  1. We'll be back to Brickworld, one of these years, and it would be awesome to catch up with you again, dude. Both Phred and Robianco have answered, so I'll just say a little bit more: As Robianco indicated, there's a ton of stuff in the Events forum, and the information about the specific, official Eurobricks Event is held in a pinned index at the top of the forum. The sequence each year is Billund-Windsor-Billund-Günzburg-Billund-Windsor etc so we're in Billund every other year. Next year we'll be in Günzburg. CopMike and Holodoc put a lot of effort into organising fun games, social events and activities, along with often visiting unseen areas of LEGO. I'm scrimping on detail, but it's always great fun. Across the pond, as Phred has said, there's another huge contingent of EBers who go to Brickworld Chicago each year. That also has its own subforum pinned in the Events Forum. Many people (and many EBers) from around the world travel to Chicago to display and have a ton of fun, and the Eurobricks collaborative build has now won best group layout twice, most recently last year with a stunning and mind-blowing display involving giant snails. Like the European Event, it's also a great way to meet and socialise with fellow EBers from all over the planet.
  2. Not in Liverpool. The best way to achieve that goal is to get yourself to a Eurobricks event. I've been lucky enough to meet quite a few fellow EBers, and they're invariably excellent people. And EB events are not without libations. The rest of your post gives a very good summary of some of the challenges we all face, both staff and regular members.
  3. Access granted, welcome to the Reviewers Academy.
  4. Congratulations to all the builders for an incredible Group Display! You've all done us proud, and then some - way to represent Eurobricks! I've followed along with the build process and I am continually astonished at the sheer genius talent we have building in our team, and the creative and humorous buildings, vehicles and animals and scenes you've all come up with. We hope to rejoin you at a Brickworld some year soon.
  5. Explore the forums a bit more! In General Discussion we have this topic: Brickshelf up, down..who knows! a topic entirely devoted to the frequency with which Brickshelf is unavailable. So if you wait, then you will find that Brickshelf is probably working again (although it will probably fail again in the future) and you can post your pictures. This is a great example of where it would be better to go and read the Help indexes (and there are loads and they're easy to find) or browse the general forums and you'll find so much information - like how to get the right image extension, there's a recent topic about that, but you need to go and find it.
  6. It's so smooth and rounded, as is your style, it's lovely. It's a great idea, really well executed, especially the angling of the bread in the 'toaster' and the toast sign. As others have said, the rest of the scene is also really nicely done, making it vibrant and bringing your buildings to life. Really lovely.
  7. I've added a bunch more High Res pics to the first post, including the Party Store, Amusement Arcade/ Space Ride/ Hot Dog Stand/ Rollercoaster/ Bumper Cars, and of course the Performance School with that nice looking bus. There are also first look pictures of the new Juniors Friends sets, and with all these sets we have more pics on EB Town's flickr page.
  8. There's always a spot open, and we're always accepting new members; welcome to the Reviewers Academy.
  9. He's a cute little guy and he does make you smile, I can see how he might help broker peace. I hope he lives on, on a desk or a shelf somewhere.
  10. If you can access a public address for an image, then you can try that, but it sounds as though you've already tried and it hasn't worked, so I suspect you already have your answer. Please read my post here as it explains about how Eurobricks isn't an image hosting site, how to post images, where to go for help and all sorts of useful things.
  11. Nobody on the staff is going to discuss another member with you. I am sure you can understand why, and I'm sure you will also appreciate that should you ever be in the same position you would not want people discussing the matter without you. It is extremely unlikely he will see your reply. He may still get an e-mail notification at most, but he will not be able to reply to you. I am locking this. If you are dissatisfied, PM me.
  12. Good morning hadds87 and welcome to EB. I note that this is your first post here. I'm just going to remind you of the Site Guidelines, to which you agreed when you signed up this morning: We'd love you to make a topic showcasing your Red Dwarf MOC, and maybe embed some pictures. Within that topic, as the guidelines say, you can put a link to your ideas project, which you can also do in your signature.
  13. Traditionally the Friends sets are known for their detailed interiors, so I'd be amazed if there wasn't such an interior with this set.
  14. Those damn Norwegians! It was also freaking awesome! We are! Our group of four has three sets, one of which is missing that tile. So we're also missing another set. And we also didn't get the 1x8 Event bricks, somehow. A big thank you to Holodoc for all his incredible hard work in running the Event, and also to Bonaparte and CopMike for their fantastic involvement too, especially setting things up with the team at TLG. I'd also like to add a big thank you to 'Uncle' Jan and 'Uncle' Kim, who were absolutely superb with the kids! It's always great to see you guys, and you were wonderful to the little Pandufuses. Oh, and Amfenz.... BINGO!
  15. Hell yes. We're mostly packed, and really excited to see everyone again.
  16. Plasmo's! And the monorail! Loving the Star Wars celebrity squares vibe, and the Rancor working the Claw is fantastic! I wish I could see this in the brick to be able to appreciate it at its best (but loving your pics on flickr). Hats off completely, once again, to you and Tazzie for yet another amazing build, ISC. You are both incredible builders, and I'm glad you keep showing us that.
  17. I think think it's unlikely that either Ru or myself will be able to put anything together before the Event. Does it show your avatar singlehandedly preventing the export of any and all Belgian chocolate to the UK? Because that's pretty much the only reason I can think of. I am intrigued....
  18. Eurobricks member carebear has come up with a fantastical creation: A Friends-themed Airship! Come on over to the Town Forum and see how many details you can spot!
  19. This is fantastic, and insane, and wonderful! Friends meets Pirates, meets Steampunk with just a hint of Wacky Races. There are some absolutely delicious touches, like the extraneous dinosaurs and the LOTR eagle, and the wings on the little pink doors at the sides. There's a whole lot to like here and I am so pleased you shared it, thank you.
  20. This is the first time I have been online since before you posted this topic, so I am replying at the earliest opportunity with this post. Thank you for your PM, but your PM doesn't cover the evident gripe you have here, so as a result I will respond here. I'm not convinced you completely read what I originally wrote, so here it is again: A few points (most of which have already been made by my fellow staff members): Posts from staff members like myself asking members to pay attention to their spelling and grammar are very common; your case is not unusual. A considerable number of members of this site do not have English as their first language (including staff), which is why I acknowledged that in my post to you. Not once did I call you lazy. As has already been mentioned, we do not notify by PM on these occasions but instead we post in the thread. This is because other members often report these posts and it helps show that action has been taken. I think I have addressed this point, that we respond publicly. I fail to see how I wasn't polite. Nothing has been edited; as I've already said this is the first time I have been online since before you started this thread. Suggesting that there might be dishonesty here is a far more serious accusation, and one I will take further with you if you persist with it. Nothing has been edited, I am very uneasy about you persistently saying this. Again, this is my first occasion of being online since before you posted this topic. Your original question had been answered by another member. I stop by that topic in case I can help a member, saw your post and decided action was necessary, which is part of my role as a moderator of this site. We don't PM people about their problems in the 'Help' topic - that's not what we're here for and that's exactly what that topic is for, and we don't usually PM people about problems with grammar and spelling. The fact that several other staff members have posted in this thread should really make you think. If you still want to have a dialogue about this, I will take you somewhere private and you can speak to me and the staff as a whole.
  21. Hi JDL1967, could you please make sure you pay attention to spelling and grammar when you post, particularly capitalisation. I know you (probably) aren't a native English speaker, and we certainly don't expect posts to be perfect, but I know 'I' is capitalised in Dutch, for instance. Checkout our site guidelines (link right there, or in my sig, or via the tab at the top of the page) for the bottom line. Thank you.
  22. Actually, yes we can. We just consider it bad form to give oneself a title (unless there's a particularly good reason), so they are invariably a gift from another Mod/Admin. Quite a lot of us also like to make a fellow Mod/Admin's title slightly cryptic, so that an observer might wonder what could have possibly precipitated it. Don't forget the nifty little thread in Community where you can record your titles.
