Parallels and VMWare on Mac don't emulate Windows - they are straight forward virtual machines and operate the same as if you had Windows installed via Boot Camp, or on a stand alone PC. They have direct hardware access, and are full Windows installations.

I love this! Is it designed to fit into the mini or the micro style layouts?

Yea, when I decided to go for the full set I got a little hesitant! There is a guy in Germany selling them, only has a few of each. I'm not sure how he got them, but I'm confident in his sources. Well, I had quite the disappointment when I bought the whole Heroica Ilrion set just to get those figs that were not yet on Bricklink only to find issues with the printing, but the Lego store was amazing and helped me get new ones. I think that added a lot to the Vampire being my favourite figure, he is so regal looking! Thanks! I think I'm going to find a way to make a long display to go over or under our TV once we mount it to the wall in our new apartment :D

Thanks! I fell in love with them :D I'm not sure who Dumbledore is, but I will definitely check to see if I have someone to hunt down! (EDIT: you are right! Thanks for pointing him out!) I know there are more coming in September from Lord Of The Rings too! The plain ones are not brasso'd, they are blank production parts. Is that better? I believe it was the same seller. Not sure how he got his hands on them (I've spoken with him through email and he obviously protects his sources but he was a pleasure to do business with!

I haven't played it yet actually - it's my first Heroica game! I really just bought it to complete my micro fig collection :D I'm looking forward to trying it though!

Just an update for anyone else who finds this - the guy at the store just opened another box, we checked the prints and then they swapped it out for me. It was painless and really good customer service!

Thats an option too I guess, although the store is just minutes from my work (I have to walk past it to get to the bus!) and I didn't want them to think I was just calling to get the micro figs for free!

The dark blue character has a scratch on the chin, the red one has the flesh colour offset by almost a mm, and the vampire has a muddy grey face instead of white (I know it wouldn't have been a *bright* white like in the picture, but this looked like it was barely applied). Has anyone else had this issue? The parts are out of the bag as my GF was starting to build the set when I noticed the prints (I only cared about the figs) - is there a chance that the Lego store will allow me to return it for another set? Or will they all have issues like this? I really hope that this isn't a sign that the quality is starting to slip as this is my favourite part of Lego.

With all of the Portal memorabilia I actually think the licensing would be pretty easy. Valve has very strict terms for its publishing partners (who basically just take a cut in return for distributing the physical media for the console versions of the games) and has themselves helped to promote the project. Hell, I got Portal coasters and book ends for my wedding so far, a Lego set should be a piece of cake ;)

As a huge fan of Portal, I'm hoping this gets made! I'd especially like the small game set!

Ebay shut it because of a complaint and told me I have 30days to ask for my money back. I'm giving them a chance though because I got a shipping notification and others have said that they received them fine... so fingers crossed! EDIT: Well, they were waiting for me when I got home!

Interesting. I was considering sticking with Bricklink for the figs but don't feel too good about paying 10-15 for one person. But at the same time I don't really want to deal with the hassle of selling the sets too if I could avoid it. As I've only been building for a year I don't have a good grasp on the demand for parts vs full sets which is why I posted the question. I guess I just feel silly paying $200 + tax for the MF Haunted House only to want the figs, but also would feel silly paying $60-80 for just the figs... Life is hard!

As I really only care to collect minifigs at this point - is there a market for selling sets without them? My plan would be to buy a set, remove the minifig, and then sell the set at about 75% of the original cost, maybe 50% for some of the smaller ones under $75. Would anyone be interested in something like the Monster Fighter sets minus the minifigs for 50-75% off?

Gotta bug everyone in the UK to help me get these now!

I was - I couldn't get the images to load unfortunately >.< I appreciate the advise everyone - perhaps I will break down and box up my sets, and then just sit on them a bit until they have more value (such as FB and GE being discontinued). I guess I could see my extra parts in bulk on bricklink too...
