misprint on the instructions for the COS. For Tom Riddle's diary, it is listed to use sticker 12 but that is Salazar Slytherin statue's eye. Pretty sure you guys will be fine though LOL. I guess I bring it up in hopes that parents don't look down at LEGO because of the small misprint.
-
oh no! Not three! I've gotten three Snapes so far. Has anyone mentioned if Lego Store employees would carry extra tiles to encourage people to go in and trade? That would give them a lot of foot traffic and potential sales.
-
Oh no! I think i cheated it a little by having Ron dead center and head on into the Snare. By the way, the Lockhart minifigure comes in bag 3 of the Chamber of Secrets set. Is it a coincidence the Chocolate Frog card with bag 3 is also Lockhart?
