Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread
GeoBrick replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'll grant you that. Luckily, over the years I purchased enough animals through PAB and BrickLink to populate any kind of market square you can imagine. -
't Was hit&miss with the browser window(s), but eventually I could order&pay for it. Then, when I shopped for a second set of this series the fortress was in my bucket again! Took the order anyway, and once I got confirmation mails for both orders, annuled the first one to give someone else a chance.

A funny tidbit: what was used as a (high) stool in the MMV, is a night stand in this set. Look in the town guard's bedroom. -

My rough estimate would be another 50 €. Definitely a set to purchase early. At least half the torso's are new, a good line of trades on display, and compatibility with both the LKC and the old MMV. From what I see sofar I like the stable-like structure with the rounded window in the roof, the Red Inn-like house, and the ground floor of the right-most house the most. So, we 'upgraded' from a medieval market village to a town square in the span of 15 years. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long for a medieval city set. -
Or a subfaction of space pilots versus ground vehicle drivers...

My atavistic streak says yellow, but for certain themes or MOC circumstances I won't mind flesh toned faces. BTW, where's the blue colored option in the poll??!

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
GeoBrick replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
More variety in babynauts? Sweet! And the set itself is a nice homage too. Too bad the appearant run of this GWP is before the rumoured retail release date of the MTS, and after the order timeframe of the BDP round 1 sets. But I assume those weren't eligible anyway for receiving GWP's for. -
I got some nice Mediteranean vibes from this creation. Definitely a like from me. :)

An expansive (and no doubt expensive) layout you have here, HarrisBricks. You definitely went all the way to create your dream castle. I'm most curious how you managed the angle of the gate tower with the rest of the ramparts.
-
I like how you've done the wall around the monastry.
-
Haven't you seen the scoundrels in the shop??!
-
I like that roof pattern.
-
Why, of course. All of a wenches' offspring should have the opportunity to reach a station in life...
-
Nope. If at all I feel the inclusion of the ship made the set that more appealing. Sofar I've only built up the governors' office and the crane somewhat, but the prison tower needs some work too so it can function as the third cannon platform.

Well, IIRC I managed to snatch CitF at around minute 13. ;) Then again, I live in a smaller region, maybe that's why this set wasn't sold out as fast as in the US. But you're right. After the debacle of the first round, chances were made to the number of copies that could be ordered.
-
Actually, initially there were only 5000 copies to be sold, and due to a ordering error on the site it increased to a bit over 10000 copies.
-
Well, at least its double the potential buyers then last time a popular historical set could be pre-ordered (Castle in the Forest). With appearantly a max of two/buyer there's at least 15,000 people who can go for it, and the set does has quite a steep price.

Really? Wow, that's very good news. I thought the atmosphere intakes on the wings were stickers, but I'm glad to be wrong.

Tortuga! 'nough said!

Lego City minifig styles are usually one-year designs. Look at the past 2 city space styles. They were similar to be sure, and interchangeable, but different.

Its a Black(ops)Tron operation... -
A polybag usually is priced at 5 €, so shouldn't cause a dent in your wallet (or card chip ).

I was lucky to catch five or six on the BAM tower when they were available. The staff looked the other way when I assembled them, since they were kind of pre-packed in those 3 figpacks. -
[Freebuild] Embervale Advent Calendar 2023 - Winter Nights
GeoBrick replied to Aurore's topic in Guilds of Historica
And another beautiful scene, Aurore I like the sledge. Seems to have the right amount of design uniformity versus detailing. And I love the use of those white flower stems as tree twigs. 😉 Can I ask what element you used for the sledge's back seat? I don't recognise it. Merry Christmas, and thanks for the Advent scenes.- 94 replies
