  1. Happy Birthday Stash!! Have some cake, to go with your tea. Hope you have an awesome day, with some awesome people.
  2. "So long Blackpeg! " Nyx continues her hopping and grinning while working loose her arms muscles, not always visible beneath her Magely robes. "Right, which smelly Orc is next? I know, maybe all of you! Now if you could all stand still please, this might hurt a lot, but not for very long. " "Mac, care to double team with me on Orc A? I think now is a great time to try out my Explosive Staff, and I'll stand right next to you in the front row while I cast my Darkness magic. Gut him like a fish Mac! I want to see what he looks like on the inside. "
  3. A synonym is intimate (different inflection from intimate, as in one's intimate parts). Which is what I intended.
  4. Yes please! I have been looking forward to this. 1) A few games, even won some but died lots too, and hosted one (you were in it, TPRU ) and now hosting a Mafia School game. 2) I'm not allowed to go anywhere, I'm chained to the Mafia forum until Police Infiltration is done. Possibly longer.. 3) It seems that views on Norse gods are varied across the interwebs, but my playstyle is to (usually) be cautious, guarded and secretive. Research would suggest that this would fit with the goddess Vör, who is "the careful one", and possibly aspects of Hel, who I believe is "one who covers up or hides something".
  5. Jack Stone, the Kirksville town Chief of Police, was having a bad day. Things had been good for the last few years as his dedicated police force had worn down the criminal element of Kirksville but lately it had become clear that the Mafia were growing increasingly frustrated with their falling profits. It had started with someone cutting off the heads of his prize blooms in his rose garden... had escalated through the flattening of his pet cat Tinckles (left carefully wrapped with a bow on his doorstep)... and then culminated in a near miss only a week ago when the brakes were cut on his police car. Fortunately he discovered this pulling up to the donut shop, so his crash was cushioned somewhat by jam, custard and chocolate frosting, but it was a clear message nonetheless. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chief Jack Stone sits pondering the clear attempts on his life when there is a knock at the door... “Ah, good, I’m glad you’re here” says Jack, but that’s as much he is able to say as the person in front of him shoots him, point blank, in the head. Jack Stone, the Chief of Police is dead. The mafia have begun their campaign to take over the Police, and thus the town of Kirksville, and only the loyal Police workers can stand in their way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The shot rings out around the police station, an unmistakable sound, yet the heinous crime somehow goes completely unwitnessed. A phonecall is made, maybe by a concerned citizen or maybe by a loyal police worker, nobody knows, and within the hour two figures arrive at the police station. Chief Inspector Poppy and Special Agent Randy push open the large doors to the police station and step inside, quietly locking the doors behind them and pocketing the keys. The station seems to be buzzing as normal, with people just carrying on, not knowing what else to do, and so Randy and Poppy decide to have a look around. "Let's go... this way" suggests Poppy "These confiscated weapons look like they've been here for ages!" notes Poppy "Yeah, and the lock on the cells looks like it's just for show; I don't think it actually works." states Randy, examining the cell door with keen eyes It's breaktime for some workers; no-one wants to really acknowledge their boss is dead, because then they might have to clean it up. "Hmm, well at least they all have a varied diet and plenty of food here." Poppy observes "Yeah and there's a great view from up here!" grins Randy "Well, everyone seems hard at work." says Randy "Yeah, do you think we should make ourselves more obvious?" Poppy replies "Ahh-he-he-hem!" Randy clears his throat loudly None of the station's inhabitants have left for fear of incriminating themselves. Those on the uppermost floor call down to gather every single person in the station, and they congregate around the newcomers and wait to hear what they have to say. “I am your replacement Chief of Police” announces Poppy “and I have been assigned to this station by Headquarters, with my first task being to get to the bottom of this awful crime. This gentleman is my good friend Special Agent Randy of the KIA; we… happened to be engrossed in our weekly chessmatch when I got the call, and he has clearance from the highest of the high in the KIA to also root out the deepseated evil here.” “Indeed” says Randy, continuing where Poppy left off “we have reason to believe the perpetrators of this crime are none other than the Kirksville Mafia, and furthermore, we believe they have insinuated their way into this police station over a long period of time.” “With that in mind,” says Poppy, taking up the thread “every single one of you is under suspicion. We believe most of you are good and honest people, if occasionally a little misguided in your life choices, but we know some of you are scum!” “Nobody is leaving here until the Mafia have been rooted out.” Randy states emphatically “Every day you will present someone to us for interrogation, for fun we’ll call it ‘lynching’, and each day you must discuss the problem at hand with the highest priority. Be warned, though, it’s likely that the scum will wish to kill people at night. One way or another they will be revealed, even if only as the last people standing…” “Now” says Poppy with a smile of steel “somebody clear up that awful mess in my office, and somebody else get me a goddamn coffee!” The station’s inhabitants, knowing that they won’t be able to leave the station until the situation is concluded, mooch off and start discussing what to do next… The Rules Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Mafia. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Mafia, while the Mafia needs to outnumber the Town. Third-Party (neutral) characters, if any, have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will usually last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game host. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. Also, you may not quote PMs from other players. Paraphrasing is allowed but no direct quoting. Please refrain from quoting PMs in the game threads and in private. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread; you must always play the role given to you. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. You may not edit your posts. You must post in every day thread. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the hosts via PM. Violation of the above rules will result in a vote penalty of half the required majority against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Violation of rule 7 will have a heavier penalty, made at the discretion of the Games Moderator. Role PMs All players have been sent a Role PM in the following format. Characters Non-Playing Characters Poppy, Chief Inspector and new Chief of Police, played by Pandora Randy, Special Agent of the KIA, played by Rick Players Adam, Motorcycle Cop, played by badboytje88 Adam is a Motorcycle Cop who rides hard and hits hard. If you get pulled over for speeding by him, he’ll make sure you cooperate. If not, you’ll spend at least one night in a police cell. He’s particularly hard on joy riders, who he’ll lock up and ‘talk to’ until they honestly tell him their age. Amelia, Desk Sergeant, played by TheBoyWonder Amelia is a Desk Sergeant. While she’s keen to be an active Police Officer, she’s incredibly scatterbrained and forgetful, and often even forgets which cells criminals are in. Fortunately it would seem that the worst consequence of her forgetfulness so far has been that a notorious gangster who ordered roasted pigeon with potatoes for his Christmas meal last year got fish and chips instead. Andrea, Secretary to the Chief of Police, played by PsyKater Andrea used to be a member of the Police SWAT team, but is currently the Secretary to the Chief of Police. Several years ago, members of a Mafia gang on the run lead her unit into a forest. When it came to a gunfight between the gang and her unit, she stood paralyzed, afraid to fire her gun. After countless sessions with the Police Psychiatrist, it was decided a desk job suited her better. Christine, Coffee Lady, played by konze Christine is supposed to make sure the Police Officers of Kirksville get their coffee and tea every morning and afternoon, and to provide liberal amounts of homemade buns. However, come teatime, she is typically nowhere to be found and the Police Officers have resorted to getting their own coffee and tea instead of putting up with her sarcastic attitude and dry pastries. Rumour has it she sleeps somewhere at the police station as no one knows where she lives, and no one has ever seen her go home. Gary, Bomb Disposal Officer, played by Adam Gary is an enthusiastic Bomb Disposal Officer, however his skill with bombs often doesn’t match his enthusiasm and he has suffered a number of work-related mishaps as a result. He really enjoys the sound of bombs going off, though, and ever since the department acquired a bomb disposal robot, Gary spends his days remote-controlling “Gary Jr.”. Henrietta, Undercover Cop, played by Masked Builder Henrietta may look like a girl from the mean-streets, but she’s actually the most dedicated Undercover Cop in the Police Force. She’s spent so much time infiltrating the seedy underworld of Kirksville that she’s sometimes barely recognisable as a Police Officer. In fact, she’s so good at her job that maybe she sometimes forgets she actually is a Police Officer. Ian, Lawyer, played by TazManiac Ian is a Senior Partner at Blutgeld & Sons Legal Firm, and the nature of his legal practice necessitates him spending almost all of his time at the local Police Station. He can often be found here, arguing vehemently for his clients and using whatever means necessary to win his cases. He believes passionately in his own skills as a lawyer and won’t stop arguing until everyone believes his version of ‘the truth’. Isaac, Janitor, played by TrumpetKing67 Isaac makes sure the entire Police Station is always spotless. Light bulbs get replaced before they even burn out and even the criminals spending a night at the station compliment him on the cleanliness of their cells, or at least they would, if they ever saw him or knew who he was. He’s an exceptionally quiet man who keeps himself to himself and is rarely seen. Before the brutal murder of Police Chief Jack Stone, he had never been heard to speak. Jared, Beat Cop, played by Ferrik Jared keeps Kirksville safe by pounding its streets as a Beat Cop. Due to his tendency to want to arrest nearly everyone he sees, his commanding officers have insisted he patrol with a colleague at all times to keep his paranoia at bay. Everywhere Jared turns, he sees another criminal, or another crime, and his colleagues are beginning to feel he’s on a bit of a witch hunt. Jean, Local Bum, played by Endgame Jean has become part of the furniture at the police station, as he seems to spend so much time there. Since his wife left him over a decade ago, he’s been roaming the streets of Kirksville in search of the perfect drink, or perhaps something shiny. In order to scrounge enough money together to buy a few bottles of ale to keep him warm at night, he commits petty crimes, but often forgets what he’s doing halfway through the crime and wanders off, making him an easy pick-up for the Patrol Cars. Kendra, Beat Cop, played by Stormblessed Kendra is another of Kirksville’s Beat Cops and nobody knows exactly where she is from or how she ended up in Kirksville. She talks in an often near-incomprehensible dialect, yet all of her colleagues somehow manage to understand her perfectly. Despite being in numerous dangerous situations, she always manages to survive, and she has received multiple hero of the year awards, however these were mostly for rescuing cats. Mark, Team Leader Vice Squad, played by JaseTJ Mark is the Team Leader for the Vice Squad and is extremely dedicated to his job. So dedicated, in fact, that he has been known to completely lose himself in his work. The rumours are that as a result of his dedication he may indulge in the very vice he strives to combat and as a result of this apparent excess he has become a somewhat emotional, dramatic and impulsive kind of guy. Phil, Detective, played by Scorpiox Phil is a Detective and a real workaholic. Once he takes on a case he’ll spend hours on end hunting for clues and interrogating his suspects; he won’t ever take any of their statements at face value. He’ll work overtime until he connects the dots and cracks a case, and fears no one and nothing that might stand in his way. Frogs tend to freak him out, though. Phyllis, Beat Cop, played by Superficial Username Phyllis is another of Kirksville’s Beat Cops. She works tirelessly at her job, but has always really longed for romance. Unfortunately she’s never really had a serious relationship, at least not with a real person. She’s started talking to the coffee machine that was installed a couple of months ago, and they spend more and more time together every day. Phyllis has fallen deeply in love with the machine and believes unshakably in its affections for her. She’s already making plans for their marriage next Summer. Samantha, Local 'Masseuse', played by DarthPotato Sammiieee, as he/she’s known to his/her ‘clients’, is a man trapped in a woman's body and is very well know around the town of Kirksville. Extremely well known, in fact, as his/her little black book can attest. He/She works tirelessly to keep his/her many clients satisfied (and he/she does keep them so very satisfied), but unfortunately, his/her methods of keeping the citizens of Kirksville entertained are not strictly legal and as a result Samantha finds himself/herself spending more nights in the cells than... anywhere else. Zachary, Forensic Officer, played by zakura Zachary is Kirksville Police Station’s Forensic Officer and he has a reputation for being a bit of a wacko. He often uses unconventional investigative techniques to get to the bottom of the cases assigned to him, but rarely do they pay off. His colleagues respect his ‘cutting edge’ techniques, even if they find them totally bonkers (and possibly a bit silly), however they had to draw the line at his last theory where he hypothesised that he could detect criminals by their breakfast. It’s a well-known fact that everyone in Kirksville has sausages for breakfast.
  6. Just a reminder guys, so that the other players can easily remember who you each are, be sure to put your character's name in your signature. Information on how to do this was contained in your role PM, or click the links to tutorials in my signature. Thank you.

  8. Nyx hops up and down a bit as Buggerer quite literally hits the deck. Her grin widens as Mac slices and dices the smelly rat, and with Boomingham and the ex-paladins forming an impenetrable wall of defence, she maintains her dancey-stance in the front row. "Mac, thank you for ridding us of the rat, certainly an impressive show of steel, sir. May I now direct your attentions to Slaver Orc E? I think he would benefit from the judicious application of your cutlass. I shall take the advantage to use my talents against Blackpeg. He seemed to enjoy my Darkness magic, and I seem to have gotten to grips with this Fishywishystick."
  9. Thanks guys; there'll be a proper confirmation thread when the game starts. We'd just like a couple more players in order to start the game, so thanks to everyone who's shown interest so far, and hopefully we'll get those additional players.
  10. OoC: Actually, my Critical Hit does x3WP

  12. Sorry Scuba, but I calculate my damage to Blackpeg to be 241 as I used my fishy fishy Fishstick (WP 14 on a boat). Nyx's pout softens as Boomingham patches her up, and she finds she just can't stay mad at him, for now at least. "I don't know how you do it, Larry" she laughs "but you always somehow manage to calm me down. Of course I'd be delighted to join you in attacking Buggerer; one good spell from me would finish him off, and I'd suggest putting me before you for that reason, but you should be counterstriking too, so I'm fine where I am. I'm sure my Darkness magic won't go to waste, one way or another." Nyx keeps hold of her Fishysticky and steps forward to the Front row, in case she manages to throw a good punch. "Mac, would you mind terribly if I asked you to attack that revolting Rat? He's even smellier than the pirates, and I'm starting to get a headache. " Mac joins Nyx's side in the front row, slashing his cutlass at the vermin.
  13. Thank you, Hinck, for inviting me to play. I had lots of fun while it lasted, but I died at a point where I was only just starting to build alliances behind the scenes. The game was hilarious, punctual and beautifully presented, and while 'being Marylin' was a little difficult at times, I very much enjoyed role-playing as a goat and eating random objects. Whatever the outcome from the ongoing discussion, I would like to say well played to the scum, and of course to Draggy (whether he be considered scum or not ). Cornelius!! You killed me!!! *shakes fist* Why on earth did you think I was the serial killer?? As if I'd ever go around killing innocent Townies! Oh and thank you again to Eskallon for protecting me night two, otherwise I'd have been decapitated a night earlier it seems!
  14. "Thank you for the heal Larry, there's no end to your talents it seems. Mr Skrall, I think I'd better take on Blackpeg this round and maybe one of those healy people can patch you up? Don't worry, I'm sure I'll save some for you. " "Mac, could you carry on with bothering Orc B where I left off? As you were, front row, cutlass etc. It's lucky you're... lucky, really." Feeling much better from Boomingham's attention, Nyx turns to face the large Blackpeg, grinning despite the obvious size difference. With a gleam in her eye, she summons up some Darkness magic from the back row, just for him once more using her fishy Fishstick.
  15. Happy Birthday dude! A search for 'Bossk Cake' yields this as the best result, so it'll have to do. At least it's chocolate cake. May you have many strangely-coloured alcoholic beverages!
  16. "Firstly, ow! And secondly, OW!" Nyx shoots Boomingham a fierce glare before loosening her shoulders and flexing her neck, ready for the oncoming round. Taking a deep breath, she once more summons Darkness magic from the back row, but this time aims it at Slaver Orc B whilst keeping tight hold of her fishy Fishstick. Mac mumbles more prayers to his gods and moves to attack Bosun with his cutlass from the front row.
  17. Nyx doesn't know whether to be flattered or offended by the Ogre's remarks, and so settles for feeling a little of both. "I wasn't planning to hit him with my face Mr Skrall, but actually inflict dark agony on him. Uhm, thank you, I think.. but if you're feeling chivalrous, you could also take my place in the current battle order, in fact, Larry dear - don't you wish to have counterstriking people at the top of the battle order, rather than me? They're just going to punch me for no good reason, and you know that puts me in a bad mood." Nyx steps back into the back row, and begins to summon Darkness magic to hurl at Barnacle through her fishy Fishstick, whilst motioning for Mac to attack Slaver Orc C from the front row.
  18. This really is fantastic! The movement, the lighting, the coordination and the detailing - it's all so, so good. You really took an essence of the video and turned it into a professional-looking LEGO video for the song. Just fantastic.
  19. I could have sworn I was called Gibson. *chews ethereal lamp post*
  20. Nyx looks around expectantly and sees.... nothing. A look of worry flashes across her face, but not wishing another argument, she says nothing about it. "Larry dear, you know there's nothing I like more than fighting with you. Not with you, but.. you know.. with you. Anyway, considering Buggerer looks to be a bit of a heavy hitter that nobody will really want to tango with later, I rather thought I'd start cutting him down to size. Especially if Atters is going to use that flail of his first. And Mac, if we make it through all of this, come find me in Eubric and I'll buy you a Flaming Gumball. Reckon you could have a go at Bumboo for me?" Nyx steps forwards to the front row for a change, and slowly looks Buggerer up and down before preparing a Darkness spell to cast, this time through her Explosive Staff, hoping for the right conditions to cut all the Orcs down to size. Mac meanwhile, buoyed by the idea of a free drink, jabs his cutlass at Bumboo from the front row. OoC Is Mac a minion? Would he be hastened by the Monkey Bar if I equipped it?
  21. "There's an orc called Bastard? Have we missed one? Ooohh, you mean hiiim. Specifically. Riiight. Gotcha."
  22. That's good, right? At least she's my character. I don't, however, have much of a tendency to punch people or set them on fire.
  23. Satisfied that she had wrought a decent amount of pain on Barnacle, Nyx nods at Skrall's suggestion. "I think it's my turn to have a go at old Blackpeg here; he looks like he could use my utmost... attention. Atramor, while you're on a poisoning and weakening trip, could you also at some point aim at Blackpeg too? He's got quite a bit of health and a decent amount of defence, so it'd make my frying of his pain receptors that much easier." Nyx turns to Blackpeg "Ever been slapped very hard in the face with a wet salmon? One that's been infused with the darkest of Darkness magics? No? Wanna find out what it feels like, Blackpeg? " Nyx begins to summon her Darkness magics at Blackpeg from the back row, through her Fishstick, meanwhile Mac mutters something about his father and once more twirls his cutlass at Bosun from the front row.
  24. Thanks for the funny review, CloneyO - this is one of the few Friends polybags I've not managed to see up close yet, so it's great to have a closer look. I'm surprised it's being sold at the moment (especially amongst the halloween LEGO) as it looks much more like a Valentine set to me; hearts, flowers, sweets and a pink mailbox certainly suggest that. The nice thing about the polybags (as you've discovered) is that they're an easy way to get your hands on a Friends minidoll, and some nice parts sometimes too. I would agree, though, that there are probably more interesting Friends polybags available. I hope Ginny forgives you sometime soon!
