Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Pandora replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: I thought I could equip a third accessory? There's the Parasol, the Robe and now the Monkey Bar. Is that not the case? I thought over level 20 we got three? Apologies if I have it wrong. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Pandora replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nyx stretches her arms and loosens her shoulders, ready. She makes sure she's carrying her Book, expecting trouble, and equips her Monkey Bar in her third accessory slot, just in case Edgar pops up. That done, she follows the others through the doorway. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job

Nyx rests her hand on Boomingham's arm, worried that her anger, now dissipating, had somehow affected him. "Thanks.. uhm.. Dad." She smiles concernedly at Boomingham before turning to Atramor and speaking calmly and, she hopes, more gently. "You may borrow my Explosive Staff, but please, it means... a lot to me, so treat it with care and return it to me when I ask, even if that is before you feel done with it. I doubt that you will be able to hex with it, as it only responds to physical use, but it should help you spread your poison. Treat it with respect and as if it breathes, because it may bite back." Nyx waits to hear Atramor's assent to her terms before handing over her staff. -
Mafia School: Police Infiltration - Day Five
Pandora replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Day Five Interlude The Station's inhabitants have stepped up the discussion, and today there's analysis and accusations are flying. Randy and Poppy, happy that true discussion is now taking place, wander off... "All this running a Police Station stuff is pretty tiring" says Poppy as they head for the bunk beds "Yeah" says Randy "and we do seem to spend half the night dragging dead bodies around. I think we've earned a lie down, it's your turn to go on top, right?" "What the hell!" exclaims Poppy "What? What have I said now?" replies Randy "No, look at all that water" comes Poppy's reply "Oh my" says Randy "is that what I think it is?" "Yeah" replies Poppy shrugging "it's a ruddy great crocodile that's inexplicably crawled out of the toilet. Shut the door, would you?" "Done, so... where now? Your office?" You may now vote. With 6 players remaining, 4 votes are required for a lynch. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Pandora replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nyx is still glaring at Atramor after his 'performance' in the Dockmaster's, and as they leave she grabs him by the collar and growls into his ear, loud enough only for him to hear, but with enough menace to make her meaning plain. "You pull that kind of rubbish again and I really will punch you so hard you'll be wearing that silly smirk of yours on the other side of your face." Nyx breathes deeply as if trying to calm herself, pushes Atramor away, and begins to smooth down her robes. She looks up again, control etched into her face. "You want my Explosive Staff? What can you do with it that I cannot? I use it on occasion, most likely when Greybeard here raises his shield, because, if I get the opportunity to unleash both sides of my character, I can return to inflicting my... skills on multiple enemies. If there is a good reason for you to borrow it, then I shall consider it." Nyx looks to Boomingham for strength, the fury is boiling up inside and threatening to tear her apart, and possibly those around her. She just needs... control. -
It is late at night and Kendra is walking through the hallway admiring some of her awards.. "Ah, mine awards are of kindness!" she smiles to herself "with these at my strongest side I am feel ready to fight!" But she hears a sound behind her! "No!" she shouts "for it is because I have shining award for running faster! Aha!" And she runs... but the dark figure runs too... ...and predictably catches her, and slices off her head in a clean swoop, before running off into the night. ~~~~~~~~~~ Later that night Poppy and Randy are bringing Adam's corpse down in the elevator... "Oh dear" says Poppy "we have another one after this" "Right you are" replies Randy "I'll fetch the mop... Again" Randy once more makes his phonecall, while Poppy makes sure all the bits of bodies are accounted for... ~~~~~~~~~~ The following morning the Stationers have gathered in the canteen for breakfast... "Enjoy it while you can" says Randy "your numbers are dwindling fast" "I guess we should make some announcements while you're eating" says Poppy, waving her coffee mug around "First off" says Randy "it turns out that Adam was actually a loyal member of the Town" There are a few gulps, but that might be the sausages "And secondly" continues Poppy "Kendra was brutally murdered last night, and she too was a loyal member of the Town" Randy and Poppy decide to say nothing more; they've already said all they can say and it's once more up to the Stationers... The Rules Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Mafia. To win the game, the Town must kill off all the Mafia, while the Mafia needs to outnumber the Town. Third-Party (neutral) characters, if any, have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will usually last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game host. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. Also, you may not quote PMs from other players. Paraphrasing is allowed but no direct quoting. Please refrain from quoting PMs in the game threads and in private. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread; you must always play the role given to you. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. You may not edit your posts. You must post in every day thread. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the hosts via PM. Violation of the above rules will result in a vote penalty of half the required majority against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Violation of rule 7 will have a heavier penalty, made at the discretion of the Games Moderator. Role PMs All players have been sent a Role PM in the following format. I am not about to bring attention to your leaks, however they are unfortunately visible for all to see. I would agree with this sentiment. Even if people aren't wanting to vote, wouldn't it be nice to have their opinions on Hervi before the morning? There's absolutely no reason for anyone to be shy about saying what they think right now, surely? Uhm, who's the 'You' you're referring to here? Could you clarify a little? Do you think we're making a mistake, or are you saying something else? In the meantime, to ease the tension, I'm going to go and blow stuff up with my Byzantine Alchemistry set. And then maybe set fire to some stuff too.
-
I don't think it's any surprise that I will vote: Hervi Pudding-Head (Hinckley), just as I did yesterday and for the same reasons and more that I've already outlined. There's a lot I could respond to, but I won't Hervi. At the very least you're leaking information faster than a broken sieve and you're a liability any way you look at it.

Thanks for sharing those pics Legobrandon- I've put them in the first post and in the Friends Hub for easy reference. There are lots of interesting parts here, for instance the recurrence of the playing cards tile, a basket ball hoop, the medium lavender basket, the slide and trans dark-blue slopes. The last, larger set is very reminiscent of Paradisa to me, but I'm also glad to have some non-stereotypically girly pastimes for the Friends. It's nice to see some new Friends in Isabella and Joanna, but I agree, there do really need to be more boys/ male characters.

We are doing well to have already gotten rid of two Servants, however it comes at a heavy cost. Their deaths do serve to provide us with some information, so we should respect their passing and not ignore the clues they might have left behind. The events of the night are curious; we are shown what happens to Gofraid before he dies, and firstly those actions imply he has a night action (and Hervi attests that this was indeed the case) and secondly that he was prevented from using such action (evidently killing, what with it being a hulking-great spear and everything and him talking about killing his target). So why are we shown this? We didn't see what Jormund was up to the night he died, and given he was scum surely he would have been up to something, right? The dark figure legging it down the hallway seems to be slightly different from either of the other dark figures seen last night - he has a hood but no cape. Is this perhaps a suggestion of a second faction? I know the artist's impressions of the night's events are not meant to be taken completely seriously, but I do wonder why we were shown it at all. It is also evident that Gofraid didn't use his action night one, and given he was a vigilante he may not have been compelled to do so (unlike a serial killer who is compelled, but we know he wasn't that because he was shown to be loyal). If he weren't compelled, then he wouldn't have been seen attempting his kill (by any tracker or watcher type), so, aside from being a fearless and fearful warrior, it would seem the motive for his murder would be someone knowing he was the vig because he told them. (Yes Hervi, I'm still looking at you.) There are other possibilities, such as his target being protected (it would be remarkable for a vig target to be also targeted by a town protector - the profiles of those two targets would be very different) but he couldn't have been blocked (unless by the scum, which would suggest they knew something about him) as Artemis, the unusual investigator, was apparently blocked night one. Role-cop is perhaps another possibility, but would the scum have had a reason to investigate him night one? It is also quite remarkable that Gofraid was not only killed but blocked last night. To have attracted the attention of two ill-meaning vikings on the same night is unfortunate at best and highly suspicious at worst. It does rather imply that the scum suspected he was likely to target one of their own and made sure he couldn't get his kill in before he died at their hands, which makes me further think it was someone who knew exactly what his role was. Chief Mursi... hmm, I was a little surprised to see him declared loyal in that rather ultimate way. We know he wasn't killed by the servants of Loki (the same killer killed a servant night one) but he's a very odd choice for a serial killer kill. A very odd choice indeed, but a fairly logical scum kill. And that makes me wonder if either the serial killer has already teamed up with the scum and is doing their bidding, or if it isn't a serial killer at all and is another faction, although another faction wouldn't have know Mursi was town. It's a bit early in our ordeal for the SK to have already found the scum and agree to work with them, but I find the possibility of a second scum faction distracting at the moment. It is certainly something to consider, though. Knowing now that Gerrid was scum, and looking back on her actions, I find it interesting to note that part of the reason she was suspected in the first place (by Finn and Gofraid) was her voting behaviour on day one. She was happy to hide by voting for Danr, or happy to hide by not voting at all, but she certainly was not happy to hide by placing her vote on Bergulf. And having said that she didn't want to defend anyone as nobody she thought was town had been accused, she made a lot of supportive points for Hervi at the time she voted for Dragmall - how it didn't sound like something the scum would do, it's too audacious (I'm paraphrasing) and Hervi's been a piggly-fiddler long enough to know better, that sort of thing. For someone who was known to hide, she made quite a bit of a song and dance about this. Either that or she didn't truly believe Hervi to be town. Frankly, today I'd be willing to vote out either Hervi or Bergulf as I think they're both scummy as hell. I think that Hervi is a far greater threat to the town, especially as the world and his pig seems to have claimed to him and irrationally trusted him from day one, but really I'm not fussed about the order as long as they both get lynched. We are now lacking in a vigilante to help us out at night, so our lynch is even more important.

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Pandora replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Yes, no, I'm here. I was just admiring that guy's robe, it's very pretty, just like mine. Probably why he knew I was a Mage, but he's a Mage too, so that might have something to do with it. Should I go and punch a few people? You know, just to throw them off the whole 'Mage' thing? Actually, I'd probably end up being arrested, so maybe not. Should I growl? Pull a more barbaric and fierce face?" Nyx screws up her face into something resembling 'barbaric' or 'fierce'. "No, that's really uncomfortable, I'm not doing that. Oh, sorry, is this not about me? Uhm, yes we should stick together and go and investigate both the Dockmaster and Mortimer, and probably in that order. And Greybeard, try to remember my name's Lyssa, dear. " -
Mafia School: Police Infiltration - Day Four
Pandora replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Day Four Interlude It's lunchtime and Randy and Poppy are grabbing a bite to eat, while other Stationers are considering the events of the day so far, and of the previous days. "Aaaachooo!" Poppy sneezes "Are you ok? You're not feeling unwell are you?" asks Randy concernedly "Nah, I'm fine" replies Poppy "just too much pepper on my sandwich." "Oh, ok." replies Randy "It's a significant day today, isn't it?" he continues rhetorically "mm-hmm" agrees Poppy munching on her sandwich "What with only half of them left now..." he says, looking around. You may now vote; with 8 players remaining, 5 votes are needed for a conviction. Vote Tally Christine (konze): 2 votes (2 penalty votes) Phil (Scorpiox): 2 votes (2 penalty votes) In accordance with Rule 12, vote penalties of half the required majority have been incurred by konze and Scorpiox for violation of Rule 8 and Rule 9, respectively. -
The station is eerily quiet; not much is happening. Ian has been cooped up so long in the Police Station that his papers have been piling up for him to read, so he sits down with a mug of cocoa and leafs through his briefs. "This is ridiculous" he mutters to himself "anyone can pick a hole in that flimsy argument, they must be either a criminal or very silly" he carries on muttering as a dark figure appears behind him, poised to strike. "Oh.." is all Ian manages to utter before his head is severed from his sharply suited body. Blood gushes and oozes all over his important legal documents, but Ian won't be needing them any longer. As is now traditional, the deadly black figure scampers off into the night. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Once more Poppy and Randy are awake in the middle of the night, and have gathered the corpses for collection. "Just two tonight, eh Randy?" says Poppy "Yeah" replies Randy as he dials a number on his phone "and you shot one of them. In the face." "Yup" says Poppy "indeed I did" And once Randy has called in the pick-up, the two return back inside the station to pass the time until morning. The following morning people are stretching out a bit, finding they have a bit more space in the general office. "Ok" starts Poppy "Randy's had the call, and we have some news for you about Henrietta." "Yes, it's true" continues Randy "Henrietta was indeed a bored divorceé." The crowd gasp theatrically "Furthermore, I can reveal that Henrietta was also a member of the Kirksville Town" adds Randy, to yet more gasps "And I'm sure some of you will have noticed Ian's absence from this morning's gathering" says Poppy, as muttering from the crowd confirmed they had noticed and some were a bit concerned about it. "He too was an innocent and loyal Townie, and we know this because he was found dead last night." Poppy finishes "Slowly but surely the scum are killing you off, so if you're going to make a stand, now's a good time to do so." says Randy "We've told you how to do it and what to look out for, but now you just need to put it into practice to succeed." "And if you don't" states Poppy "I'll shoot you myself" The Rules Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Town or the Mafia. I very clearly was not. I have already said that Artemis (again, if she exists) is a bloody fool for contacting an unconfirmed viking such as you, so why on earth would I think it's a good idea to contact another unconfirmed viking (ie me)? My behaviour may seem that way to you, but anyone can go back and read what I actually said, and we only have your word that the other people who can confirm Artemis's existence exist. Would you like to give us a few more code names of more people who can confirm the existence of the people who can confirm the existence of Artemis? And you accuse me of twisting words, seriously You're still grumpy I called you out yesterday. All those things that didn't add up. Especially the bit where you finally managed to give a firm opinion about Bergulf (that you thought he was scummy) and then that all seems to have been forgotten even after Danr showing up as town. No push to 'get the one who got away', nope, just a play about nothing (certainly nothing the hall at large needed to hear about) with a tagged on accusation at the end, based on meta-physical game-theory. You were very keen to point out no matter what that you thought Danr was right, even though you thought Bergulf is scummy. Add to that the speech made by Bergulf earlier that frankly sounds like it fell from your lips, not his. I think you were right about Bergulf being coached by his scum team (see how your opinion of him was difficult to pin down?) because you were part of the scum team coaching him. Nice face, by the way. You can say it as much as you like, but it still won't make it true, and anyone can see that. Because you thought Bergulf was town too? But you also said..? Gah, you can see how a viking can get confused by your flip-flopping around. I asked you to say once and for all, and you said you thought he was scummy, so how come you agreed with Danr's defense? Yeah, Bergulf couldn't possibly be scum, because he acted like he always did. Another tacit defense of Bergulf (and how long until you start using 'tacit' in your speeches to try to charm me?) just like day one. Except Bergulf was transiently a completely different viking today, thanks to the speech you wrote for him. Poor hard-working Hervi. You have indeed worked hard, I just don't believe it's for the good of the town. Noooo, you would still be suspicious pig-boy, and I don't want to know who Artemis is (I'm sure I just covered this), and I quite clearly didn't ask that. Yes! Why would you randomly tell us about a kooky night action that might be true or not, and yet could be verified by you privately and then used to help us instead of alerting the scum to its existence? Whyyyy?? Uhm, quite easily actually. And if I say something about most of us not knowing (possibly all of us, really) who the aliases are and just assuming there are aliases out there... somewhere, I'm sure you'll accuse me of asking them to come forward and reveal themselves. (I'm not, before anyone sticks their hand up and outs themself). Aww, thanks. I'm smart but disappointing, just what I was aiming for. Can you just confirm for the stenographer whether you believe Dragmall is neutral or scum? And also, you seem to be completely unconcerned that someone who is as inexperienced (presumably) as 'Artemis' as to role-claim to you on day one is also the same sort of person who would attract a blocker the very night after doing so (on night one, no less). The fact that he/she/it was conveniently blocked is fishy as hell, but the fact that this doesn't concern you is a damn-sight fishier. And you're the only person we know that knew of her/his role.
-
Yeah, that's pretty much what I was saying. Anyone claiming to an unconfirmed player on Day One is a fool. Unless the former is scum, in which case it's just risky (and probably still foolish), or they happen to be a day investigator, which is evidently not so from your play, piggy-fiddler, and even if it were the case it would still be risky given the possibility of Godfathers. Far-fetched maybe not, but bloody stupid certainly. As has already been pointed out, we can't assess this without knowing who this person is, and we're not likely to know who this person is, because (assuming they even exist, does anyone else know if they do?) we don't want them outed publicly. Uhm, if he's neutral, as has been claimed, he still wouldn't be sure if Hervi's scum or town. So yes, he might know he's not on the same side as Hervi piggy-fiddler if he's neutral (which is the claim Hervi's making), but he'd still be reticent if he thought there was a possibility Hervi might be town, surely? Aaaand back to saying very little again after being so... eloquent... earlier. And as has been said, the claim is that he's neutral, not scum. There are a number of conveniences here, which worry me somewhat. Steinvoir's death, a not very useful or revealing play (which pretty much told us "Hey, someone claimed to me with this role, without knowing anything else, do you think they're scum? Oh and by the way someone else claimed to be neutral.") but also some mutterings in private. Hervi, you were pinging my scumdar big-time yesterday, and a lot of what you're saying today doesn't add up either (as others have already pointed out). I'm ready to vote: Hervi Pudding-Head Piggy-Fiddler (Hinckley) unless there's a flaming good reason not to. Now this is a rather interesting question. I know of a few people who keep logs, including someone I spoke to in that thar tavern only a few days ago who mentioned to me that he keeps logs of all the time he is in the tavern. So how did Dragmall end up with them, unless someone was trying to help him? There are two people I can think of, one of whom is confirmed town (no prizes for guessing who that is), and one who very much isn't. So where did the logs come from; or rather, from whom? Would anyone care to share?

Mafia School: Police Infiltration - Day Three
Pandora replied to Rick's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Day Three Conclusion Poppy and Randy gather all the Stationers together to see what decisions they've made. "So," says Poppy, waving her gun around absent mindedly "what have you learnt today?" "Indeed" continues Randy "which of you has been selected for interrogation?" There is a small amount of murmuring from the assembled masses "Well... we were just talking about that.." mutters someone "Oh" says Poppy "and what conclusion did you reach?" "Uhm, well, we were just talking about that too" mutters someone else "So have you made a decision or not then? asks Randy frowning "So, the thing is... we were just talking about it, and uhm, well, no, we haven't" mutters someone else "Okay" says Poppy sighing "talking is good, great even, and you certainly need to talk more" "Yes, but at the end you have to reach some sort of conclusion" says Randy "You won't lynch a member of the Mafia if you don't lynch at all" "...." is the deafening response "Oh well" says Randy "it looks like you and I will have more of the night to ourselves, Poppy." Final Vote Tally Christine (konze): 1 vote (badboytje88) The day has ended without a conviction; there is no lynch. Please get your night actions in within 24 hours of this post. -
I suspect the scum killed Steinvoir in a cowardly move in order to eliminate a formidable opponent. And big thanks to Jormund's killer, whichever side they may be on, and only time will tell in that regard. Where would you like to start? Which actions (aside from leading vote) are you taking full responsibility for? Yeah, no scum would ever dream of leading a bandwagon. Ever. Because everyone knows, don't they, that no scum would ever dare draw such attention to themself that way. More wine? Or is it 'Mead in front of me' in this context? Moving on ... Another person feeling responsible, and that statement is in such stark contrast to this: My goodness, Bergulf, I've never seen such an eloquent statement from you, and full of questions, too. It reminds me of something... hmmm. The bandwagon against Danr was reached pretty quickly, so even though you voted second, you still had plenty of time after a conviction was reached to change your vote if you felt uncomfortable with it. In other news, I seem to have found my shiny flame-thrower; if only someone had invented a sticky-sweet confection that would taste better when toasted...

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Pandora replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nyx Lyssa turns to her friends and starts whispering so that no-one else can hear. "What do you all think? My first instinct is always to say Red, as it matches my eyes, but the rest of you may feel differently. I wonder if this might be a quite important decision and will shape the continuance of our business here. Should we all agree on one colour, or would it be prudent to have half the party choose one and half the party choose another? Perhaps we would have access to more contacts that way? Plus we could go all political and show how Red and Blue types can walk the streets in harmony together, and maybe set some sort of example that changes Strivvi and then the world, or is that perhaps aiming a bit too high?" -
I'm glad to know they have arrived safely!

Ragnarök Now - Confirmation & Discussion Thread
Pandora replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
There's an awful lot of information missing from Day One now - we're effectively starting in a night phase. We may roughly remember what happened overall, but a lot of specifics are now gone with no recourse to refer back. If the roles were reassigned, then the end result of Day One need not necessarily be the same. -

Happy Birthday Erdy! Hope you have had/ will have/ are having a wonderful day!
