LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Klaus-Dieter replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you all very much for the news and pics! The new Tantive IV looks great from the outside. In contrast the interior is again not that great: That in the cockpit the minifigs hang with their seats in the air and can't look outside is bad. Plus not including the floor where Vader enters, is again a missed opportunity. Plus the price is definately much too high. So all in all it's not bad and not stunning, but ok. Th 20th years anniversary Battle Of Hoth Diorama looks nice. Nothing stunning. So I wouldn't have bought it. But as a GWP it's nice. Which concerns an exclusive minifig, I would have had doubts if we had gotten a new and wanted one. A main character would have had been boring and getting a character only seen for a short time in the movie(s), I doubt that TLG would have had done this. So I think it was the better choice to give as the mini build. Btw: Did I miss something or aren't there any SW sets released in summer (but only then the episode 9999 sets in fall)? -
Thank you all very much for the pics! The Dual Rotor Heli is for sure nice, but I don't have any use for it. Carousel Con: - side builds (apart from the bench) look too simple - expensive - some stickers would give the carousell an improved look - only three minifigs included Pro: + goes perfectly as small carousel with the CE Fairground sets + "UFO" sign with ufo and alien in it on top of the carousel looks cute + four very nice builds for rotating around Zoo Shop & Café Con: - not again a hot dog cart!!! - a bit more interior would have had been nice Pro: + good price ratio performance + nice interior + so many and lovely details outside of the buildings + perfect exterior design: I really like the combination of old and new architectual elements I hope that (like in previous years) we will see a new building to place next to this set in January 2020 - at the best a sports shop, a music store or a media store!

Since it's so many time ago that we've seen the last unlicensed and unthemed CMF series - shame on Lego btw - I hope that we'll see mimimum one minifigure of the following "subthemes": costume: fox suit guy / ice cream suit girl / cow suit girl City: abecedarian with large cornet of cardboard filled with sweets and little presents given to children in Germany on their first day at school / circus acrobat / TV director Castle: maiden / hangman / farmer Western: Sioux chief / medicine man / maiden Romans: Praetorian guard / legate / senator Adventures: adventurer / rain forest aboriginie / colonist Plus I really hope that the new medium sized legs (til now only seen in HP sets) will show up in the regular CMF series, too!

Thank you all very much for the info, the pics and the reviews! Since I really like the Dragon Boat Race, it's great news that this set very likely will be available even here in Europe later this year!

Thank you all very much for the pics! Like the amusument park sets some years ago (apart from the Hot Dog Van and that plays stand), I really dislike these sets this time, too! With their too much too girlish colors, there too small sizes and their missing details (e. g. the chairoplane is sompletely violet, fits only three minifigs and can't move up and down to let the minifigs enter), these sets can't go with the CE Fairground sets, the Creator 3 in 1 Caroussel and the Fairground People Pack from City. The animal rescue and underwater research sets aren't bad, but too kitschy and unrealistic. In contrast, I apart from the unicorn whale really like the new elements included in these sets. The only set I like is the restaurant: Con: - expensive - no door from the kitchen (next to the pizza oven) to the outside (I don't care about minidolls and their animals since I mostly don't use them anyway) Pro: + much accessory + very nice interior + amazing exterior design + Mediterranean style is something completely new + buffet looks perfect and is a great addition I really hope that there'll be an exclusive Friends sets as a big building (like last year's HLC Animal Care Center). Do you think that this might be the case? Otherwise this year will be the year I'll have bought the lowest number of Friends sets (namely the art studio and the restaurant) since the beginning of the Friends theme!

That's an amazing MOC, Brick Charlie! I esp. like the many details and the hen house. Hoping for TLG to release something similar soon!

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Now my thoughts on the downtown sets: Fire Chief's Truck Con: - no car doors - would have prefered a closed style truck instead of an open style truck - everything is again about fire - Why couldn't there be tools for rescuing or for a car accident etc.?! Pro: + truck is very well built (apart from the missing car doors) + great new torso and hair piece for the fire chief + energy box is a great addition + much accessory Fairground People Pack Con: - ducks' stand and shooting gallery are too rudimentary and much, much too small (it would have been better to only have one of them, but built it in some sort of real stall) - boy's torso with one white and one flame yellow arm looks weird (both arms should have the same color) - no baby included - clown missing "shoes" under his tall legs (at the best like the juggler in the Fairground Mixxer) Pro: + good price ratio performance + much accessory + "Hau den Lukas" looks good + blue dog balloon is great + rubber duck looks so cute (I hope it will appear as a regular duck in future (City) sets, too!) + ice cream bicycle is perfect + many great new torsos, head printings and hair pieces The Opening Of The Donut Shop Con: - both houses are only one floor big - walls inside the toy shop are so empty, esp. the one on the other side of the cashpoint - no new torso for the camera man (I would have liked a white torso with a big blue printing "TV6+" on its back) - no crane hook on the crane boom - TV van without car doors - sign saying "city coffee" on the donut shop (it should say "donut shop" instead) - police motorcycle, police officer and crook are unnecassary Pro: + perfect price ratio performance + many minifigures included + some interior for the toy shop + nice taxi + crane truck looks good + great exterior design of the toy shop and the donut shop: again I really like the combination of a building in old architectual style (in this case very well combined with modern elements) and one in modern architectual style + perfect coffee bike + very detailed interior for the donut shop + great that we finally get a small, but great looking TV broadcast van In the 4+ Garage I'm not interested - it's simply a Juniors set and therefore doesn't go with regular City sets. Btw: Do you think there might be a second exclusive City set? Of course much smaller than 60229, more in the price range of 60-80 Euros. I could imagine a train station (to go with last year's trains), something fairground or circus related (to go with the people pack) or a supermarket (in order to use the new shopping cart mould from the Friends 4+ HLC Supermarket in another set). -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you all very much for the pics! Here my thoughts on the Space subtheme: Satellite Maintenance Polybag Con: none Pro: + perfect price ratio performance + nice minifigure + looking very realistic + satellite has the perfect size and is very detailed, too Lunar Station Con: - shuttle is too small and that it docks with its end to the station is completely unrealistic (it would have been better to instead include the things below) - no air lock towards the outside - no orange crane (like shown in the prelim) - more solar panels would have been desirable Pro: + good price ratio performance + some solar panels + good minifigure selection + three rooms + looking very realistic (apart from the shuttle) + much and very detailed interior inside the rooms I'm not interersted in the other Space sets - they look too futuristic too me, the rollercoaster rails in the space port are absurd and the lab in the exclusive set is nice, but much too open without any sidewalls. -
The Creator 3 in 1 Carousel is nice and for sure will go with the CE Fairground sets. I really don't see this with the Friends amusement park sets since they don't fit in color, style and size. For me it's very disapponinting to see no CE Fairground set appearing this year only because of a bad Friends amusement park line and a licensed horror series set!

REVIEW: 71023 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie 2 Series
Klaus-Dieter replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for the great review, WhiteFang! Like always, your review is very helpful and useful. The allocation number doesn't made any difference to me. I find that this series is average: There are some very nice minifigs like the customed minifigs and the golfer. The popstars are quite nice - but for four of them they are looking too less different. Plus I'm not interesting in licensed characters and hate those apocalypse minifigs. Minimum one regular historical character is definately missing. Yes, I prefer the traditional LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series and I do really hope that next year for the tenth anniversary we'll get two unlicensed CMF series since I'm absolutely no fan of licensed series! -
zusammengebaut mentioned in their video yesterday that at the press conference at Nuremberg Toy Fair it was stated that last year's City train sets enjoyed great popularity. So I could well imagine - and of course I do hope so - that there'll be minimum one train related set (train or / and train station) in the City or / and the Creator Expert theme.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Yesterday zusammengebaut gave in their video some more infos: The Opening Of The Donuts Store will include a donuts store, a small toy shop, a crane, a taxi, a city coffee bike, (when you search for "city coffee bike" on ecosia.org, you'll find pics what that supposably shall be), TV team and police. The Fairground Minifigures Pack will include small versions of an ice cream stand, a shooting stand with stud shooter and three targets, a duck ring fishing stand with a new duck mould and a "Hau den Lukas". There'll be a clown on stilts. And the torsos will be very well fitting. I can't await to see some pics of these two sets from NY Toy Fair in 2,5 weeks! -
IF there was a Creator Expert Fairground set this year, then yes, I could well imagine this piece being used, @Lyichir.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you very much for the list, @Calunca! I already feared that the garage will be a Juniors / 4+ set - that's really a pity. In the Space sets I'm likely not interested since the main element for me - a space station (in space) is missing. Only case might be if the moon base was a realistic set (and not something like last year's ugly "Arctic" sets) - but that's unlikely. But I'm really looking forward to the fairground people pack and the donuts store and am excited about how the fire truck will look like. I hope not. But since there's a fairground themed set in the Creator theme (and the pirate roller coaster from last year is still available), I have to cancel my opinion that without a whole Fairground subtheme within the City theme, the fairground people pack would make no sense. It's strange that there isn't still any list of the sets of the second subtheme of summer - either Lego holds something new back or they keep their decision to the end. -
Thank you very much for the list, @Calunca! Fairground Manege sounds interesting. But Pet Shop & Café - yes, there's finally one building or perhaps even two in this one set for summer! The set name is Fairground Manege. So I can't imagine this set having to do something with horses. I searched for it in the net and found out that it can be everything related to a fairground. So we have to look what we're getting in this set. I'd count on some smaller rides.

Ideas 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Calunca's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for this list, @Calunca! I'm neither interested in the Flintstones set nor in the treehouse. But an Ideas set whith for the age 16+ sounds heavily to me like the realization of the piano since it's building technic for sure will afford some good building experience. The piano would be amazing! -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion

PrisonBrick posted following list: So it seems as if this year's WV set (10267) has the biggest piece count of all WV sets so far. But it doesn't give us a clue about what there'll be included or not even, how many buildings there'll be in this set since the WV Cottage had nearly the same piece count. Depending on whether there'll be only one building or two buildings included, I'd imagine the set price beeing between 100 and 150 Euros. What do you think? -
Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
No. And I bet that there won't be a train station as a regular set. Ok, the sets list isn't finished yet since there's missing the second subtheme for summer. But I bet that all regular sold civilian sets are already listed: the opening of the donuts store, fairground people pack, fire truck (4+ ?) and City garage (4+ ?). So the only chance I see for a train station is to be sold as one of the yearly exclusive City sets - but til we know them, there's already some months to wait. -
Thank you very much for the list, @PrisonBrick, and for clarifying what a Discovery is, @Johnmeel! So if 10266 was the Fairground set, then it will be a lot smaller (at least from the piece count) than all previous versions. But that would even make sense: Last year's roller coaster did cost a lot of money. So maybe TLG thought about it would be good for their fans to have one year to recreate their wallet. If - and I say if - there was a Fairground subtheme in the City line in summer, it could even be that we won't get any Creator Expert Fairground set this year. Like it was some years ago when there was (apart from the hotdog van) that horrible subtheme in the Friends line. Discovery could - and I say could - even mean something which has really to do with discovery - so e. g. a giant model of a space vehicle.

Brickset lists one of this year's Creator Expert sets as 10269 {Vehicle D2C set}. Since there's 10265 Car as an exclusive car and there for sure won't be another huge car model in the Creator Expert line in one year: Could it be that 10269 is a re-relase of 10194 Emerald Night - or much better a new train? Btw: I like the idea of a 3 in 1 Trains set, @Digger of Bricks! I could even imagine that a Creator Expert set contains three different options to build - like you mentioned with the set 10183 (which I personally don't like since it looks too rudimentary - but there days TLG would for sure design it much more accurate).
-
Excellent work, @vitreolum! The micro scale version looks very similar to the original, System scale version. (Which I really liked and still really like and with which and all other Western sets from 96-97 plus some Lone Ranger sets I'm building up a big diorama - I'll of course share it with you, but it needs much more time than I expected plus I don't have that much time that it comes fast to and end.) Do you plan to design some other Western sets in micro scale, too? If so, I really would like to see them.

That's a formidable MOC, Sirius91! The most I like the big barrels and the table in the middle with all the food and other details on it and the very well fitting face expressions of the monks. Perhaps it's only me, but although you described it quite well, it's a bit hard to imagine only from ready your description. Can you please post a picture from a barrel opened so we can see the technic? That would be quite nice since I planned to do build an old inn with a cellar with big barrels like yours. It will take some time. But when I'll show it here, I of course will mention that the building technic for the big barrels comes from you.

REVIEW: 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner
Klaus-Dieter replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for the great review, WhiteFang! I voted for outstanding since this is really a totally amazing set - that a great architecture, so many interior details, that much new food prints and so many cool minifigs! The only thing I don't like is that the long outer wall is that plain. It's really a shame that TLG sells all these Chinese New Year sets only in Asia and not all over the world!
