Eurobricks Mafia Day Two: Moonlight Medicine
Tamamono replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Vote for who you think is scum, not for who would even the votes out. If we all tried to get along in our vote choices, scum would never get lynched. And again, why would you vote someone you don't think is scum and then contact that person!? That makes no sense whatsoever. -

Honestly, I think that's likely to be the psycho. Assuming he doesn't have some weird extra win condition that SKs don't usually have, there's no reason for him to not kill consistently each night. Although, I must admit, DD was a bit of a weird action. She was looking like scum yesterday, though; maybe the psycho's townsiding? This is a good point, and one that I completely forgot about. But if the scum didn't kill him, who did? I'm pretty certain that there's no reason for the psycho to not kill, and killing him would be a terrible idea for a vigilante (he towntold consistently all day). Honestly, I think it's most likely that the scum killed Corny, but how could they be sure that he wouldn't be converted? I really hope they haven't teamed up yet; we're in bad enough shape as it is. Actually, it's possible that the psycho tried to kill but failed on night zero. A block or a protection maybe? In any case, this isn't helping anyone at the moment; time to move on to bigger and better things. Honestly, I have a really bad feeling about you still. It seems like you're going a bit more insane than usual, which, as I've said before, is your scumtell. Plus, if you would have lynched DD yesterday, why didn't you say so? I thought you wanted to lynch Trumpetking? However, I must admit, your Dave read isn't too far off of my read of him. His voting you to "even the vote" set off some red flags for me, and although I personally think his TP vote might not have been too far off (TP's usually a pretty hard read), the fact that he apparently contacted TP after voting him is completely whacko. Did he really do that? -

:hmph: I actually think there's a good chance that whoever killed Corny is the scum killer. DD was a weird choice for a scum kill, so I think it's likely that that's the vig/SK. It's completely ridiculous how y'all still lynched Flare even after he started towntelling. And now it seems Hinckley has been hit with a roleplaying action. Either that or he's scum and mocking us all. :hmph: -

Trumpet. I think I've made my read on you pretty clear. -

What I meant is that I think there's a good chance that you're scum this game, so thus I'm a bit wary of following your reads. However, the fact that Flare started PMing people to vote for you makes me kind of question that... I don't know, am I wrong for trying to get team reads? I realize that the teams are separate, but they're not all scattered, right? So maybe a couple of 2-3 person teams? That allows for some team reads, I suppose. And yes, it was affiliation. -
Eurobricks Mafia Day One: Let the metagaming begin!

This whole day has been, as a greying old policewoman once said, a circlejerk of nonsense. I actually really feel like Flare towntold under pressure (his calling his initial post mentally impaired seems to be the general backpedaling scumtell a lot of noobs give off). I know it sounds backwards, but I've found that the strongest "scumtells" are usually noobtells (like with Trumpet in Heartlake). He should still be verified, though. As for the other candidates, I don't like the Big Cam vote or the Trumpet vote. Big Cam's done literally nothing but poop this game, but I honestly have never known him to towntell too hard. If anything, I'd say he's town based on meta. And Trumpet, while noobish, is just a tough read and not someone I'm comfortable with lynching at this point. Hinck's push on him makes me question his affiliation as well (although scum doesn't know their teammates...). Darkdragon I'd actually be pretty happy with. She seems to be getting overly flustered, and it seems to me like she and Hinck are somehow involved this game (at least from the mayor vote). Plus, when voted by JimBee, she immediately jumped onto the most popular bandwagon. However, Draggy and Shadows make a good point; Hinck feels off this game. It's not just the fact that he's mimicking Scuba, he's acting incredibly forced and more aggressive than usual, which is his scumtell, as I learned from Bloodbrick II. Vote: Hinckley (Hinckley) I think this is the right lynch for today (seriously this time ) -

I really don't get that either; scum probably wouldn't throw up their own for a mayor nomination (especially not that early); anyone who's voting for Flare just to "find out his affiliation" should definitely be held under scrutiny. Why on earth would you do that? There's no reason for the scum to "jockey" at the last second to elect Flare; there's actually a fairly good chance that scum had already voted. Well, to be fair, there aren't as many lurkers in this game than in most games, but it's definitely strange that they both picked Flare, especially when they'd never played with him. I suppose I can understand electing a lurker as mayor (as bad a decision it is), but it should at least be someone you trust to make the right calls. Still, if DD and Hinck are scum, I trust them to not be so sloppy as to reveal that they had outside shared info (*coughwriteboardcough*) like that. Hmm... It actually is; why would a townie need to get on someone's "good side"? It's not a straightforward accusation, it's more of an implication of scumminess, which is worse imo. You're actually starting to towntell, however. Welp... This is actually something that's been bothering me as well. Plus, as I said earlier, there is no logic to voting for someoen you don't recognize. Even if you want someone under-the-radar for mayor, you should pick someone you trust to hammer right in a tie. Unvote: Flare (Flare) I don't really feel comfortable with this anymore, especially after badboy and Cam followed blindly. -

While I do agree that Flare is the optimal lynch today, why are you voting for someone just because it'll be "interesting". Also, it appears badboy's been hit by the day-thread lover gimmick action. :hmph: -

You know, I have to admit, I didn't really get the Flare vote at first, but then I reread this post: This is almost entirely based on meta, but I'm actually fairly certain he's scum (or at least not town) from this post. Here he seems like he's acting extra-reserved, almost as if he's really giving a speech. I've found that, in my experience of several scum games, you always feel "on the spot" (so to speak) when posting; as if you not only have to post, but it needs to be some amazing work of art. Rhetorical questions and bad jokes generally serve this purpose well. Plus, in his 'accusation' of Hinckley, he beats around the bush, really. I've found that presenting the evidence and leaving interpretation of it to the audience is a pretty good (and manipulative) way to present a case against someone. This is what he seems to be doing here. My experience with Flare has taught me that, while he's a tough a read, he's not one to make posts like this as town. Vote: Flare (Flare) -

Ah, okay, that makes sense. Judging by the fact that nobody's claimed to be invincible (which would be to the town's advantage; especially if it's someone who's likely to be investigated), it's likely that a scummo got invincibility for tonight. I'd actually be suspicious of those just revealing their pieces now - if they're scum they realize that there's no reason not to reveal their pieces now that it's been solved (Adam and Alopex are the only ones, right?) Adam's actually been 'pinging my scumdar' (to steal a phrase) a lot today. He's voiced his opinion on several matters enough (this post and this post) to avoid being seen as a generic sheep, but still not enough to actually make himself useful; basically putting him in the middle ground, which is where a lot of scum want to be. badboy's vote for him is weird too. I doubt a scum would vote for another scum for mayor out of the blue like that, but it really makes no sense at all. Maybe they have some sort of linked roles? However, a lot of other people are in the middle ground as well at the moment; why not FoS them? In all honesty, I feel like a lot of this read is gut, and I've learned the hard way that that's not the way to lynch. This is actually a really good point; while it's certain that there are a few non-piece-holders (like Danny claims), it's safe to assume that the scum don't/didn't really know what to do with their pieces (or lack thereof), so they're likely to sit around on writeboard talking about who will reveal what, etc. Not quite sure what to make of Trumpet saying we should wait until Day 1 to solve the puzzle. He's felt a bit forced this game, but I'm wary of misreading him because of how he played in Heartlake. Yes, sorry, I was still getting caught up when I posted that. -

I actually think that a large amount of people competing in the games of chance is a bad idea; the lynch is the town's best weapon, and town is much more likely to lose their vote than scum. I'd say it'd be optimal for only 2 people to compete at a time from now on. It's not really a big deal since Cornelius was already elected, but why on earth would you split the mayor vote? -

I didn't rule anything out; I said that Cornelius towntold earlier. That doesn't mean he's town, it just means that I see him (and several others) as the most trustworthy as of now. Oh, I thought all SKs could be cured. Did he not post? I thought he he'd posted at least once... That could very well be a vigkill then, and maybe the skelly is the SK? I could see the scum not killing for fear of killing their own. -

And why is everyone calling what appears to be a SK kill a Psycho Killer kill? Unless I've been very mistaken the last couple of years, third party killers are called Serial Killers, not Psycho Killers. Did the SK slip and out his role's name? -

*Yawn* Alright, after a good nap, I'm ready to begin hunting scum. Now, as for the night's kills, I assume that the Death-With-A-Chainsaw is the scum killer - we were all whacked in the head by skellies in caps earlier - why would that be the serial killer? As for Redblade being the target, it's not uncommon for the scum to go for someone who's unlikely to be protected, although there are definitely experienced players who attract less attention than Hinck/Shadows/Draggy who would make great kills. It's possible that he had a PR that he spilled to a scummo, but it's unlikely. Talking to anyone on Night Zero is a risky idea with greater consequences than rewards. Hmm... As for the chandelier, I honestly think that's the SK (god always talks about "only adding an independent SK", so it's safe to assume that there's one here). Cecilie's actually a risky target for a SK. She's more likely to be protected than people like me, etc., and the SK usually just has to kill indiscriminately until he wins. Maybe he can joint with the scum and he was killing his townread...? Also, if there's a vig, there's a high chance that he/she hasn't killed yet - and with good reason. ~~~~~~ Okay, now that the obligatory speculation is over with, let's get on to the meat of the day. As annoying as this is, it's likely the product of a gimmick action, fyi. Remember something similar to that game we played last year... Dr. Budweiser's Madhouse? Something like that. I hate to blatantly metagame (wait, isn't that what I've been doing all post...? ), but that would be unfair. I think what he meant was that there's a team that kills and a team that recruits. So if, for example, the killer dies, his teammate will take his position. ~~~~~~ Now, when it comes to all this mayor business, I have to ask: why are you fools voting for Flare? :hmph: Hinck, your "logic" that he's unlikely to be killed is nullified by Redblade's death. Plus, are the scum unlikely to kill a town PR just because he isn't a major player in these games? :hpmh: No. If a townie gets elected mayor, there's a high chance that he'll be killed/converted (Remember how the Patient Representitive almost got converted on night 1 of Professor Beetlebop's Hospital? The only thing that saved him was his miller role.). That having been said, I highly urge the Alarmist (prevents one townie from being converted a night), if we have one, to be on the mayor tonight. A doctor might have a better target, but we want to keep the tie-breaker town. Honestly, our best weapon here is the WIFOM of the scum team being separated (the killers won't know whether or not to kill the mayor, and vice versa). In any case, I see Cornelius as the optimal mayor candidate at this point. Having the nerve to put himself up for election is a towntell (although it could be leaning null due to his experience), and frankly, I want someone at the front that I can read (I can't read Flare) and I trust Cornelius to hammer correctly if necessary. Mayor: CorneliusMurdock I don't seem to remember him saying that... -
I see a Denver/Green Bay (or San Francisco) super bowl. As much as I hate to admit it, Denver's been on the up and up lately, and I think even if New England takes down Houston (which I'm sure they will), they'll fall to Denver. In the NFC it's a bit more of a toss-up, though; the only team I really have no faith in at this point is Seattle, who only won their last game because of Griffin's knee. Atlanta might actually get somewhere, but I've never seen them be too successful in the playoffs - they seem to be one of those teams that, in do or die situations, dies. I really can't see anyone other than Denver winning the superbowl this year. It's a real shame.

Eurobricks Mafia: Night Zero (Confirmation thread)
Tamamono replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
If "everyone" presents their pieces and it still doesn't make sense, I think those claiming to not have pieces should be put under scrutiny. It's reasonable to assume that not everyone got a piece, but if, for example, one scum didn't get a piece and another did, the scum with the piece would know that it's perfectly fine to claim to have no piece, thus depriving us of being able to solve the puzzle. In other news, I'm having one hell of a hard time with this puzzle. Hinck, you said the pieces go together, yeh? I actually don't see any of them going together... Nevermind, I found how a couple of them go together.
