Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Three
Pandora replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well that's a crappy night. To me it seems like the scum killed Li'l Corny and the vig killed Li'l Foog. Li'l Foog, as a couple of people have said, made some very odd statements towards the end of yesterday, and was looking a bit scummy, whereas Li'l Corny was looking relatively townie. Unless the scum and the vig all all massive fans of reverse psychology (which I doubt), then that's what seems to have happened. The worrying thing for me, though, is that the scum killed Li'l Corny (assuming it was them). I understand that he might have been their best choice for a townie, and thus a kill, but wouldn't he have been a better choice for conversion? The mayor, who could potentially be useful to the scum later in the game? Thus I am left to wonder that maybe they tried to convert him, and failed, and decided to kill him instead. And for that to be the case, they would've had to have teamed up already. And that is very worrying.- 110 replies

Nyx stumbles slightly, hit by the force, and breathes heavily. She sees so many fall. Almost too many. "Cronk, if we don't finish Wren this round, then we are in serious trouble. Even more serious trouble. If she's not defeated, I will still fall, no matter what happens. Every fibre of my being is screaming that we finish her. All or nothing. But I accept my blood is hot. I will do whatever you wish me to do."

Yet more WIFOM; if he tries it now, is he doing so because he's town? Even less likely the scum would approach him if they thought that, surely?- 175 replies

Nyx is confused a little as Skrall's heavy crossbow appears where her book should be, an event that might well have squished her if not for her barbaric blood. Instead she hefts it over her shoulder to sit against her back until she can return it. She reaches for her icy staff, cold as if possessed by the spirits of the dead, but reasonably stout enough to wallop with. [Gah and you posted the round!] Nyx holds Zee's Standard firm, and casts a Light spell at the Chaos Beast of Life B from the back row.

I don't understand what you're asking us here Li'l Scouty. Aside from thinking you might consider yourself to be a fish, are you asking if people are voting for you because you survived as scum in a previous game or something? If that is it, I can't see the relevance. Oh, now I see Rick's post. So it's because we didn't lynch you yesterday? Again, I'm not sure of the logic, as new points have been made against you today. It's ridiculously hard to read people this game, as has already been mentioned, but I doubt we'll see a whole load of information coming out in the day threads for fear of confirming the scum to one another, so we have to follow the arguments and go with the best case we can. Sorry Scouty, but right now, to me, that's you. Vote: Li'l Scouty Oh, and I am aligned with the town.- 175 replies

The oncoming heat, searing, and the world turns white hot. Warmth, comforting. It feels like arms around her, holding her gently. She smells a mixture of sweat and chemicals, hears a familiar voice.... "I told you they'd be fun!" ...and suddenly she's opening her eyes, back to cold and hard reality again. She stands, slowly, taking time to brush herself down and fix her hair, burying the feeling of loss away as she does so. "That was loads of fun, can we do it again? " She sees the glares back. "O..kay, I guess not then.. " Nyx holds her book in one hand and her Diamond in the other, preparing a spell for the Chaos Beast of Life B from the back row.

Apologies for not seeing you'd already said that, but it's ok for you to say it, but not ok for me to make that point? I don't understand that. I'm not at all saying that what Danny said should be discounted, I am saying that when we do look back at what he said, it is possible he might have said it from a town point of view. Both Danny being scum yesterday and Danny being town yesterday should be considered, that's all. This is a game with heavy emphasis on conversion, after all.- 175 replies

Nyx shrugs and grins back. "Yeah, it ultimately rocks. And I'm still going to blow us all up, and I'm actually allowed to. And that's kinda cool."
-
Nyx is clinging on to life, and the world is topsy-turvy. She'd never been so close to Wren before, but her eyes are drawn to the motionless bodies on the floor. Maybe it's lack of blood but she zones out, just staring, her mind thinking back to ... other times. "So is someone going to throw that bomb?" she hears Felton shout exasperatedly, and she shakes herself back to the present. The bombs! Ohhhh, this is going to be soooo goooood. With perhaps a little too much glee, Nyx combines all three X1 and one X2 with her remaining bomb XX, feeling the intricate way they slot together. A thought of XX fleets through her mind, and she feels a little flutter inside. Once finished, she grins widely at Wren. A huge explosion is coming, and Nyx just can't wait to see it. She throws the bomb combination at Wren from point blank range, knowing she will be enveloped in the warmth and consumed in the fire, but believing her friends will bring her back.

The thing I can't shake is that Danny is usually fairly obvious when he's scum (he may not appreciate me saying that, but never mind), and he looked pretty town to me yesterday. And aside from all the other myriad of possibilities that have been discussed, we haven't considered that Danny may have been converted by scum and killed the same night. If so, then taking anything he says as being 'scummy' or false may be wrong. If Scouty were scum, for instance, Scouty's team may have thought it beneficial to convert Danny. However somebody on the opposing scum team or the vig, for reasons as yet unclear, may have also decided to kill Danny. Possibly the killing scum team to frame Scouty? You may have thought that, but you still haven't answered the points he made against you, which actually seemed like reasonable points to me.- 175 replies

Nyx shivers uncontrollably as the cold blows over her, almost through her, not once, but twice. She loathes being so cold; it feels like being dead. She realises soon, though, that she fortunately isn't, but some of her allies, however, have indeed fallen. She looks sadly at the little frozen frog, and Mallelio, and Skrall, but knows that, in time, they will be revived. She rubs her shoulders to bring back some warmth and loosens her neck muscles. "I'll take the Chaos Beast of Life with the lowest health from the back row with my Diamond, but someone'll need to target the other one. Haldor, do you feel like it?"

Uhm nobody, but it was the very fact that you thought he would be converted that was odd. So you do understand some of the conversion issues discussed. In fact you have corrected me. I can understand you're frustrated, but you're arguing in circles. We were told that nobody would know who was convertible or not, so, as I've said, the fact you thought someone had 'outed' themself as convertible town was odd. And the fact that you assumed that someone outed as such would automatically be converted by the scum, and thus should preemptively die. Not that you would want to look for anyone else who might be suspicious. You would rather look for "clearly convertible" townies (which most of us think don't exist) and get rid of them rather than look for scum. That's how it seems to me. Sure, it's here:- 249 replies

So we've now run the gamut of you wanting to lynch him for being a townie, to wanting to lynch him for being scummy, and now round to not wanting to lynch him for being townie. My ticklish sticklerishness tells me to remind you that Chromeknight was also pointing fingers at Cecilie for the same reason. Which is all of us, minus the six that only Mr def knows about (and minus the scum and the masons of course). So you'd like us all dead, just in case? It was made very clear from the start that some of us would and a few of us wouldn't be convertible, and we wouldn't know, so to make a big deal about someone being 'outed as convertible' seems odd. Some of us read that and thought Li'l Zeph had inadvertently shown himself to be scum, but he then went on to clarify and (it seems) most of us are happy with his explanation, and he's looking less scummy/ more townie. You keep insisting you thought he was townie from the start, and then became more scummy, and either way thought he should die today. And now you think he's town again, but this time you don't think he should die... ... because it will make you look bad? That's all you're worried about here? My vote stands.- 249 replies

"Cronk, Mallelio doesn't have much Ether (only 4) so maybe if Poletad goes before him, Poletad may do his Ether-raising jiggle and then Mallelio might have enough Ether for the scroll? Also, with Mallelio being a Sage, if he gets a Shield he could heal us all and damage all the enemies without using Ether, so maybe it'd be worth trying to make him lucky?"

Firstly: I am aligned with the town. Li'l TrumpetKing, you do seem to want Li'l Zepher gone today. Firstly you want him gone to save him from being recruited to the scum, and now you want him gone because he's scummy to you. I know you've said you felt his posts went from "more townie to less townie" but it strikes me you want him gone either way. This in particular strikes me as odd. I think someone said something about it earlier, but if you want to prevent the scum from recruiting the townies by lynching them, then given that nobody knows who's recruitable or not (aside from the masons) you'll just end up with a lot of dead townies. WIFOM arguments aren't likely to hold much water in this game, really, and again you're wanting to lynch someone you believe (at that point) to be town to save them from recruitment, well, see my point above. Others have expressed that Li'l Zepher has moved perhaps from a scummy to less scummy position. You have expressed the opposite view. It seems to me that either way Li'l Zeph reads to you, you specifically want him dead. In my eyes Li'l Zepher has answered reasonably, and that means I view him as less likely to be scum, but obviously still possibly scum, but I don't see a good enough reason to want to lynch him. You seem to see reasons to lynch him no matter what he says. For now I'll vote: Li'l TrumpetKing The stickler side of me mandates I point out that actually Rufus and I were both the same character in Bloodbrick II; I remember that game acutely well, and although neither of us would perhaps like to be remembered as any form of town leader, I guess we were. There, my sticklerishness covered, can I go back to tickling now please Mr def? In terms of a response, I agree with what Li'l Hinck said to you, but I'll just add that shouting is still shouting even with a at the end of it.- 249 replies

Wow, thanks guys. Those are really nice things to say. Oooh, I created that for the Grogmas Gifts! It's nice to see it again after being given to Cronk!

Nyx feels the familiar warm feeling as the bomb explodes, knowing at the same time that Cronk's Angel had forsaken her at that point. She closes her eyes, opening them just in time to see Alexis's whip whisper past them. Her eyes widen more, and her eyebrows raise, but she manages to stay completely still. At the point where she breathes out slowly, she feels the world warp around her, and she's once again standing next to her friends, although with slightly less gold. "Thanks for not assassinating me Alexis. Uhm, would it be too much to ask to get my gold back after the fight? I never really have much at the best of times." Nyx nods to Atramor and Haldor. "I appreciate the heal Atters, and your compliment Haldor; I figured it was worth a shot. Boy, those things really smell though. It was kinda fun, being a goddess for a few moments. I might have to try it again sometime. " She checks herself, a few bruises and scorchmarks, nothing too terrible. She prepares a Light spell for Chaos Beast M from the back row, only if healed.

It sounds very much like you're wanting to set yourself up as town leader. It almost sounds like you're trying to encourage people to state their night action plans in public, or in private to you. Perhaps I am misinterpreting? It's laudable that you have nothing to hide, and that you don't fear death, but town leaders do not volunteer (the mayoral role notwithstanding, and that is less likely to be a town leadership role this time round; indeed the mayor who lived the longest last time wasn't a town leader). Town leaders evolve over time and with circumstances. So I have no concrete suggestions apart from the usual: We look at people's behaviour, and challenge it when necessary, and come to our own conclusions about whom to trust with the information we process from that. It is from deciding who is trustworthy that a true town block emerges.- 249 replies

"Someone's still healing me, right Cronk?" Nyx listens to the discussions across the gap. She didn't know whether she'd swapped bodies with Wren, but perhaps that didn't matter. She was here, with the Chaos Beasts, and perhaps they were dumb enough to take commands from her? She could pass for Wren, in a kind of "being female" sort of way, and maybe there were other similarities too. She just had to speak with conviction and the beasts should obey. Inside her fire burns brighter, fuelled by hope and determination, and passion for this life. She turns to the Chaos Beasts, standing tall. "My Chaos Beasts! I am your goddess and you worship me, and follow my commands without question! Do as I say or fear my wrath! Chaos Beast of Life, you will attack Chaos Beast H Chaos Beast H, you will attack Chaos Beast I Chaos Beast I, you will attack Chaos Beast K Chaos Beast K, you will attack Chaos Beast L and Chaos Beast L, you will attack Chaos Beast of Life I expect you all to stand in front of me and protect me! These are my orders and you will follow them!" Nyx still readies the Bomb XX to throw at Hans, but still stands back a little.

I'm not frustrated by the 'mechanical difficulties', and I'm not irritated by the roleplaying. I have no idea where you get this strange opinion from.

It was discussed in the land of the dead. In becoming Mayor, you became a trusted townie, and a potential leader. It was indeed what led to your demise. I'm surprised you don't remember, and are putting yourself up again, however it would indeed be a very bold move for you to do if you were scum. Whether history will repeat itself remains to be seen; expectations based on prior events and suggestions of night action moves publicly lead to a whole world of WIFOM. See above. I'm left wondering: How?- 249 replies
