Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Pandora replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
That's pretty much made for Nyx! Even some of the pronouns are female. -
Congrats Corny! I love the idea of Cronk torturing his enemies with a badly played and sung (yet earnestly performed) tune before whacking them on the head with a lute!

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Four
Pandora replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Oh Li'l Chrome, I'm fastidiously polite (and you would have noticed if I weren't), but being polite has absolutely nothing to do with merely taking anybody's word for anything. That's not quite what you said earlier: Overcommitting in real life is different to letting other stuff distract you because you're not interested in the game. Yet before you'd said: You've been in contact with a few people, but you're not part of any group you've listed, even though almost everyone else seems to be in some sort of arbitrary group. The fact that you've made assumptions and observations about everyone else, well I'm curious, if you looked at yourself objectively, what grouping would you put yourself in?- 105 replies

See, this is what I have difficulty with: You were happy enough doing bugger all, and then you got called out on it. "I need to put some work in" is not the same as thinking "What a silly townie I am, I've not been doing anything helpful, I should really do some thinking." it actually sounds more like "Oopsy I look scummy, maybe too scummy, better start looking townie or I'll get myself lynched.". And "not being a member of any group" has not stopped some of us from making observations and posting suspicions. As I said, there's nothing to stop you from talking to people yourself, and it seems you have actually been talking to people when you're telling us you're all alone in this.- 105 replies

Becka! You really have an amazing knack for building Fabuland vehicles. This is absolutely gorgeous, and the colour scheme is spot on, even down to the little yellow frog. There are so many details, like the added tools and the wound up fire hose, but the vehicle doesn't look swamped by them at all. Plus you've added in a funny story (with the 'edge'), with a scene-setting MOC and the story really feels like one of the little stories included in the instruction booklets with the Fabuland sets. I love how you've added fire to the Fabuland trees, and the canister you've added to Chief Brody's back looks fantastic. Oh, and the dribbling fire hydrant too! I absolutely adore this.

You have a guilty conscience for being on a bandwagon to lynch a townie, and you are assuaging that by "taking part in the lynching of a scum". You sound pretty certain he's scum. All of us who've voted for CK (actually most, not all) have done so because we believe there is a case against him, as we have believed each time we've voted (again most of us, but not all of us). What you seem to be saying here is that you're trying to look townie by voting for someone you know to be scum. As I have pointed out before, your votes are often severely deficient in reasoning, but here you have escalated to certitude.- 105 replies

Nyx walks stiltedly back into the hall. She keeps her head high and a fixed expression on her face. She walks past the bar, grabbing a mostly-full bottle of brandy on the way and weaves her way round to a musty corner. This area had become like a sanctuary to her. The curtains spoke of faded opulence and the exquisitely embroidered cushions were threadbare from years of use, grubby shades of deep purple and mulberry. Still the smell of dusky incense hung in the air, and the shabby yet still mystical-styled furnishings spoke of the mages of Heroica's past. She crawls into a dark corner, swigs deeply from the bottle and curls up, almost becoming one with the cushions. Her body aches and she takes fleeting comfort thinking of a long soak in rose-scented water in the nearby bath house. Her mind however plays over the recent losses, searing pain inside her. One most of all. Out of sight of anyone she whimpers slightly as tears start to fall. He said he'd stay with me.

I've been thinking over the accusations against Li'l Chrome, and there are some good points. The analysis he posted, while not indicating his views on scumminess or towniness, was something that required a lot of work and effort. To actively seek out potential relationships across the playground requires effort. Whether or not he was right about it remains to be seen. Whether or not he's truthful about any of it also remains to be seen. I disagree with Li'l Zepher and Li'l Kiel that a scum wouldn't draw attention to something like this. I think perhaps they might, if they thought it might misinform the town or send a message to other scum. For someone so quiet to suddenly appear with this doesn't quite fit. He made a point about not having much in the way of conversation going on in private, yet both Li'l Kiel and Li'l Endgame have mentioned their conversations with him. There is nothing stopping one lonely townie from contacting other people, but scum are often wary of private contact, unless it's with each other. Vote: Li'l Chromeknight (Chromeknight)- 105 replies

I'd still like to hear this. Is there more about the people who weren't mentioned in this post, and is there any particular reason you omitted them? Disputing would be as informative as agreeing with you. Whether or not it would serve to bolster or diminish your argument is secondary to the nature of this game, where people actively distance themselves from each other. To my mind it's possibly more useful to look for people doing just that, but it is interesting to hear your views on events and relationships between players after you've been very quiet for so long, especially as I doubt anyone else is inclined to share their views on the same subject publicly.- 105 replies

Is 6 hours longer than normal where you live? You're right, it is the only scenario that yields a potential killer, but it is far from the only scenario that could have occurred, and thus it isn't as important as you're making it sound. Important, possibly, but really not necessarily. So it doesn't matter if we think Cecilie was killed by the scum or killed by the vig, or even killed by both (it has happened) because there are so many other things that might have happened even if we do assume she was killed by the scum. I feel for the blocker (assuming they're alive, not converted, blah blah) because you seem to be placing the weight of the world on their shoulders.- 105 replies

Keep mentioning it? I must have missed where you mentioned it before. And if (as you did) accept that there might be a multitude of other reasons for only one kill, why zone in on the blocker? Do you think the blocker (again assuming they aren't dead/converted) will read your post and think "Gosh darn it, Li'Rick's right! I might be sitting on the solution to this whole problem and not even have realised it! Gracious me, I should contact a trustworthy townie tout de suite and tell them all about it, maybe that nice Li'l Rick who was so sweet as to mention it in the first place!" or do you think that they might have already thought of that? Your post is insubstantial and you are saying something for the sake of saying something. You know better than that and you insult yourself and us by making such a meaningless statement. Because I'm ever so much the stickler, the word you're looking for is wary. Weary means tired. Nice to see you stop by. It's not subtle metagamey suspicions, it's blatant metagamey suspicions. There was no subtlety intended whatsoever. Exactly the same as these metagamey suspicions you now post: So you "Hmmm...." me (specifically me, as "na na na na na, Pandy said it first") for making an obvious statement about Rick still being all hale and hearty on day 4, and then you go on to make exactly the same point. Did you even read what you wrote there Kiel?- 105 replies

Isn't that the case every day after only one night kill? Yeah, if the kill was blocked. Or someone was protected. Or the vig was converted and lost their action. Or the vig was killed/lynched. But sure, you're right; the blocker who may or may not still be alive, and may or may not still be a blocker, might possibly have vital information if none of the above is true. Maybe. Good point. You're looking remarkably well for Day 4 Li'l Ricky.- 105 replies

I will have more to say at some point, just unfortunately not right now. What I would like to say though is thank you Zepher! I really enjoyed this quest, the story was fantastic and the characters you bring to life are so much fun to interact with. The battles were challenging, but for a Wren finale that was to be expected. Anyway, more later, but I wanted to heap some praise on you and say thank you again for having Nyx along. To all the players too, it was great questing with you all (some of you again), and again I'm sure I'll have more to say. I'm really sorry you felt that way, and I hope I didn't contribute to that. We know you love us, and we also know you wanted to make it a challenge, which as I've said is fair enough. I just hope you know that we love you too! Yet again, I'll say more later, but I wanted to say thank you for this. You are a great player to quest with, and Nyx has certainly developed a lot of affection for Skrall (very much in the same way as she had/has for Cronk too; it's not a romantic thing before Skrall makes a run for it! ) so your words here mean a lot to me. Thank you.

I would have liked an Amethyst or a Ruby had there been one, but of the gems I guess I'm most interested in the Diamond, but then so is everyone else. If Elphaba's coming back, money might be better. However you want to do it Corny.

Nyx moves towards Cronk and talks in a low, quiet voice. "The cost of bashing evil will always be pain and suffering, but know this Cronk, without you there would have been far more pain and suffering. We cannot give up just because the road gets tough. People do fall by the wayside, and should I do so one day, I would be honoured to be lamented by you in this way. There is redemption, there is forgiveness, you just can't always see it." She smiles sincerely, looking the orc straight in his eyes. Then she breaks the moment, whirling away and walking into the centre of the cavern. "Is anyone else really hungry? Oh, and Alexis, sorry, but could I have that 25 gold back please?" OoC: Zeph, I assume I can get my Sandman's Parasol back from... whoever had it, and all the other stuff can be swapped around? Plus I should be back to max health having been healed and then having Natural Respite.

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Three

But you didn't focus on the issue during yesterday when there were "better arguments for lynching Scouty", you specifically chose one person today of the people who mentioned it yesterday, and not even the person who came up with the theory. At the time you made this post, there were 39 hours remaining in the day. How much sleep do you need Li'l Nuts? It sounds more like "Waaaah! I can't hear you and I've got my fingers in my ears, and I'm not changing my vote ever and I'm running awaaaaay!" Yes it did rather, but someone kindly provided the posts for you? Why isn't that person voting for Li'l Nuts? This is all you have to say? The "teasing Li'l Nuts for not bolding his vote" thing was yesterday, and this post is mostly that. I know my reasons for voting, and I sort of understand Li'l Piratedave's now (sort of), but your reasons just sound like a regurgitation. Could you expand on the "breeding unnecessary confusion" part, please?- 110 replies

Changing one's own weapon for another in battle does not cost a turn. Switching weapons with another hero in battle costs one turn each per hero involved per weapon (i.e. switching two weapons between two players would take two turns each.)

Nyx watches all the events with a lump in her throat. She sees the visions so clearly; XX! And her heart jumps; she internally chides herself. As Felton walks calmly away, into the next world, she has to resist every temptation to follow. She wants to see, so much, but it isn't meant to be. Not now. Barely able to speak, she merely breathes: "No regrets Felton my friend, no regrets." She walks over to the body of Hans, where she bows her head respectfully, and mutters a few words no-one can hear. It's only when she picks up Poletad caringly, and full of relief that she notices a mild tremor to her hands. She bites her lip, and maintains her composure, but the swelling emotion only makes her angry with herself. For a second she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, before walking over to Skrall. "I think this is yours?" she hefts the mighty crossbow from her back with her spare hand and hands it to Skrall with a wink. "Well fought Mr Skrall, very well fought." and she smiles warmly, accepting back her book, and resisting the urge to hug the great ogre - generally concluding he may not appreciate such attention. "You too Cronk, you made a fine leader. Strong yet compassionate, you do the Paladin order proud." she nods to Cronk as she walks over to Atramor, grabbing him by his arm to help him to his feet. "Sorry dude." is all she can manage to say, and she smiles weakly at him, knowing the bitterness he must feel for not seeing Wren's demise. She could make a joke, make him feel bad, but... she doesn't want to. Not now, not after everything he'd done for the team and everything he'd been through. She idly strokes Poletad, really wondering what on earth they could do next that wouldn't seem a bit lame after saving the world.

I was thinking about this, and I went back to look. That's actually quite a lot of people (4) all coming from the same stand point. Why didn't you say something about it yesterday if it's bothering you so much? And voting's been open for 6 hours only, but you're voting now in case the day ends without you voting? Do you have somewhere to be Lil' Nuts? It's increasingly striking me that you're voting for someone for any reason you can find, and that doesn't sit well. I appreciate that I had the same reasoning for voting for Li'l Trumpet, but you behaviour still surprises me. That and Li'l Walt jumping in too, which both of you have distanced yourselves from. I will Vote: Li'l Peanuts (Peanuts) but I will be around to change my vote if necessary.- 110 replies

Nyx kneels next to Mallelio and whispers "Here we are again old friend. Please revive Poletad when you're up on your feet again" as she sprinkles the Phoenix Essence over him. She moves next to the lifeless form of Poletad and whispers softly "Heal Hoke, my brave little frog, when you hop up again."

I am still town. Congrats to our new mayor, but I'm not sure I see what others have that gave them the confidence to vote for her (no offense Li'l Cecilie). Meanwhile voting has started... There are some things in your accusation that I can agree with, however I could also consider them true for a lot of other people here. What stood out for me was your comment above. I seem to remember that Li'l Hinckley was the person who first advocated that line of reasoning, and I think a few other people raised it too. So, it seems scummy to me that you would use that as part of your argument. The fact that Li'l Walter jumped to vote straight after your post is also... odd. I'd like to echo Li'l Hinck here in asking what information you think we're throwing out? Finding out Li'l Foog was town this morning was what made me view his scummy posts yesterday as a gambit, so I'm not sure what other information there is.- 110 replies

You misunderstand me. I meant that either: i)they had already tried to convert him on night one and failed, then joined up, shared information and decided to kill him (as he was unconvertible), or ii)they didn't bother trying to convert him but joined up anyway and decided to kill him rather than convert him after discussing it between all of them. I am still open to the idea that they just had Li'l Corny as the best bet for killing a townie, rather than risk killing one of their own on the converting team. I'm not saying I think they've joined up, but the fact that they chose Li'l Corny as a kill is open to interpretation, and some of the conclusions are worrisome for us.- 110 replies

"Well, I quite like the idea of not dying. I guess I'm using my Phoenix Essence, but who do you and Cronk think I should use it on? Unless you want me to try to beat some sense into Wren, of course, but it looks like we're going down the reviving road."
